No Love For LeBron James: Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard Have No Interest in Joining The Lakers Next Summer
With the NBA season finally here, you would think that the summer of 2019 free agency rumors would slow down. That’s not going to happen anytime soon. According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, there are “whispers” around the NBA that Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard don’t want to team with LeBron James.
Both Butler and Leonard can become free agents during the offseason.
Butler is still a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He requested a trade three weeks ago, however, and his relationship with the organization appears to be crumbling.
The Lakers likely have enough to be a playoff team in 2018-19, but they need another All-Star to elevate themselves to championship contention in a Western Conference that includes the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.
Butler and Leonard are two of the NBA’s best two-way players, and either of them would make the Lakers a true championship threat.
The 29-year-old Butler is a four-time All-Star and four-time All-Defensive Team selection who has averaged 20 or more points per game in each of the past four campaigns. When healthy, Leonard is a top 5 NBA talent. Leonard, an NBA Finals MVP, can spread the floor as well as defend at every position.
There’s also this: when you win on LeBron’s team, LeBron gets all the credit. Another star might think it’s impossible to be viewed as anything more than a supporting actor while playing in James’ shadow.

2 Chainz and ESPN Recaps a Wild NBA Offseason in New Video
The National Basketball Association is back! It feels like it never left with all the madness that went on in the offseason with All-Stars changing teams or wanting to (we are looking at you Jimmy Butler), but the first tip-off will go down tonight between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics on TNT. ESPN will get in on the NBA action tomorrow with their own doubleheader and celebrate the occasion by releasing an off-season recap with 2 Chainz.
the video shows an animated 2 Chainz putting together a video clip and playing around on photoshop while using his trademark flow to talk about all of the headlines. DeMarcus Cousins, the King in Los Angeles, the Celtics being healthy are all covered in the quick verse from 2 Chainz. Now if we can get a full project before the year is over everything would be perfect.

NBA Star Kevin Love Designs Collection For Banana Republic [Photos]
Kevin Love will soon be balling in the fashion world. He has worked on a new capsule with Banana Republic.
According to Page Six the Cleveland Cavalier has partnered with the national retail chain for a new men’s collection. Titled BR/K.LOVE-18, the collaboration is inspired and designed by the pro basketball player.
Staying true to the fashion brand’s approach to chic work wear, all the pieces represent his take on classic garments including the leather biker jacket and cable knit sweater. “I look for pieces that are stylish and functional, which was an important aspect when designing this collection,” Love explained to Page Six.
This isn’t your typical celebrity drop. It is apparent Love and the BR team took their time curating BR/K.LOVE-18 as it is 86 pieces deep. Products range from a plush double-breasted topcoat, varsity jacket, long sleeve polo shirts, neck wear and other accessories. The power forward also made sure to include big and tall options to cater to consumers who also struggle to find clothing that fits their long limbs.

Meme Team: Twitter Has A Field Day With LeBron’s New Laker Teammates During Media Day

NBA Twitter got its first real glimpse of LeBron outside of NBA 2K19 sporting the purple gold alongside his new teammates yesterday. The sight is still hard to believe, but interestingly it’s LeBron’s young teammates and his bench mob who was the subject Twitter ridicule.
Hollywood Bron’s new team might be young but are they ready? If you ask Bron they are, but that remains to be seen until tipoff the 2018-19 season, but he knows they have a long way to go.
While the primary focus should have been LeBron donning a Lakers jersey, it was the look on his in a photo with his new young teammates and his veteran bench comprised of Michael Beasley, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee that stole show. After it was learned that Bron labeled them “MUD” (misunderstood, under-appreciated and determined) the jokes began to fly immediately.
From the Lakers possibly missing the playoffs, his coach being Luke Walton, wishing for Kawhi Leonard, Lonzo’s dad asking to be the fifth man Twitter didn’t miss a beat. Bron might have to turn off his phone for the entire season because he is definitely on meme team and with that lineup, we can expect jokes at his and their expense everytime they hit the court.
But this is LeBron James, the best basketball player in the world, so anything is possible. He still gonna get these jokes though, hit the gallery for the best reactions to the meme team *coughs* we mean 2018-19 Los Angeles Lakers.

Basketball Cyborg Kawhi Leonard’s Creepy Laugh Has Twitter Flipping Out

Kawhi Leonard has never been known for his brilliant personality, making him a perfect fit for the efficient if emotionally stoic San Antonio Spurs. In his first interview with the Toronto Raptors, the talented basketball star broke tradition with a smile and laugh that has Twitter officially creeped out.
No shots at Leonard, but him explaining at the presser that he’s a fun guy rang a little hollow considering when the Spurs won the chip in 2014 over the Miami Heat and the forward winning Finals MVP, he barely smiled or seemed to enjoy himself then.

Andrew Wiggins Apparently Wants Smoke With Certified NBA Goon Stephen Jackson

Of all the people in the NBA past or present to NOT offer to shoot the fade with, Stephen Jackson might be near or at the top of that list. Well, the memo didn’t get to Andrew Wiggins or his little brother as the latter took a jab at Wiggins’ Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Jimmy Butler that Jackson responded thus sparking a rather interesting beef.
Let’s take it from the top.
Butler, who was acquired in a trade from the Chicago Bulls, wants out of Minnesota fast which prompted Nick Wiggins to write “Hallelujah” in a now-deleted tweet. Jimmy Butler then posted an Instagram video with the same words from Wiggins then, in a veiled jab to the Wiggins brothers, to “keep that same energy.”
Wiggins then went to his Instagram stories to write the following: “SJ/Old dudes stay hating like he was anything special bum ass…I keep that same energy everywhere I go!”
Yeah. It goes there.
Jackson caught wind of Nick Wiggins’ dart and posted an Instagram video, complete with blown smoke and a fresh white durag, confirming that while he’s definitely 40 years of age, he was never a bum and even wished Wiggins a good upcoming season. He initially fired back by reimagining a convo between the Wiggins brothers questioning the active playing brother’s heart as Nick is not in the league.
Here’s where we’ll remind folks that Jackson is very much about that action as evidenced by him jumping into the stands to hand out fades during 2004’s Malice In The Palace incident during a Detroit Pistons game versus the Indiana Pacers.
