Chief Keef Shows Love to the Lakers After They Celebrated to ‘Faneto’

Chief Keef

“Faneto” is one of the hardest singles in the last 10 years and an instant classic. Don’t debate me or the Los Angeles Lakers, who celebrated to it after winning The NBA Finals. Chief Keef, the single’s creator, saw their celebration and made sure to give a shoutout.

“Shout out King James & AD!” Chief Keef Sosa wrote. “Aye Butler I Love you 4Life shorty Squa squa #300”

Why does Jimmy Butler hold a place in Sosa’s heart? Likely because Jimmy Butler started his career grinding in Chicago during Chief Keef’s rise in Hip-Hop. Look at them both now. Stars.

Peep Keef’s shoutout below.

Jimmy Butler Gets His Wish and Has Been Traded to the Philadelphia 76ers

Jimmy Butler and Minnesota Timberwolves finally ended their estranged relationship on Saturday. Butler is on his way to Philadelphia 76ers.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Sixers will send Robert Covington, Dario Saric, and Jerryd Bayless to Minnesota for Butler.

Per Wojnarowski, the 76ers made the deal with the intention of finding a third star to play with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons and are expected to reach an agreement with Butler on a long-term contract extension this summer.

This is a major statement by the Sixers and it’s the first splashy move by their new general manager, Elton Brand. The Sixers sit at 7-5 this season. They haven’t played their best basketball. They’re hoping that Butler’s talent and competitive fire can help lift this team to new heights. Brett Brown has three superstars to work with. In addition to Butler,  Embiid and Simmons are approaching superstar levels in their own right.

The Wolves lose Butler but get Covington — a two-way guy on a great contract who doesn’t need the ball to be effective — and Saric, a young, versatile stretch four who should complement Karl-Anthony Towns well.

The Eastern Conference doesn’t look nearly as bad as it did prior to the season. The Sixers are now a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention, the Raptors, Celtics, and Bucks all look poised to battle it out for a trip to the NBA Finals.

Pray For Markelle Fultz: Jimmy Butler Traded To The Sixers, NBA Twitter Is In Shambles

Minnesota Timberwolves v Golden State Warriors

The Jimmy Butler era with the Minnesota Timberwolves is a wrap. Sources say the NBA All-Star has been traded to the Philadelphia Sixers.

Philly gave up some young talent, shipping Robert Covington and Dario Saric to the Timberwolves.

Also, a 2022 second round draft pick for the Timberwolves is part of the deal.

With Jimmy Buckets on the squad, the already playoff contending Sixers become that more dangerous. Ben Simmons still needs a jumper, stat, though. Oh yeah, the Sixers got Justin Patton and the T-Wolves got Jerryd Bayless, too.

The jokes Markelle Fultz jokes are already litty. See the best NBA Twitter reactions in the gallery.

Has Jimmy Butler Played His Last Game for the Timberwolves?

Jimmy Butler is not playing in the Timberwolves’ game on Wednesday night against Utah. It’s the latest step in a six-week standoff between the disgruntled All-Star and the team that has not yet granted his wish to be traded, According to Shams Charania, the move is part of Butler’s plan to get traded as soon as possible and it could lead to an extended absence beyond tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz.

Charania notes that Butler started contemplating not playing tonight on Tuesday, and the final decision was made Wednesday morning when he informed coach Tom Thibodeau of his decision. That said, the Wolves are explaining Butler’s absence for tonight’s game as “general soreness and precautionary rest.”

In six games this season, Butler leads the Timberwolves with 22.5 points per game, in addition to 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3 steals. The Timberwolves, 3-4, will host the Utah Jazz tonight before embarking on a five-game road trip that includes a trip to Oracle Arena on Friday night, followed by matchups against the Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers, and Sacramento Kings.

The Houston Rockets recently made an offer for Butler that included four first-round picks but, according to ESPN’s Malika Andrews, league sources suggest that any potential offer from Houston must also include shooting guard Eric Gordon.

It’s unfortunate that the Timberwolves and Butler can’t see eye to eye on this one. The longer the drama continues between both parties, the less likelihood is there for a fair equal trade value.

No Love For LeBron James: Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard Have No Interest in Joining The Lakers Next Summer

With the NBA season finally here, you would think that the summer of 2019 free agency rumors would slow down. That’s not going to happen anytime soon. According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, there are “whispers” around the NBA that Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard don’t want to team with LeBron James.

Both Butler and Leonard can become free agents during the offseason.

Butler is still a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He requested a trade three weeks ago, however, and his relationship with the organization appears to be crumbling.

The Lakers likely have enough to be a playoff team in 2018-19, but they need another All-Star to elevate themselves to championship contention in a Western Conference that includes the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.

Butler and Leonard are two of the NBA’s best two-way players, and either of them would make the Lakers a true championship threat.

The 29-year-old Butler is a four-time All-Star and four-time All-Defensive Team selection who has averaged 20 or more points per game in each of the past four campaigns. When healthy, Leonard is a top 5 NBA talent. Leonard, an NBA Finals MVP, can spread the floor as well as defend at every position.

There’s also this: when you win on LeBron’s team, LeBron gets all the credit. Another star might think it’s impossible to be viewed as anything more than a supporting actor while playing in James’ shadow.
