Zendaya and Labrinth Release ‘I’m Tired’ From ‘Euphoria’

Fresh off last night’s explosive season finale of “Euphoria,” Zendaya teams up with Labrinth to release “I’m Tired” from the hit HBO series.

Co-written by Labrinth and Zendaya, “I’m Tired” was originally performed in the emotional final scene of episode four that finds Rue standing in a church while Labrinth sings to her. The two came together after the episode aired to create a collaborative version, which played during the end credits of the finale.

“Hey Lord, you know I’m fighting / Hey Lord, you know, I’ll find it,” Zendaya sings on their chilling duet. “I don’t know when or how today / Hey Lord, I’m on my way.”

Speaking with IndieWire, the Emmy-winning composer recalled the emotional experience of performing the song on set. “I knew what Rue was going through. Being in a church, it felt spiritual,” said Labrinth. “Zendaya was crying. I was crying. We had Hunter [Schafer] and Dom[inic Fike] and everyone could feel the vibe there was different.”

Kid Cudi has expressed his interest in recording a remix to “I’m Tired.” “Please dear GOD put me on a remix of this @Zendaya @Labrinth,” he tweeted, which prompted Zendaya to respond, “Yoooo! What a dream that would be… @Labrinth???”

On Friday, Dominic Fike’s “Elliot’s Song,” which was performed during the season two finale, will be released to streaming services.

Teyana Taylor Responds to Viral Video Alleging She Abused Drugs

Teyana Taylor is putting the rumors to rest.

The R&B singer has shut down a viral TikTok video alleging that she was hospitalized for a drug overdose and that her husband Iman Shumpert was unfaithful.

Last week, TikTok user @klatschhh claimed that an unnamed singer with a “TV show and two daughters” had a “mental breakdown” after her husband–who competed on “Dancing with the Stars”–allegedly cheated on her. The account, which reenacts “unconfirmed stories and parodies,” went on to claim that she was “acting erratic” and abusing drugs.

The anonymous tipster, who allegedly worked as an assistant to the singer, says she walked in and found the woman laying on the floor “from too much candy.” While the singer announced that she was hospitalized because of exhaustion, the report suggests otherwise.

There was speculation that the video was referencing Teyana and Iman, especially since photos of the couple’s actual home were used. In November, Teyana was rushed to the emergency room and forced to cancel her Connecticut show due to exhaustion.

“My team & I tried everything down to the very last second to get me out on that stage, but my body simply just gave out, which actually started a few days ago,” Teyana said at the time. “SHUT DOWN, my body actually low key betrayed me cause ah bitch was tryna get on that stage.”

After the video went viral, Teyana responded to the rumors. In an Instagram caption on her original post, she called the accusations “cap” and threatened to take legal action against those who spread the false claims.

“The person who sent in this CAP ass TikTok story is a fool, the person who ‘re-enacted’ this CAP ass story is a fool (she better have her court coin ready) but the people who believed the CAP ass story are the biggest fools smh,” she wrote. “Y’all allow a YT girl to pull some shit like this during Black History Month???”

Teyana said that not even her husband could convince her to do drugs. “NOBODY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN MAKE PETUNIA OVERDOSE ON A DAMN THING,” she added. “I’d kill @imanshumpert fine ass, put him in a nice suit and bury him my damn self before I EVER let him or ANYBODY to push me to do drugs or take myself out.”

She slammed the “clout chasers” for “preying on black positive families that are thriving.” Added Teyana, “Ppl are dying, police are still killing our brothers, our brothers are still killing our brothers, Black women are still the most disrespected & unprotected women in the world.”

She continued to shut down the malicious lies while defending her family. “Y’all know I stay out the way and mind my business. But I will ABSOLUTELY defend myself and take out the TIME to address a rumor like this,” she commented on The Shade Room.

“Attaching my personal home & likeness in the background of a video that is spreading FALSE & dangerous rumors about my family & I is damn near like saying our names LOUD & CLEAR. So wether I address it or not it’s damned if you do damned if you dont so f**k it but don’t ever play with my family.”

Truth & Da Beatminerz Take It Back to the Essence on “For All Intents & Purposes” (Album Review)

This is the 3rd full-length album from Queens emcee Truth. Coming up as 1/3 of Gods’Illa, it wouldn’t be until the year after the group’s full-length debut Believe in Gods’Illa where he would start to build up a solo discography for himself with From Ashes to Kingdom Come. He then followed it up 3 years later by dropping the sophomore effort The Fight for Survival & now with the 3 year anniversary of that coming up next month, Truth is enlisting Da Beatminerz to produce For All Intents & Purposes in it’s entirety.

After the “Power of Truth” intro, the first song “Let’s Do It” is a dusty boom bap opener encouraging those who want problems to pursue it whereas “Duck Dodge Hide” takes a more blood-curdling route talking about watching your step around him. “Where You At?” goes into a more orchestral direction getting on his Queens shit just before “Listen Up” sends a chilling warning to anyone who wants to step to him in a battle.

Meanwhile on “Aim to Kill”, we have Truth delivering some deadly battle raps leading into “Fistory in the Making” following it up with a full-blown fight anthem. “Stomped Out” picks up where the previous cut left off topically except it works in some pretty cool horns, but then “Brutality” samples “I’m Alive” by Johnny Thunder to talk about his rapping prowess.

“Attack” has some funky undertones into the production to rap circles around his opposition once more while “Take ‘Em Down” goes into bluesier turf talking about never letting up. The penultimate song “Entourage” with Joe Fatal, Large Professor, Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi & Treach is an absolutely stellar posse cut with a haunting yet relaying vocal loop & after the “Pardon the Disruption” interlude, “The Eternal Forces” ends the album with a beautiful ode to those in his life who couldn’t be here today.

If you ask me, this is easily the best thing that Truth has put out yet. He & Da Beatminerz all take it back to the essence on here from the rugged lyrical content to the raw boom bap sound that the production duo blew up off of 3 decades ago & even the scratch hooks.

Score: 8/10
