Chuck D Reacts To ‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Mixing Up Public Enemy And The Funky Bunch, “Everybody Don’t Know Everything”

Chuck D PE

Public Enemy is one of the greatest, and arguably the greatest, hip-hop group of all time. You would think the legendary group would be a household name, even outside of hip hop, but obviously, that is not the case.

During a recent episode of the long-running game show, temporary host Mayim Bialik read a clue from a category called “Chuck D, Times 3.” The question read “In the 1990s Chuck D began fighting the power in this hip-hop group with Flavor Flav, a man who always knew what time it was.”

The contestant Halley Ryherd obviously forgot to study hip hop music and the most popular groups of the 1990s when she answered the question with  “The Funky Bunch.”

The clip quickly went viral on social media as people wondered how someone could mix up Public Enemy, one of the most important and legendary hip hop groups of all time, with Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch.

Chuck D even saw the clip, and decided to respond, saying that “everybody doesn’t know everything.”

“Everybody don’t know everything… it’s why I introduce myself wherever I go and whoever I talk to … it’s just courtesy. But the sad thing is not knowing those other Chuck Ds,” the PE frontman said on Twitter.

Even the contestant who screwed up the answer chimed in on social media, jokingly saying that she’s talked to her therapist and will forever be known as the person who mixed up the two groups.

“I’ve talked to my therapist about it and I think I’m ready to forever be the person who mixed up Public Enemy and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch on @jeopardy. #mylegacy.”

808 Mafia Producer, Southside, Calls Himself “Bob The Builder” When Talking About How Many BBLs He’s Paid For

Southside

Southside might be known for the beats he’s produced for artists such as Gucci Mane, Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and Drake, but he also might be known for something else in the streets.

The 808 Mafia co=founder and superproducer recently sat down with 92.3 L.A.’s The Cruz Show where he revealed that he’s “funded” 10 women’s BBLs (Brazilian Butt Lift) and refers to himself as “Bob The Builder.”

“[Am I a BBL] expert? No. Funder? Yes,” Southside said. “I got a list! Sh*t is crazy.” He was then asked how many women whose BBLs he has “funded” and responded, “10, for sure. I done got some girl’s t*tties did twice. I done got a girl’s t*tties did, got ’em big. But it was too big for her, got ’em redid again, got ’em small.” He then joked, “I call myself Bob the Builder.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Southside spoke on his “necessities” in the studio, saying that whenever he comes to a creative block while working on a beat, he goes in another room and has a woman waiting on him.

“I don’t rage [when making beats]; I just delete [a beat] and go in the room and go f*ck or something and then come back out and make some more sh*t,” he said. “I always got p*ssy waiting somewhere, that’s my thing. It’s a studio necessity.”

He went on to say how he respects women and considers himself “one of those new type of guys.” “Don’t get it f*cked up, I love women. I was raised by my momma and all her sisters and all her friends. My dad wasn’t really around when I was young so I love women. I’m one of them new type of guys, I don’t judge women. You not a h*e in my eyes, I don’t give a damn what you did. I just want to have a good time!”

R. Kelly Attorney Calls RICO Charge “Inappropriate,” Vows To Appeal

https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/legal-and-management/9487888/r-kelly-trial-start-date/

On Wednesday, June 29, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Following the verdict, Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said that she plans to appeal the R.I.C.O charge that her client was charged with.

During a post-sentencing press conference, Bonjean spoke about appealing the charge, saying that there was no evidence to support that her client was a part of an enterprise, and called the charge “inappropriate.”

“These were not a RICO act violation,” Bonjean said at the 2:36-minute mark. “These were isolated events that happened many years and the government simply tried to plead around the statute of limitations to bring in a RICO charge, which was inappropriate.”

She continued, saying “all I can tell you is there was no enterprise. There was no enterprise. It was one man with allegations by a number of women, which doesn’t make it an enterprise, and that is why he’s not guilty of racketeering.”

She added that she was “excited” about the appeal, and “confident” that their appeal would persuade the court of appeals to dismiss the charge. She also said that she told Kelly to invoke his 5th amendment right and not take the stand.

You can watch the full press conference below.

Jim Jones Shares Words Of Encouragement To Lil Tjay Following Near-Fatal Shooting

Jim Jones Doesn't Plan to Work With Max B When He's Released From Prison: 'F*ck Max B'

Lil Tjay was the victim of a near fatal shooting last week. Many musicians and fans alike sent out well wishes to the Destined 2 Win artist. Jim Jones even recently came out to share his words of encouragements to Tjay, and doubling down on his comments about being a rapper is “the most dangerous job.”

When speaking with HipHopDX, Jones was asked about his comments regarding rap being the most dangerous job, and he used LIl Tjay’s situation to back up his comments. “I stand on it,” Jones said. He then added “we have more rappers getting killed than we have weeks in the year. Shit, my prayers go out to Lil Tjay who just got shot up the other day, and I don’t even know his condition but, you know, it’s terrible out there. Every day they talk about a different rapper that just got shot or was involved in a shooting or something like that.”

Jones then said how rappers have a “50 percent chance of making it as a rapper and making it alive as a rapper.”

Even though a motive has not been discovered for the attack on Lil Tjay, Jones said that the shooting might have been over money.

“I don’t want nobody to ever get that twisted. Rap and music make a lot of money. Matter of fact, these rappers couldn’t get to the other money that they’re making if they didn’t have the music that they have. Nobody would give a fuck about them if they didn’t have some music that the people loved, so you gotta think about that.”

Following the shooting, Lil Tjay was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. At the time, he was in a questionable state, with doctors not knowing if he would survive. Recent reports indicate that since then, Tjay has been making significant progress towards recovery.

TMZ reported that Tjay is “awake and alert” and doctors were even able to remove his breathing tube. His voice also sounds like it did before the tragic incident.
