LeBron James Drags Laura Ingraham for Hypocritical Criticism of Drew Brees

LeBron James Drags Laura Ingraham for Hypocritical Criticism of Drew Brees

LeBron James has built a reputation for using his platform to amplify the voices of the Black Lives Matter movement. A few years ago when James and his peers spoke out politically, Fox host, Laura Ingraham, told them to “shut up and dribble.”

She had a different tune when NFL quarterback, Drew Brees, spoke about peaceful protests and how its disrespectful to the troops to kneel during the national anthem and the flag.

“If you still haven’t figured out why the protesting is going on. Why we’re acting as we are is because we are simply F-N tired of this treatment right here! Can we break it down for you any simpler than this right here???? And to my people don’t worry I won’t stop until I see change,” LeBron wrote.

Lebron James promised his people that “he won’t stop” using his voice and that’s exactly why he’s arguably the best NBA player of all-time.

UPDATE: Drew Brees Apologizes For “Insensitive” NFL Kneeling Comments After LeBron James + Celebs Rip Him

Drew Brees Apology

NFL superstar Drew Brees wants to make things right. The New Orleans Saints star has come forward to issue a much-needed apology after scolding players for kneeling during the national anthem.

Drew x Apology

On Thursday, Brees went to his social media pages to pour out his emotions. Drew acknowledged not realizing the severity of athletes kneeling to protest police brutality. In the post, NFL’s Drew Brees apologizes for his words.

“I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused. In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character.” -Drew Brees’ Instagram

Not Finished

Brees didn’t end his apology there. After the NFL superstar apologized, Drew Brees went the extra mile to explain how much support he has for equality amongst races.

“I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference. I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today. I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community. I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement. I will never know what it’s like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right. I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy. I am sick about the way my comments were perceived yesterday, but I take full responsibility and accountability. I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening…and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen. For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness.” -Drew Brees’ Instagram

Wait, There’s More

Since yesterday, various high-profile athletes have unloaded on Drew. Everyone from NBA’s LeBron James to New Orleans Saints player Michael Thomas addressed the controversial kneeling remarks.

“WOW MAN!! 🤦🏾‍♂️. Is it still surprising at this point. Sure isn’t! You literally still don’t understand why Kap was kneeling on one knee?? Has absolute nothing to do with the disrespect of 🇺🇸 and our soldiers(men and women) who keep our land free. My father-in-law was one of those” -LeBron James’ Twitter

NFL’s Drew Brees later apologized for his remarks on players kneeling

“Wow… after @kaepernick7took a knee.. #GeorgeFloyd dies from a knee.. during a time when America is divided.. @drewbrees finds time to let us know… “he will never agree with disrespecting the flag and players shouldn’t take a knee next season” Watch his body language and his face! Disgusting! But are we surprised? His statement echos the @NFL 1000 percent! As he participated in #blackouttuesday and 70percent of his team is African American and the city he plays in is 50 percent African American! FOH! @tmz_tv vid says it all! @drewbrees nobody cares about your grandparents “struggle” right now! Typical privileged athlete that lives off the culture but frowns on the culture at the same time! #JustMyOpinion” -Funk Flex’s Instagram

“We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that. He don’t know no better.” -Michael Thomas’ Twitter

Before You Go

In Brees’ initial interview, he explained his issues with players kneeling. Instead of addressing police brutality, Drew said he felt respecting the flag meant more.

“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States. I envision my two grandfathers, who fought for this country during World War II, one in the Army and one in the Marine Corp. Both risking their lives to protect our country and to try to make our country and this world a better place. So every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that’s what I think about. And in many cases, that brings me to tears, thinking about all that has been sacrificed. Not just those in the military, but for that matter, those throughout the civil rights movements of the ‘60s, and all that has been endured by so many people up until this point. And is everything right with our country right now? No, it is not. We still have a long way to go. But I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.” (Yahoo Finance)

Black Twitter Drags Fox Sports Host Jason Whitlock for LeBron Social Justice Criticism

Jason Whitlock has long been viewed as the biggest sellout in the Black community. Whitlock’s track record of criticizing and denigrating Black athletes has placed the Speak For Yourself host in the dog house with African-Americans who have heard him speak on social issues.

Whitlock is now going at LeBron James after the future Hall of Famer posted an image of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black shooting victim with the caption in part reading “We’re literally hunted everyday/everytime.”

Whitlock took issue with LeBron’s statement and responded on social media prompting Black Twitter to clapback at the Sports analyst.

If you don’t know who Jason Whitlock is, he’s been on the record attacking Serena Williams as a fat “underachiever,” whose accomplishments mirror Paris Hilton’s. He has said that LeBron James was too rich to be affected by racism after vandals spray-painted the N-Word on his Brentwood home, and has constantly trolled Colin Kaepernick for his activism.

Carmelo Anthony Recalls Kobe Bryant Being Supportive When he Hit ‘Rock Bottom’ While Being Unsigned

Carmelo Anthony was going through a rough patch before signing with the Portland Trail Blazers in November 2019. The 10-time NBA All-Star revealed that he hit “rock bottom” when he was a free agent.

“I don’t think nobody will understand what I went through emotionally to get through and to be where I’m at today. I’m talking about doubting myself. I’m talking about mentally … wanting to give up,” he said during a chat with Sue Bird, Maverick Carter, and Paul Rivera on the Uninterrupted’s WRTS: After Party.

Carmelo continued, “I hit rock bottom emotionally, and I had to build myself back up, basically by myself, to get here where I’m at today to be able to tell this story. So this season will always be one of the highlight chapters of any story that I’ll ever tell.”

During this time, the baller revealed that he reached out to Kobe Bryant and LeBron James during his 1-year hiatus from basketball. “I would have to say either Kobe… It’s not either… It’s Kobe and LeBron as far as being the smartest basketball minds, intellectuals, know everything about the game. Know everything about each player, the ins and outs. Those two guys are at the top when it comes to the mental part of this game. Chris Paul is definitely one of those guys. I would have to say those three.”

Carmelo Anthony talked about how much his life changed in the past four years. “I go from New York, making the All-Star Game, averaging 22, 23 [points] in the Eastern Conference, dealing with everything that I was dealing with off the court, organizational structure, just everything I was dealing with in New York. Getting traded the day before media day to OKC. Going to OKC, actually really liking it, didn’t work out for whatever reason, to going to Houston the following year to playing nine games. The first time I’ve ever come off the bench in 15 years. Ever. So that was an adjustment for me. Leading to having a year off. A year off, trying to rebuild myself — emotionally, mentally, spiritually… I don’t think nobody will understand what I went through emotionally to get through and to be where I’m at today. I’m talking about doubting myself. I’m talking about mentally, wanting to give up. — Carmelo Anthony explaining the last four years.”
