21 Savage Is Released By ICE On Bond

Nine days after he was arrested by U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE), rapper 21 Savage was released on bond today (February 12). Per reports, he has been granted an expedited hearing. The artist born She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was taken into custody on February 3 in Atlanta, Georgia. At that time, ICE labeled 26-year-old a “United Kingdom national,” and stated that he was “unlawfully in the United States.” Reports at that time indicated that the Slaughter Gang rapper faced deportation. Additional information suggested that Abraham-Joseph entered the U.S. lawfully in 2005. However, according to representatives, he was awaiting approval of a new visa at the time of his arrest this month. 21 Savage Didn’t Face Deportation Until He Became A Positive Influence The Daily Beast published a statement from 21’s team this morning. “In the last 24 hours, in the wake of the Grammy Awards at which he was scheduled to attend and perform, we received notice that She’yaa was granted an expedited hearing. Today, 21 Savage was granted a release on bond. He won his freedom.” On behalf of 21, lawyers thanked family, friends, and supporters. New Details Suggest 21 Savage Is A Victim, Not An Impostor In the last week, it was reported that JAY-Z and Roc Nation are assisting 21 Savage in his fight for freedom. Additionally, “rockstar” collaborator Post Malone wore a shirt with his name on it. Post performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Sunday night (February 10).
