LaVar Ball Says All His Sons on Roc Nation Could be ‘Explosive’

LaVar Ball has been pretty quiet since the Big Baller Brand empire came crashing down due to his business partner, however, we knew that wouldn’t remain for long. Now that all three of his sons have signed with Roc Nation, Ball is here to share his opinion.

The outspoken basketball father hit TMZ and detailed that the move could be “explosive.”

“If everything goes right, this thing can be explosive,” Ball said. “They said something I liked which is ‘Lavar, we wanna change the game. We wanna do something special.’ Now, that terminology right there means I’m supposed to be with you guys. Because my boys are special and like I said, I wanna change so it’s all good.”

LaMelo Ball declared for the NBA Draft earlier this week, which is set to put him the league with his brother Lonzo. You can hear it straight from LaVar below.

Here We Go Again: Big Baller Brand Minus Lonzo Ball Is Back, Launches New Website

LaVar Ball Announces Big Baller Brand Is Back, Minus His Son, Lonzo Ball

Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty

LaVar Ball hit the reset button on the family athletic apparel company Big Baller Brand and is trying again to make it a thing. The head of the Ball clan announced via his Instagram account the company has been resurrected from the dead.

Big Baller Brand’s first attempt at shaking the sportswear world was an epic fail. Let’s recap shall we, they got a big fat F-rating from the real BBB (Better Business Bureau). Plus lost the face of its brand, Lonzo Ball, amid accusations that co-founder, Alan Foster stole approximately $2.5 million from his personal and business accounts. That subsequently led to the original site being shut down, and now when you go to the BigBallerBrand.com website, you are redirected to Alan Foster’s website, where he promises to teach you how to be a baller…financially.

Now we are here, the brand has a new name, BigBallerBrandInc and LaVar announced in his typical fashion in an IG video that the brand is back and the new website is live. When you hit the site, you are immediately greeted by a photo of him Ball and his son, LiAngelo Ball, as well as different colorways of Gelo’s sneaker, the G3 Lux. If you care, you can still purchase pairs of Lonzo’s signature kick the ZO2.19 also.

WE ARE BACK! @bigballerbrand Link in bio.

A post shared by Lavar Ball (@lavar) on

In separate statements from both LaVar and  BBB Inc., the brands relaunch and focus on providing excellent customer service is touched on as well as the company’s current standing with Alan Foster.

“The Big Baller Brand is BACK and better than ever!” Ball claims. “Over the past year, my team and I have been working diligently to expand Big Baller Brand and improve the overall customer experience,” LaVar further added.

“LaVar Ball has put a great team of seasoned professionals in place to move the brand forward with exciting new products, along with signature shoes, and sportswear.”

“Unfortunately, Alan Foster continues to try and leverage the Ball Family name for his own personal gain. Alan Foster is a convicted felon who served 7 years in jail for defrauding people out of their money. He is a thief and con man and cannot be believed or trusted.”

We shall see, Big Baller Brand has a lot of work to do when it comes to repairing its reputation. Plus, with no face behind the brand that is in the NBA, it’s gonna be tough to push what Ball describes “the best merch in the game.” Are you guys excited to have the BBB back? Let us know in the comment section below.

Not At All Baller: LaVar Ball Accused Of Pilfering $2.5M From Family Companies

LaVar Ball and his overbearing presence in directing the basketball careers of his three sons cast a shadow on their potential trajectory, although he managed to craft business deals with them in mind. Now, a former business partner is excusing the Ball family patriarch of embezzling funds from the family’s various business holdings.

The Blast
shares in a new report that Ball’s former business associate, Alan Foster, filed suit and alleged that the father of Lonzo, LiMelo, and LiAngelo Ball has been pilfering funds from the business to fund his own personal needs. Foster was a partner in the Big Baller Brand athletic brand, and the Ball Sports Group, a sports and entertainment company.

From The Blast:

According to Foster, “In early 2016, in furtherance of LaVar’s intense desire to share in, or rise above, the glory and spotlight of his sons, LaVar approached Alan and asked for his business guidance on how to monopolize and gain fortune and fame from the names and likenesses of his three sons. In response, Alan suggested that the two men brand the “Ball” family name in order to create basketball and entertainment-related businesses. LaVar loved Alan’s idea and wanted to make sure that he was the biggest star in the family, notwithstanding the fact that he was broke, had no savings, poor credit and zero business acumen.”

“LaVar is a liar who fraudulently utilized BBB and BSG to fund his personal lifestyle,” the docs state.

Lonzo Ball filed a suit against Foster, alleging that it was him that took money away from the Ball business for his own personal gains.

Family Feud?: LaVar Ball Calls Lonzo Ball “Damaged Goods”

LaVar Ball Calls Lonzo Ball "Damaged Goods" During Argument

Source: James Devaney / Getty

The Big Baller Brand dynasty might be falling apart already. A recent episode of the family’s Facebook reality show Ball In The Family highlighted the rift between LaVar Ball and his son Lonzo Ball.

Looks like we aren’t the only ones tired of LaVar Ball and his antics. Lonzo Ball who’s frustrations with the BBB has been well documented is also seemingly on the outs with his pops. Since his arrival into the NBA, Lonzo has failed to live up to the hype the patriarch of the Ball family created around him. His two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers have been mid, at best, and marred by injuries.

Plus on top of that, the brand that folks thought would revolutionize the athletic sportswear world, BBB has been looking real shaky as of late. After Lonzo accused Big Baller Brand’s co-founder of Alan Foster of stealing money millions from him and the brand. As a result, the only Ball to make it the league so far, distanced himself from the brand. He also covered up his BBB logo tattoo, and trash his signature sneaker the Z02’s in an interview.

In the latest episode of the basketball family’s reality show, the rift between father and son is even more evident. Lonzo’s disdain of his dad is on full display as he opts not to partake in any activities involving LaVar. He reluctantly shows up to a meeting about the future of the brand and feels the brand should be renamed due to scandal. LaVar vehemently disagrees and takes a shot at his son in the process.

“When I come up with a name, and there’s somebody telling me to change it, that’s like telling me to change your name. That’s like people saying, ‘Hey, change Lonzo’s name to Alfonso on the fact that he been damaged goods for the last two years.’”

Looks like the Lonzo is genuinely over the theatrics and when he starts over fresh in New Orleans, he would prefer his father not be around. You can watch the entire episode here.

DL Hughley Defends LaVar Ball After ESPN Ban W/ Throwback Footage – “Same Energy Both Times, Same Hand Gesture”

LaVar Ball First Take Video

Comedian DL Hughley thinks ESPN and its popular “First Take” show owe banned celebrity dad LaVar Ball a major apology. The veteran funnyman went to social media this weekend to defend Ball after getting blown up over a televised expression and gesture.

Hughley hopped on Instagram Sunday with footage of Ball using his “switch gears” expression and gesture from 2017 and his now-infamous “First Take” appearance.

Ball has since come forward to deny having any sexual intention behind his on-camera remark.

“I don’t even have to respond to that on the fact that I meant no sexual intent. Nothing on the fact that ‘switch gears’ means change topics to me. Her mind in the gutter and she think of something else. Only time I hit on her is if she’s breaking in my house, and I mistake her for the boogeyman.”

A few days ago, ESPN reportedly decided to ban LaVar from all its platforms.

This week, “First Take” host Molly Qerim initially addressed the immediate aftermath of Ball’s remarks.

“I haven’t heard from anybody but to be honest – I shut my phone off after work. So I was just in chill mode. I think [boyfriend] Jalen [Rose] would have just liked if he had apologized to me publicly.”

LaVar Ball Is Back Talking Sh*t, Says Lonzo Is Better Than “Getting Old” LeBron

Celebrities At The Los Angeles Lakers Game

LaVar Ball is back, and he’s talking. Lonzo Ball’s dad hit up Undisputed, and Twitter has been reacting ever since.

Always one for the grandiose chatter, among today’s claims was telling Shannon Sharpe that his son Lonzo is better than LeBron James.

Ball was also adamant that LeBron James isn’t winning a championship in Los Angeles without Lonzo.

And you know Luke Walton caught all the slander, too. It’s obvious Ball is feeling a ways that the Lakers have his son on the trading block. It only means more fodder for Twitter enjoyment.

Peep some of the best reactions in the gallery.
