Soulja Boy and Bow Wow Trade Shots Ahead of Verzuz Battle

Soulja Boy's Car Nearly Drives Into Ocean During California Mudslides

Soulja Boy and Bow Wow know how to keep building the hype for their upcoming Verzuz battle, despite there not being a set date yet. The two rappers have been on social media for the last week taking jabs at each other.

On Sunday, Bow Wow took to Twitter to engage his fans in asking him any questions through the #AskBow hashtag. Soulja Boy then took the opportunity to throw some shots at his Verzuz opponent by asking him “How you get so lame?” Bow Wow then clapped back at Soulja, poking fun at his hairline. “I dunno I should ask you!” he replied. “Have you seen your hairline lately?”

In now-deleted tweets, Bow Wow posted pictures of Soulja Boy’s hairline with braids. “Where this man hairline go… GOT DAAAAYUMN!” he captioned the first picture. “Soulja got them braids women get when they getting a sow in,” he captioned another picture.

Soulja finally responded to Bow Wow’s shots, posting screenshots of the two’s net worths. “Damn @smoss im up 28 M’s on u Lil pee wee… u worried about hair cuts get ya money up,” he tweeted.

If this is any indication, then their Verzuz battle is surely going to be one for the books.

Soulja recently said that he would give up his red Lamborghini if he loses the battle, which is a catch 22 because no winner is chosen in the battle.

“If you win the Verzuz, I’ll give you the pink slip to my Lambo,” he said in an Instagram clip. “I bet $100,000 that you do not got your Lambo still. I still got my same Lambo. I bought my shit cash. I own it. Stop playing with me Bow Wow. You do not got your Lambo no more!”

Bow Wow then responded, saying that he doesn’t want that “old ass lambo,” adding that it was the same car from when they were younger and that Soulja “just wrapped it, it use[d] to be orange. That car got 300k miles on it. I’m cool.”

Swizz Beatz Clarifies ‘Took From The Black Culture’ Remark Aimed At Justin Timberlake During Verzuz With Timbaland

Swizz Beatz Clarifies Took From The Black Culture Remark Aimed At Justin Timberlake During Verzuz With Timbaland

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland faced off for their epic Verzuz rematch over the weekend, and Swizz made headlines after calling Justin Timberlake out.

After Timbo played “Sexy Back” and “Cry Me a River” the Ruff Ryder said, “He gotta admit that he loves the Black culture and he gotta be on this stage…you took from the Black culture, you give to the Black culture! Come to Verzuz and be a part of the Black culture!”

Swizz and Timbaland later went on Instagram live, and the Virginia native told Beatz he “did go a little hard on my brother JT, though,” to which Swizz responded, “Look man, I had to go hard. You heard how them songs were sounding on that stage? It was like JT was in the building. I was like, ‘Man!’”

“You know it’s hip hop,” he continued. “And I was just having fun. I don’t got no problem with JT, I don’t got no problem with nobody. We just having fun. It’s called Verzuz. You know, we doing our thing. Shoutout to JT. We can’t wait to get you on stage having fun cause you deserve it too.”

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with Swizz Beatz and think Justin Timberlake needs to do a Verzuz for the culture?

Danny Boy Refutes Keyshia Cole’s Claims That Tupac Told Her He Was Leaving Death Row Records

Danny Boy Refutes Keyshia Coles Claims That Tupac Told Her He Was Leaving Death Row Records

Looks like Danny Boy was tuned in to Keyshia Cole’s Verzuz celebration.

Keyshia Cole opened up about her surprising connection to Tupac Shakur during her Verzuz battle against Ashanti over the Summer.

MC Hammer introduced the singer was introduced to Suge Knight’s Death Row Records, and she claims Pac had plans to ditch Death Row to sign with Quincy Jones and wanted her to join him.

“I actually did know Tupac,” Cole said. “He wanted to sign me to Quincy when he was with Kidada, Quincy’s daughter, and he was gonna leave Death Row and go to sign with Quincy. He wanted me to go over there because he said that Death Row was not the place for kids.”

Danny Boy refuted Keyshia Cole’s claims in a recent interview with the Art of Dialogue.

“He ain’t told her shit,” Danny said. “Everybody was close to Pac when he died. Everybody. That’s all you hear. That’s what people do.”

Danny continued, “But Keyshia went up—Pac went up to her. How old was she? Twelve, 13-year-old? He let her hear some shit that could have really got him hurt? He wasn’t just gon’ walk and say anything about anybody, especially, ‘I’m finna leave Suge’ in front of a 13-year-old. He ain’t told her shit like that.”

According to Danny, Pac was too indebted to Suge for his departure to even be a thought.

Sean Paul Explains Why He’ll Never Do a Verzuz, Clarifies Why He Never Performed Baby Boy With Beyonce

Sean Paul Explains Why He'll Never Do a Verzuz, Clarifies Why He Never Performed Baby Boy With Beyonce

Sean Paul is one of the most successful crossover Dancehall artists, and he built his empire without participating in clash culture.

“But when you look at [me], Shaggy, Koffee, Konshens, Charlie Black, Gyptian, Serani, none of us clashed. And all of us stream amazing numbers. I’m one of the bigger ones so I would beg to differ that clashing actually pushed the whole genre somewhere,” the legendary artist responded when asked about his thoughts on Clash Culture being the foundation of dancehall and pushing the genre forward.

“I don’t really agree. I agree that at this point it holds us back. What it did make us was potent emcees because I had to be ready if anybody would come for me,” he added.

Sean Paul made headlines earlier this year for allegedly claiming that JAY-Z was jealous of his “Baby Boy” collaboration with Beyonce. But the Dutty Rock artist clarified his remarks in an interview with Two Bees TV.

“There were incidents that did happen when we were supposed to perform the song that was weird so maybe that started rumors, and they took it and flew with it.”

He added, “What I was saying was there was the MTV Awards in Europe, the Pro Tools started to skip while we were on stage and millions of people were watching us. It was weird. I never heard of that happening. Pro Tools don’t skip, you have to program it.”

Although Sean Paul didn’t get a chance to perform with Beyonce, he didn’t blame her husband and sent the couple well wishes. “I think the two of them are talented, extremely focused, and I have no problem with them just to clear it up on your end.”

Apple Reportedly Tried to Buy Verzuz Series

Peloton Verzuz Tim Swizz

There was a chance that Verzuz on Triller might not have been a thing.

According to a new report by Bloomberg, tech giant Apple reportedly tried to buy Verzuz during their previous partnership. The report claims that Apple never engaged in a bidding war for the internet battle series, but presented a purchase price that was ultimately rejected. While there is no idea what that number was, it must have been lower than what Triller presented.

Last July, Swizz, and Timb had entered into a partnership with Apple for people to be able to live stream Verzuz through Apple Music and Beats1 at the same time as the Verzuz Instagram live channel. Production budgets went up as well and artists were able to battle in the same room as each other too. However, March marked the end of their partnership when Verzuz was sold to Triller.

At the end of the day, it worked out best for Swizz and Timb, who started Verzuz last year by playing their own music over Instagram live through an aux cord. In selling Verzuz to Triller, the two super producers became “large shareholders” in Triller and were able to allocate a portion of their equity in Triller to the artists that had participated in a Verzuz battle.

Gucci Mane Reflects on Jeezy Verzuz: ‘It Was a Good Step Forward’

Gucci Mane Reflects on Jeezy Verzuz: 'It Was a Good Step Forward'

Gucci Mane cemented himself as a Hip Hop icon and has a reputation for finding talent early. But his journey hasn’t been a walk in the park.

Gucci has been in-and-out of jail and was involved in many high-profile beefs, including one with Jeezy which hit a peak when he killed his friend, Pookie Loc.

Gucci was acquitted after pleading self-defense.

The former foes went head-to-head in an epic Verzuz battle and Guwop told Billboard, “Looking back at it, it was tense but it was real.”

The most memorable moment of the Verzuz was when Gucci performed “Truth,” which was a diss track to Jeezy and reference the death of his pal.

Thankfully tensions didn’t rise and the pair performed “So Icy,” which is the record that started their beef in the first place.

“It was a good step forward,” Gucci said. “For us to do that and for nothing bad to happen, that was great.”

Gucci Mane celebrated his cover on Instagram reflecting on his career thus far. “I walked out of federal prison May 26, 2016 I had a 5 year plan to run my bread up and get my life together. Plan accomplished.” (The story is billed as “The Gucci Mane Five-Year Plan: Get out of jail. Get it together. Build a label empire.”)

Fat Joe Says LL Cool J Wants to do a Verzuz Battle Between Either Drake or Jay-Z

LL Cool J Responds to Indictments of Jam Master Jay's Killers: 'I’m Just Glad That They’re One Step Closer to a Conviction

Fat Joe was recently featured on an episode of The Morning Hustle, where he announced that he would be down for a Verzuz battle against 50 Cent.

“I think the guys in the trap, I think the girls, I think everybody [would] be like, ‘Oh wow, we got a Verzuz 50 Cent [with] Fat Joe? Oh, I’m tuning into that joint.’… That’ll be the ideal one,” he said. Fat Joe didn’t say why he’d like to go against Fif in a Verzuz, but the two have definitely had some beef.

Fat Joe also let the cat out of the bag on who LL Cool J said he wants to do a Verzuz against. “LL Cool J, let me tell you, he’s my idol. I wouldn’t even feel right, you know what I’m saying? I rap ‘cause of him,” he said, adding that “LL wants Jay-Z or Drake. That’s who LL Cool J allegedly wants. Jay-Z or Drake.”

Will this battle happen? Most likely not. But after getting Jeezy and Gucci Mane in the same room to go hit for hit, this matchup wouldn’t be impossible. However, there is a list of other rappers who want to go against Hov and Drizzy. Even though Snoop Dogg already battled DMX, the Long Beach MC suggested a matchup between him and Jay. However, 50 cent suggested that Drake go toe to toe with Lil Wayne. But according to the internet, Kanye and Drake might be the one the people want to see.

You can watch the full interview below.
