Demetrius Flenory Jr. Aka Lil Meech reveals the pressure he felt taking on the role of playing his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory.

Founder of the “Black Mafia Family,” Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory was incarcerated when his son Lil Meech was 5 years old. Now he finds himself at the perfect age to play his dad in the true-life drama story STARZ is bringing to television. Already renewed for season 2, BMF is just starting to scratch the surface of the “Black Mafia Family’s” story.

“No one’s credibility amounts to his. I just want him to tell me he’s proud- he’s seen it, and he’s happy I did it and I killed it.” Lil Meech shared with the Source. “Once I hear that, then it’s all good for me. That’s what I want for my family.” Meech added while explaining how high the stakes were for him to deliver on playing his dad in his acting debut.

Executive producer, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson shared Big Meech was in constant communication with his son Lil Meech and creator Randy Huggins throughout the whole process. 50 Cent and Randy Huggins also revealed the significance and impact of the “Black Mafia Family’s” story on today’s culture.

BMF follows the story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), from inner-city Detroit during the 1980s. Forming to create the most prominent drug trafficking organization in the country known as the “Black Mafia Family.” The Flenory brothers must balance their desire to grab a slice of the American Dream, with the desires of what their own parents want for them.

Watch Kash Doll who plays Monique Greene and the other cast members break down the process of getting prepared to transform themselves into true-life characters based in the 1980s.

We spoke with Russell Hornsby (Fences, The Hate You Give, Lincoln Heights), Michole Briana White (Malignant, Reed Between the Lines, Love That Girl), Da’Vinchi ( All American, Grown-ish, The Way Back) Steve Harris (The Practice, Law & Order, Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman). Along with executive producer and director Curtis “50 Cent Jackson and BMF executive producer and creator Randy Huggins ( Power, Star, Criminal Minds).

UP IN THE SOURCE | Blacc Zacc Breaks Down Why He is The Richest Rapper in South Carolina

“They call me the richest rapper in South Carolina, cause that’s just what I am. I been calling myself that for two years now and ain’t nobody challenge it yet.”

– Blacc Zacc

Blacc Zacc is one of the most unlikely rap stars.  But best believe he is every bit of a future headlining act.

Zacc is a South Carolina native who once had hoop dreams as he shares exclusively on this episode of Up in the Source, but love from music that developed early in his life eventually became his career.

“I always had a love for music. When I was young, the first song I wrote was for my momma,” Zacc shared. “I was real young and my step daddy had a studio at my apartment. I played around in it a little bit but once I graduated from high school I took it serious. It went from my neighborhood to people liking me in my city, to people all over.”

Additionally to the music, he wanted to be a businessman and give back to his community.

“What inspired me to be a businessman coming out of my neighborhood was [the fact] that no one ever did that before,” Blacc Zacc tells us.

The creator of Carolina Narco creator is a part of the charge to push Southern Hip-Hop forward with skyrocketing talent like Moneybagg Yo and Da Baby. He holds no punches as he details how closely the streets, drug culture, and a relentless grind has shaped how he approaches being a boss and becoming the “richest man in South Carolina.”

“They call me the richest rapper in South Carolina, cause that’s just what I am. I been calling myself for two years now and ain’t nobody challenge it yet.”

– Blacc Zacc

He stresses the grind. And while it seems like overnight, he
breaks down how he had to work and learn for ten years in order to lay the
foundation for such a successful career.

“I know everybody is talking the independent stuff but at heart every rapper want to get signed,” Zacc shared. “Whether it’s this amount of money, or whatever, if the situation is right you want to be signed. That’s when it clicked for me.”

With a titan like Interscope behind him, in partnership with South Coast Music Group, since September of 2019, the time is definitely now for Zacc.
His debut album features a blend of signature trap flare and elements of Latin music culture, setting a score for intense street stories. The album enlists Young Kio, OG Parker, Romaro and more for the production. Features include Yo Gotti and Stunna 4 Vegas among others. You can also catch him on the upcoming tour with Moneybagg Yo and 42 Dugg.

Be sure to check out the brand new Up in the Source episode below and check out Blacc Zacc’s Carolina Narco album here.

Source Report – Kanye West Encourages African-Americans to Part Ways With the Democratic Party

Kanye West is making a political statement with his fashion. The rapper has designed a line of T-shirts supporting the “Black Exit” campaign that encourages African-Americans to part ways with the Democratic Party. He debuted his designs this past Saturday at the Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., a meeting of young black conservatives organized by Candace Owens.

Danity Kane speaks out about Diddy. The one-time group of five women has cut it down to a trio. In a recent interview with The Daily Buzz, the now trio includes Dawn, Shannon and Audrey say Puff did not see a future in the girl group. The group’s most vocal personality, Aubrey, was pretty blunt about the situation Stating “Puff cared about himself and his pockets.”

Speaking of Diddy, news of the mogul’s breakup with his longtime girlfriend, Cassie, first made headlines last week. But Diddy wants her to know that she still means the world to him. “If anyone sees Cassie this weekend please tell her to listen to this song 100 times,” Diddy wrote alongside a screenshot of “The Lady in My Life,” from Michael Jackson’s Thriller album.

Tell us what you think about Diddy and Cassie’s relationship split?
