Over the weekend, someone desecrated the gravesite of slain rapper Pop Smoke, smashing the crypt and even attempting to drag the casket out.
According to authorities, the damage was done between 2:30 PM Friday and 2PM on Saturday and with no surveillance footage, there is no way to confirm.
According to reports, an eyewitness discovered the destroyed gravesite at Brooklyn’s Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday. There was reportedly $500 worth of damage done to the crypt and no suspects have been named or arrests that have been made.
Pop Smoke’s spot on the outer wall of a mausoleum within the grounds seemed to be singled out and horribly vandalized, with his marble plaque cracked, with his full name, Bashar Barakah Jackson, displayed on the marble.
The eyewitness, who was also a groundskeeper, said that the door-looking thing seemed to be a concrete slab that would presumably sit over Smoke’s casket, separating his body from another person above him. The black rectangular object also seemed to be part of Pop Smoke’s wall enclosure. They also said when they returned to the gravesite hours later, Pop’s plaque had been replaced with a blank slab, and there was caution tape around the area.
No Jumper’s host, Adam22, sparked controversy with his interview featuring Blockstar, recently released from jail for his alleged involvement in Pop Smoke’s killing.
The episode ignited a heated debate about ethics in hip-hop media. Amid the backlash, Adam22 has finally spoken out, defending the interview’s legitimacy and the platform’s role in addressing difficult conversations within the industry.
“I did that interview because I thought it was an important historical record,” Adam22 says. “I didn’t do that interview because I don’t care… That’s what a lot of people seem to think. ‘Adam just doesn’t give a f**k.’ That’s not the case at all. I did that interview because I thought it was an important historical record of somebody involved in one of the most tragic, insane stories in rap history.”
Of all the shocking moments from the interview, one that stuck was the lack of remorse from Blockstar. “It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’d go back. But I ain’t sorry. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it. All types of stuff. So, I ain’t sorry about it.”

WE tv premiered its latest docu-series, Hip Hop Homicides, which began with its first episode detailing the murder of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke.
Amelia Rose, a woman with Smoke the night of the murder in Los Angeles in February 2020, gives a candid but horrid account of the killing.
“Pop said he was going upstairs. I’m sitting on the bed and I’m starting to take off my clothes, and he said: ‘OK, I’ll come back,’” she recalled. “He was going to the restroom and so these were his last words.”
“This moment, it was like a couple seconds and I hear the noise,” Rose continued as she described hearing a sliding glass door open into the second-story bedroom. “The guy was in the mask and his gun was like… ‘Look at me,’ you know? His eyes made me so scared. They run to the restroom. Pop screamed, ‘What?!’”
“She heard a struggle coming from the shower area and heard [Pop Smoke] screaming,” LAPD Detective Christian Carrasco testified during a court hearing last year. “[Pop Smoke] ran out of the bathroom and then she heard a loud pop and [heard] [Pop] fall to the ground. Two other individuals began to kick him.”
Four men have been charged in Pop’s murder, including the alleged killer, who was 15 years old at the time of the murder. Police claim the motive behind the attack was to steal Pop Smoke’s diamond-encrusted Rolex and Cuban link chain. They only managed to swipe his watch and later sold it for just $2,000.
Pop Smoke’s untimely death occurred over two years ago, but his alleged killer is making headlines after pictures of him eating Pizza Hut while behind bars hit the internet.
Over the weekend, DJ Akademiks posted a pic of the now 17-year-old boy in prison with a Pizza Hut box on his bunk. In another image, the alleged shooter is seen looking at his smartphone with two Pizza Hut boxes and a brownie box on his bunk.
Fans of Smoke showed their outrage on social media, questioning how the alleged killer was able to obtain Pizza Hut pizza AND a cellphone while incarcerated.

Five people were arrested for Pop Smoke’s February 2019 murder. Out of the five suspects, Corey Walker, 19, and Keandre Rodgers, 22, are eligible for the death penalty if convicted on murder and robbery charges. The two minors, whose names are withheld because they are underage, were both charged with one count of murder and one count of robbery each.
According to a recent report from Complex Magazine, Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign Affiliate Tajay Dobson aka TDott Woo was shot and killed in his native Brooklyn. He was only 22 years old.
TDott, who is recognized for inventing the “Woo Walk”, recently inked a record deal with Million Dollar Music (MDM) shortly before his untimely death.
Dobson was killed outside of his home in Canarsie, Brooklyn early Tuesday afternoon(February 1). He was rushed to nearby Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
TDott is the second shooting victim in the Brooklyn drill rap scene in just two days, as Nas Blixky was shot and is in critical condition because of a preview of a diss track aimed at rapper PG-16.
