‘Daredevil’ The Latest Victim of The Netflix Snap, Fans Voice Their Frustration

Twitter Reacts To Netflix Canceling Daredevil

Another Marvel/Netflix original show bites the dust. After the premiere of its third season, Daredevil was rumored to be next in line to be canceled. Yesterday the streaming service confirmed the news that the man without fear will not be returning for a fourth season.

Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.

Those were the words of the mad titan Thanos issued to Thor, Loki, and Hulk before he all issued them the fade. It would seem Netflix was telling its Marvel shows the same damn thing. While the cancelations of Luke Cage and Iron Fist stung a little, this one felt like a punch in the gut.

No one really believed the streaming giant would pull the plug on the Charlie Cox led show especially after well-received season 3. Fans of the show reacted immediately with sorrow, confusion, and anger calling Netflix greedy and questioning how shows like 13 Reasons Why can still exist but Daredevil gets canceled?

It’s a legitimate question, but we may never learn the answer. With all of The Defenders seemingly getting the ax one by one leaving only Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Both shows are slated for new seasons but that could all change, and it looks like their cancelations are inevitable.

There is still hope that all of the shows will end up on Disney’s new streaming service but that is still a longshot. Hey maybe they can all end up in the MCU now, there is still hope for that as well. This one still hurts, and we just got Bullseye and the Kingpin back. You can peep all of the fallout from Daredevil being canceled in the gallery below.

‘Daredevil’ Canceled By Netflix and Marvel

Marvel's Daredevil

Marvel’s Daredevil has been canceled by Netflix and Marvel after just three seasons. But will the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen find a new home somewhere else?

Yesterday (Nov. 30), Marvel and Netflix announced the series would not be returning as confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter.

“We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note,” said Netflix via a press statement. “We’re thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years. While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel.”

This means the only Defender left on the Netflix roster is Jessica Jones after the cancelation of both Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Along with The Punisher, that leaves only two Marvel entities on Netflix.

Daredevil showrunner Erik Oleson had just pitched season four to Netflix and Marvel a couple of weeks ago.

Per usual the hope is Daredevil finds a home on Disney’s forthcoming Disney+ streaming service, and Netflix rival.

New ‘Daredevil’ S3 Trailer Reveals Deadly Foe Bullseye

This month, the world of Marvel welcomes back the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, aka Daredevil, for the third season. With the reemergence of Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin, a new and extremely formidable foe has also entered the stage.

In a stunning new trailer coming in at over two minutes, the journey of Matt Murdock continues as he rises back from the dead after the conclusion of The Defenders and Danny Rand taking over in his role as a protector as the Iron Fist. But while Murdock wrestled with his demons and his purpose as a crime-fighting, rule-breaking vigilante, it appears he is embracing a darker side of himself while raining down violence in the same fashion as those he aims to stop.

Fisk is looming and the criminal mastermind has hatched a plan to not only boost his image to the city but also frame Daredevil as a reckless crusader in an attempt to turn New York City against him. In the trailer, it appears Fisk has shifted the public perception of Daredevil and as the two men prepare to clash, the appearance of a man clad in the all-red Daredevil costume with similar skills to Murdock appears.

While it isn’t known in the trailer who the mystery man is, savvy fans connected the dots to figure out that it was none other than Bullseye as noted in this ComicBook.com report. In the comics, Bullseye is a proverbial thorn in the side for Murdock, who is already feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders along with his driving purpose. And as expected, the fight scenes are especially top-notch as they were over the past two seasons.

Netflix will debut Daredevil’s third season on Friday, Oct. 19.

Kingpin Back: Trailer For ‘Daredevil’ Season 3 Drops, Matt Murdock Lives

For those who are entrenched in the Marvel’s small universe on Netflix, then you’re in the know that Matt Murdock, aka the Daredevil, lives on to fight again. In a new trailer, along with Murdock’s revival, his greatest nemesis, the Kingpin, is back on the streets as well.

In the trailer, Murdock, who is thought to be dead to his Defenders compatriots and Iron Fist taking on his role New York City, is clearly back to unleash justice on Hell’s Kitchen and beyond. In the clip, Murdock dons all Black while Wilson Fisk puts on the iconic all-white suit made famous in the comics version of the character.

In many ways, the pair clashing heads once more makes sense as Fisk and Murdock both think that their style of justice for the city is best, and both of their motives and methods can be called questionable.

The drama unfolds in full next month on October 19 when Marvel’s Daredevil launches season three. Check out the trailer below.
