‘Atlanta’ Season Three Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Coronavirus continues to disrupt your regularly scheduled programming as Atlanta season 3 has reportedly been postponed.

According to Deadline, Donald Glover’s signature series is just one of a few FX original programs that have been postponed.

The other shows are Fargo, Snowfall season 4, and the new comic book series “Y: The Last Man.” Production for these series will be suspended for at least two weeks.

President Donald Trump declared a national state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump said the move will free up about $50 billion in emergency funding to assist “our shared fight against the disease.”

Atlanta executive producer Stephen Glover had a little fun about the postponement.

He then followed it up with a lighter note.

Coronavirus has shaken up the entertainment and sports world considerably as people are waiting for things to return to normal.

‘Snowfall’ Cast Talks Late Legend John Singleton & Calamitous Season 3 Storyline [Exclusive]

Snowfall officially returns to FX tomorrow night and if you don’t already know, this is must-watch television. A John Singleton creation, the late legend’s crime series is a retelling of Black American history as the show delves into the truth about the United States crack epidemic. Just before screening the premiere episode in Times Square last week, the cast dropped by the iOne Digital offices in NYC to talk about their own understanding and awareness of the crack epidemic, prior to taking on their respective roles in Snowfall.

“I was very aware,” Angela Lewis, who plays Aunt Louie on the hit series, told HipHopWired.  “I from Detroit and I have family members and friends who were affected by crack. I was also aware that this was happening in most major cities, if not all the major cities, in the country. So, for me, it was important that I understood if I’m going to do this role: Why am I doing it? What am I bringing to the story? And, are we telling the truth?”

“It was such a humongous relief,” she continued. “After getting the role, meeting the creators, meeting John [Singleton], meeting my fellow cast mates — knowing that we were all on the same page, that we’re here to tell the truth of this story. We’re here to show the world that the Black community didn’t just inflict crack upon itself.”

Damson Idris plays Franklin Saint, the head of an emerging drug empire partly responsible for the widespread distribution of crack in Los Angeles. The English actor says he was aware of drugs plaguing our communities, but a trip to Skid Row in L.A. further opened his eyes.

“I was in London and I’d say crack cocaine came to my community in Peckham probably around ’92, ’93. But, more specifically with America, it was when I came in 2015 for the role and I took a walk Downtown LA, Skid Row, and I saw a kind of blend of crack cocaine addicts and the mentally ill,” Idris explained. “I learned that a lot of the mentally ill were released from institutions in LA and then dropped at Skid Row, where they begin to blend in with addicts. If you go to Skid Row today, I always say I don’t think anyone in their right minds in the ‘80s would have sold that drug if they knew what it would mean for 2019.”

Amin Joseph, who plays Franklin Saint’s uncle in the show, weighs in on that note. Tying his thoughts back to season 3 of Snowfall, Joseph says each character begins to see the consequences of their actions.

“Each one of these characters that we play are making their own self-centered decisions,” Joseph said. “They only see the universe through the perspective that they have. Hindsight is 20/20, so now some of our viewers understand the significance of these choices that people were making back then. But, even in our lives today, we don’t know what the ramifications will be for all the choices that we’ve made. I think they’re making the choices to empower themselves, based on what they know. That’s what this third season is about, too — conflict, choices, and starting to see some of the changes that are going on while we’re making this empire.”

Tune into Snowfall tomorrow night, July 10, at 10 p.m. ET on FX, plus a season 3 teaser up top if you missed that.

Serious business. Serious money. Serious power. Season 3 of FX’s hit drug-drama Snowfall returns on July 10th and the official trailer has been released. The series follows the stories of several characters whose lives are fated to intersect: 19-year-old drug dealer Franklin Saint, Mexican luchador Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata, CIA operative Teddy McDonald, and a Mexican crime boss’s niece, Lucia Villanueva.

According to the show’s description: “The series is set during the break of crack cocaine in 1983 and how it has influenced the culture of the city of Los Angeles. Season 3 continues the tale of the early days of the crack cocaine epidemic/empire, Snowfall Season 3 is set in the summer of 1984 as rock is spreading like wildfire through Los Angeles. Local police fight to stem the tide, while Teddy (Carter Hudson) works hard to make sure the flow of cocaine doesn’t stop as the DEA turns up the heat on Colombian suppliers.

Season three of Snowfall is set to debut nearly three months after the sudden death of creator/executive producer/director/writer John Singleton. And while he will remain listed as executive producer of the drama, FX won’t comment as to how much involvement Singleton had on the final season.

The finale will be directed by Sunu Gonera, a job done by Singleton for both the first and second season finales, according to Deadline.

‘Snowfall’ to Return to FX For A Third Season

After much speculation, the summer will be even hotter on the small screen. It has been announced that Snowfall Season 3 is returning this summer to FX on July 10. The hit drama will take viewers back in time to the 1980s, in Los Angeles, during the time in which the pervasive force of crack cocaine epidemic first hit the streets.

Set in Los Angeles in 1983, the series revolves around the first crack epidemic and its impact on the culture of the city.

The series, which made its debut on FX back on July 5, 2017, was created by acclaimed writers Eric Amadio (Stuntmen), Dave Andron (Justified) and legendary film director and writer John Singleton (Boyz N the Hood). Tragedy came upon the series the middle of production on Season 3.  Snowfall will be without the watchful eye of Singleton – who also served as director and executive producer – who just passed away after being taken off life support after rendered comatose from an April 17 stroke.  Yet, production on the third season of Snowfall will continue, in Singleton’s honor.

“It has been great to see Snowfall’s audience and critical acclaim grow in its second season,” said Eric Schrier, Co-President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “The creative team has done a fantastic job and we have high hopes for season three.”

The series stars Damson Idris as Franklin Saint, a young street entrepreneur; Carter Hudson as CIA operative Teddy McDonald; and Emily Rios as Lucia Villanueva and Sergio Peris-Mencheta as Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata, the drug-running couple who discovers the potency of crack and tries to exploit it.
