Hulu Pulls ‘Astroworld: Concert From Hell’ Documentary Amid Backlash

astroworld concert from hell

Hulu has pulled an ABC documentary about Astroworld after facing social media backlash. ‘Astroworld: Concert From Hell‘ premiered on the streaming platform yesterday, but was quickly pulled following negative reactions from viewers.

One tweet that went viral said the making of the documentary was in ‘poor taste’ and there hasn’t been enough time to ‘fully discuss’ the tragedy.

“The legal cases haven’t even started. Great documentaries are done when all the facts are laid out. Not enough time has passed to fully discuss this.”

See the some of the Tweets below.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival turned into horrific events when the crowd of 50,000 people surged, resulting in a panic that left 10 people dead and hundreds injured.

Scott is facing more than 120 wrongful death, personal injury and premises liability lawsuits stemming from the tragedy.

One Twitter user expressed triggering emotions after watching the documentary.

“I watched the Astroworld documentary that Hulu put out and… I literally cried throughout the whole thing it genuinely breaks my heart.”

The 50-minute special was actually produced by ABC’s Houston affiliate KTRK.

Hulu released a statement letting viewers know that the platform hosted the ‘Astroworld: Concert From Hell’ documentary but did not produce it.

“This was an investigative local news special from ABC13/KTRK-TV in Houston that originally aired on November 20th. This was not a Hulu documentary and has since been removed to avoid confusion.”

The documentary is still available to watch on KTRK’s website.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Documentary now Available for Streaming on Hulu

Video Emerges of Man Attempting to Confront 6ix9ine in NYC

Hulu has released a new documentary that recounts Tekashi 6ix9ine’s rise and fall from his humble days in Brooklyn to his meteoric, controversial fame to the court case that effectively damaged his career.

69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez dropped on Monday. In the doc, producer Vikram Gandhi digs deep for personal friends of the “Gummo” rapper as well as his gang affiliated associates that he met on his journey to fame.

The documentary explores 6ix9ine’s childhood including his original crew of artists he used to run with as well how the murder of 6ix9ine’s step-father changed him. Hernandez was 13 years old when his gang affiliated step father was killed which some in the doc allege led to his need for a father figure.

6ix9ine’s baby mom, Sara Molina, is heavily involved in the doc explaining that her daughter’s father even before the fame was not only the same troll the world eventually knew, but was also abusive in their relationship.

6ix9ine was always controversial, but it was the 2018 RICO charges that exposed the rapper’s gangsta persona to be inauthentic at best. 6ix9ine became the FBI’s star witness, snitching on many of his Nine Trey Blood associates including “Shotti” Jordan who acted as 6ix9ine’s manager and “Harv” Ellison. Ellison is currently serving a more than 20- year jail sentence and Jordan will serve 15 years.

According to Gandhi, 6ix9ine’s management declined to be interviewed for the project, however the producer acknowledges at the end that he may have played right into the rapper’s hand by producing the documentary which could ultimately give Tekashi more of the clout that he desperately seeks.

EXCLUSIVE: Check Out A Clip From The Season Finale Of Hulu’s ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’

Exclusive Wu-Tang: An American Saga Clip

Source: Hulu / Screenshot

The 10-episode arc of the opening season of Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga comes to a close this coming Wednesday (October 23), and Hip-Hop Wired has an exclusive clip for the masses. In the scene, Bobby attempts to coax the brooding D-Lover into joining the rest of the Shaolin Swordsmen in recording some music.

Bobby “RZA” Diggs, played by Ashton Sanders is seen playing some tracks over the phone after trying to ring Dennis “Ghostface Killah” Coles’ home line and leaving a lengthy message on his answering machine (remember those?). Bobby, who is trying to rally the sprawling and burgeoning Wu-Tang Clan into one cohesive unit, blasts recordings of what sounds like Ol’ Dirty Bastard and the GZA trading bars.

D-Lover, played by Siddiq Saunderson, angrily turns down the live-recorded message but then raises the volume up and bobs his head with an approving smile.

The scene comes from the episode “Assassination Day,” which borrows a song title from Ghostface Killah’s 1996 solo debut, Ironman.

The episode will be ready for streaming on Wednesday, October 23.

Check out the clip below.

Wu Tang American Saga

We’re only a few weeks removed from Showtime wrapping up their in-depth 4-part documentary Of Mics And Men, but for those OG Hip-Hop heads who can’t get enough of their Wu-Tang fix, Hulu got some ish in the chamber about to pop off.

Beginning September 6th Wu-Tang fans will be able to once again relive life in the 80’s and 90’s when they watch how 9 teenagers struggling on the streets of Staten Island went on to become Hip-Hop legends when Wu-Tang: An American Saga drops on Hulu. Written and created by The RZA and Alex Tse, the series will follow the pre-superstar lives of Wu-Tang’s clan members and show how their hardships helped them to become a family and ultimately rap superstars.

Though most of the cast consists of up and coming actors that fans won’t be familiar with, Hip-Hoppers will be quick to recognize Dave East filling the shoes of none other than M-E-T-H-O-D Man! Here’s to hoping his acting can capture the fire and spirit that made Hip-Hop’s Johnny Blaze a fan favorite clan swordsman.

Check out the trailer for Wu-Tang: An American Saga below and let us know if this will be enough for you to subscribe to Hulu come September.
