Today in Hip-Hop History: 2Pac’s Third Posthumous Album ‘Until The End Of Time’ Dropped 19 Years Ago

On this date 19 years ago, Tupac’s third posthumous album Until The End Of Time was released on the Amaru/Death Row imprint.

Recorded while ‘Pac was an artist on Death Row Records with material taken from studio sessions for All Eyez On Me and Makaveli: The Don Killuminati 7 Day Theory, Tupac’s first double album and seventh full length studio album is one of the best selling Hip Hop albums of all time.

Produced primarily by the late Johnny J, songs like “Letter 2 My Unborn”, “Happy Home”, When Thugz Cry” and even the album’s title track are remixes by other producers, however, the ideas from the tracks are still in tact. Johnny J, whose real name is Johnny Jackson, died in 2008 in an apparent suicide while serving three years in prison, but many believe that he was killed rather than to be paid the millions he was owed in royalties by Suge Knight and Death Row Records for the records produced.

With 29 tracks saturated with Tupac’s closest associates and recent signees Outlawz, Shakur’s energy andf legacy is a preserved tine capsule within itself. Completed during studio visits in which ‘Pac himself knew would be some of his last, at least with Death Row Records, so for a lot of Tupac’s cult followers this is their holy grail.

Salute to the late, great Tupac Shakur(RIP), his mother Afeni Shakur(RIP), his pops Mutulu Shakur, brother Mopreme, The Outlawz, the late Johnny J(RIP), Big Syke(RIP), Hussein Fatal(RIP), Yaki Kadafi(RIP) and everyone who took part in making this album a Hip Hop classic!

2Pac Statue Gets Fried For Looking Nothing Like Late Rapper

Array

Source: Supplied by WENN.com / WENN

The late Tupac “2Pac” Shakur has ebene immortalized in art pieces many times over since his tragic 1996 death. A photo depicting Pac’s likeness made rounds over the weekend with many noticing that the work looked nothing like the late rapper.

Twitter user and YouTuber @lajoy1x posted an image of the statue, claiming that it was located in Dallas, Texas asking followers and observers about their thoughts on the final work. Swiftly, other fans chimed in to note that the statue, which is indeed real, was never in Dallas but instead once stood in front of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Ga.

In 2015, the late Afeni Shakur sold the center and the statute was later removed and a new piece was slated to be constructed and announced three years ago and still is in development according to accounts.

The statue itself has garnered a boatload of commentary after it went viral, with the jokes of how much it doesn’t look like 2Pac coming in droves. At first glance, it does appear to look nothing like 2Pac but with some squinting and a little imagination, perhaps there is a slight resemblance. But overall, Twitter has been clowning the statue, with one user hilariously stating that it looked like veteran actor Louis Gossett, Jr. more so than the Hip-Hop superstar.

We’ve scoured Twitter to get some of the best reactions and commentary regarding the Tupac “2Pac” Shakur statue below. If we missed any of your faves, sound off in the comments section below.

Former President Of Iran Quotes Tupac To Troll The United States On Twitter

Tupac’s back! This time in Iran!

Well, not exactly, but the former president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took to Twitter yesterday to take shots at the U.S. government on the 52nd anniversary of the birth of the Black Panther Party of Self Defense.

Tupac’s mother, the late Afeni Shakur, was on the infamous “Panther 21” who was pregnant with the rap icon when she was on trial for an alleged explosives attack on a ueens police station in 1969.

The former Iranian president’s criticism of the United States government comes amid looming U.S. sanctions expected to cripple Iran’s economy further.

Tupac Shakur Estate Settles 5-Year-Old Lawsuit, Wins Back Unreleased Music

The five year fight that began with ‘Pac’s mom is finally over and the Shakur estate has come out victorious.

Back in 2013, Afeni Shakur sued Entertainment One in order to attain several of ‘Pac’s unreleased masters. It has been reported that the estate has settled the lawsuit and will gain possession of the recordings from Entertainment One, which is valued well into the six-figure range.

The first lawsuit, which was over the royalties of the slain icon’s 2007 posthumous release “Beginnings: The Lost Tapes,” left the Shakur estate waiting in the wings for the million dollar settlement, but the lawsuit continued in the hands of the estate’s trustees, even after Afeni passed away in 2016.

This weekend (September 29), the estate gained an astounding victory, with “Pac and Afeni’s work still in tact.
