The 2023 Golden Globe Awards were last night; you know what everyone is talking about: fashion! At every award show, besides who the winners are, people are tuned in to see who is wearing what. And per usual, there were many looks we loved and a couple of looks we could do without. One man, in particular, caught everyone’s attention with his comfortable ensemble.
Donald Glover, akaChildish Gambino, showed up to the Golden Globes in silk pajamas. When explaining his outfit before the show, the Atlanta producer wanted to be comfortable enough to sit in a chair for three hours. A sharp-shouldered jack over cream silk pajamas is what Yves Saint Laurent came up with for Glover. Another thing that stood out about Glover was his mustache! He is sporting it pretty thick these days.
The Feels Like Summer rapper was at the 80th Annual prestigious awards show hoping to win Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for Atlanta. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the trophy Jeremy Allen White won for his role as Carmy in The Bear.
Since Atlanta came out, Donald Glover has taken a break from Childish Gambino. Can you blame him? The TV series has been regarded as one of the best shows of this generation! Atlanta has won Golden Globes, NAACP Image Awards, EMMY Awards, and the Writer’s Guild of America Awards. Although Donald Glover has been successful, Childish Gambino isn’t going away. While talking with Laverne Cox, she asked him about his music career, to which he responded that he is making music and still has a thing for it.
“I’m making music right now. I love it. I’m actually in the studio. I’ve been bringing people in, like secret people, working on little things. I’ve been just making it for fun right now. But soon something will happen. I promise.”

In a recent interview with VladTV, former drug kingpin FreewayRick Ross and director Mike Ho shared some insight into Ross’s upcoming biopic. Ross shared that he has been working on his documentary for 35 years and has been looking for the right director to handle his story with care, unlike the show Snowfall, which is loosely based on his story.
“It be hard for me to sit there and watch sometimes,” Ross said. “It’s so much bullshit. This is really history that they’re fucking with. Because people know that it’s some real in that show. This is really our history. This would be like taking slavery and playing with slavery; that’s how delicate the story really is. And for somebody to take it and butcher it up and do what John Singleton did; or allowed them to do. I don’t care who did it.”
Director Mike Ho seemed eager to be working wit h Ross on bringing his story to the big screen. He too wants to handle Ross’s story with care and give audiences the “raw” and “uncut” story of Ross’s life.
“And one of the first things that I said when I sat down with him was like, if we’re gonna tell your story, we gotta be unsafe,” Ho said. Because I feel like when everyone approaches something with him, even the shows that he’s not happy with, all the stuff you hear about Freeway, it’s always a safe version of him. We’ve never seen the raw and uncut true story of what Ross is saying.”
When asked if there is a certain actor they are eying for the starring role, both men agreed that Donald Glover would be the best person for the job, even saying that he might make a good co-director as well.
“I’m always down to collaborate,” Ho said. “As a director, every actor is a director to me in the sense of understanding a scene and getting things done. But I think he would be brilliant for it. He was the first name that kind of came up over dinner. And he’s just a genius at what he does.”
The fourth and final season of the hit FX series Atlanta has been announced with a premiere date. A “Back to the A”teaser was released over the weekend showing the four main characters, along with many references to previous episodes throughout the series.
The characters are set to return to their hometown of Atlanta this season, after last season took place in Europe. Donald Glover’s series Atlanta won five Emmy Awards for the first two seasons, and season three which premiered May 10 is nominated for three more.
Episodes from the final season are scheduled to begin in September, without a specific date announced yet.

Still no word on when Atlanta is coming back since its 3rd season has been delayed (for two years now), but it’s not like Donald Glover is just chilling at home. The multi-talented actor will be starring in a remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith alongside actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge that’s set to drop next year via Amazon Prime.
The OG Mr. and Mrs. Smith starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as secret assassins and dropped in 2005. It was Glover who revealed the remake is in the works via social media.
The project was announced on Instagram — in pandemic fashion, quite literally. Waller-Bridge, 35, wore pajamas to film herself striking a pose in a doorway — the same leg lift Jolie, 45, did for the film’s movie poster and promotional materials. Glover, 37, filmed a bit of himself flossing — the dance, not the dental routine — to celebrate.
The videos, which originated in Glover’s Instagram Stories, were also reposted by Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios.
According to Glover, the project is via New Regency and Amazon Studios in collaboration with writer Francesca Sloane and is scheduled to release via Amazon Prime Video in 2022.
You might have seen Glover as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story which also included Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the voice of droid L3-37. The same robot Calrissian had, let’s say, an affinity for.
