Mannie Fresh Due To Release A Few Unreleased ‘Carter V’ Sessions

Prior to Tha Carter V, even Lil Wayne could admit it had been a long while since he rapped over a Mannie Fresh Beat. Although he had a falling out with Birdman and Cash Money records, he and Fresh proved their bond over music is bigger than any feud.

Getting back to work, Fresh helped Tunechi satisfy his craving fans. Even as Tha Carter V makes its way across streaming platforms and radio airways, According to Fresh, there is still a few leftover tracks which didn’t make the final cut.

In an interview with Shaheem Reid for LiveXLive, Manny informed fans that he would release those leftover tracks himself.

“The last time we worked on the Carter. A lot of people don’t know but we got probably did 13 songs. We dumbed it down to 2, and we did that in like three days. So the chemistry is still there, still crazy. And dude is like ‘let this ride’ and I’ll put those songs out so the world will get to hear Mannie Fresh x Carter. It will be the ‘Fresh Files’.”

Yet Fresh didn’t offer a date as to when exactly fans can access those Fresh Files. Still, this is exciting news considering Lil Wayne just received the “I Am Hip Hop” Award at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Indeed, Wayne is apart of Hip Hop. Without him, whose to say Cash Money’s business would be as fruitful as it is? Not to mention, without him Drake would just be Aubrey. Meanwhile, the only Barbie we would identify would be made by Mattel.

Lil Wayne Has Not Paid His Baby Mama Nivea For ‘Carter V’ Feature

Show Nivea the money.

The Carter V had a number of notable features including Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and Nicki Minaj. One of the most surprising features was from Wayne’s ex, Nivea, on “Dope New Gospel.” The track was allegedly expected to feature Drake, but of course, that did not happen. According to Tunechi, his verse was not able to clear before the release of the album. Nivea stopped by the Breakfast Club recently to speak on her contributions to Carter V.

According to Nivea, the song was written a year prior to the album’s announcement for release.

“We did that song a year ago,” said Nivea. “I wrote the hook and sent it back and he said ‘I love it!’”

After sending the song back to Weezy, Nivea claims she did not hear any word about it, until a month before the Carter V release. When Wayne called to inform Nivea that she had made the album, she was ecstatic. Although she has yet to be paid for the feature, she says there is no malice between herself and Wayne.

Nivea and Wayne were engaged twice, but called off the engagement both times. The “Don’t Mess with My Man” artist gave birth to their son, Neal Carter in 2009. Nivea says Weezy has never missed child support and has always taken care of her and their son. Hopefully, Wayne is not following in the footsteps of Birdman’s history of not paying people.  As a result, she knows that she will receive compensation for her feature very soon.

Currently, Lil Wayne holds 19 of the 50 tracks spots on the Billboard’s Streaming Song chart. In addition, 22 songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart upon its release.

‘Tha Carter V’ is Flirting with Going Gold in Its First Week

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V was met with a very warm reception in reviews and also numbers. For the first week, the fifth installment in the series is predicted to bring in a strong opening effort of 475-525k units in the first week.

C5’s release carries a large number of pure album sales as well. Hits Daily Double reports of the total units moved, 165-180K were of pure sales. Wayne will be the third highest debut of 2018 behind Drake and Travis Scott, respectively.

Overall it has been a great week for Lil Wayne. In addition to the strong effort, Weezy F has a merch collection online to celebrate the release and will possibly see an uptick in numbers with the #UproarChallenge beginning to take over social media.

Fans Speculate True Release Date for ‘Tha Carter V’

All yesterday [September 20] fans anticipated Tha Carter V being released at midnight. Although there was never any official announcement from Lil Wayne himself, fans were adamant about such a notion — so much so that they found themselves highly disappointed in Lil Wayne when the album didn’t drop.

But here’s the catch. Floyd Mayweather took to Instagram posting the album cover art with the caption #21. James Harden then took to Instagram to post the album cover art with the caption #13. Odell Beckham Jr. posted the album cover art on his Insta-story, while Reginae Carter posted the album cover art with the caption #C5. All but Reginae posted and deleted leaving everyone to wonder if Carter V was set to be released at midnight on September 21st but some unforeseen obstacles postponed the release or if  Carter V was ever even going to be released on that date.

According to TMZ, a source close to Wayne explained, “the hype surrounding September 21 as the release date for Carter V was all generated by pure speculation that somehow morphed into conspiracies. Fact is … all Young Money did was tease the cover and NEVER once mentioned an album release date.”

Reginae Carter Teases ‘Carter V’ on Instagram

Reginae Carter supports her dad via Instagram post.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen a number of teases for Lil Wayne’s long-awaited album, Carter V. After winning his lawsuit to be released under Cash Money earlier this year, the “Lollipop” artist became the majority owner of Young Money under Universal. This was long overdue. The 35-year-old rapper was responsible for recruiting the Young Money crew that included Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. These artists have all branched off to amazing success stories under the Young Money flagship.

Last week, it was reported that Carter V would be released today, but as of now, there is no album. Despite its delay, Weezy has gotten support from not only his daughter but friends as well. Digital media extraordinaire, Karen Civil, noticed Floyd Mayweather, Odell Beckham Jr., and James Harden posting the roman numeral “V” in support to fuel the album’s anticipation.

Reginae did the same on Thursday night, leading many to believe the release was near.

It is clear that no one when the Carter V will be released. Everyone knows that Weezy wants his fans to hear it. With everything he has been through over the past 4 years, it is only right to drop the album.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Tunechi will be honored with the “I Am Hip Hop” Award at this year’s, BET Hip Hop Awards. We’ll continue to keep a close watch for clues on the Carter V‘s release.
