Tupac’s Bandanas to be Auctioned for Up to $4K

Tough times are coming to America so everyone is looking for a quick buck. Highsnobiety reports that a “very close family friend” of Tupac Shakur is auctioning a blue and red bandana owned and worn by him.

The outlet reports they’re in “very good” condition and there’s proof that it actually belonged to the late rapper.

Not only is Tupac a lyricist, actor, and poet, but he’s also a fashion icon. His bald head, nose ring, and bandanas have become iconic looks in the culture. He was also instrumental in introducing high-end brands like Versace to the culture.

Gotta Have Rock and Roll predicts the memorabilia will be auctioned for $2,000-$4,000. Other auctioned items include multiple handwritten letters and lyrics sheets, and original liner notes of Tupac’s Makaveli. The rapper’s jewels and a signed picture with him and The Outlawsz.

Talib Kweli Says The New Black Star Album With Madlib Is Done

Nearly two years ago, Yasiin Bey spilled the beans that Black Star was at work on a sophomore album. In February of 2018, the artist formerly known as Mos Def told Colorado audiences that he and Talib Kweli were working on an album with Madlib. “New Black Star with Madlib, Talib Kweli, Yasiin, coming soon,” the Brooklyn MC said, “All Madlib, all day. 2018, Madlib, Black Star. Madlib Black Star.” The project was touted as an official follow-up to 1998’s Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star. Now past the 20th-anniversary (which included some touring), Talib gave Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 show an update that this project is completed. The news came in a clip that celebrates Gang Starr’s One Of The Best Yet album release. Joined by DJ Premier, Ebro video conferences O.O.T.B.Y album guests including Royce 5’9, Kweli, Nitty Scott, and M.O.P.’s Billy Danze. Black Thought, Yasiin Bey & Freddie Gibbs Educate MCs Over A Madlib Beat “So, Black Star Madlib is a thing?” Ebro asks, while speaking to Talib. “Yes. That’s a confirmed thing; I listen to it all the time,” Kweli responds.

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s 1st Video From Their New Album Is Criminal Minded

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib have released the third single (and first music video) to their upcoming Bandana album. A follow-up to 2014’s Pinata, the major label-backed Bandana is arriving on June 28 via Keep Cool/RCA Records. The upcoming collection of songs is confirmed to feature Killer Mike, Pusha-T, Yasiin Bey, and Black Thought, among others. Following February’s “Flat Tummy Tea” and March’s “Bandana,” “Cr*me Pays” proves that this new music from this dynamic duo is worth the wait. The video pulls from 1970s “grind-house” cinema, especially Westerns. Gibbs presents his visions of a nice life after Rap and the streets. The video’s opening flashes back to early 2012’s “Thuggin'” visual as a nightmare from the past. He tends to his zebras, bathes in hot springs, fishes in streams, and enjoys his romantic partner on “Mt. Kane.” Freddie Gibbs Explains Scarface’s Genius In His Favorite Rap Verse (Video) In between the montages of a life of leisure, the nostalgic Madlib beat pauses while Gangsta Gibbs offers some comedy as he bosses around his farm staff. Although the setting is picturesque nature, the rhymes are concrete. Freddie does not deviate from his accounts of hustling, no-strings-attached love, and stacking paper through the treachery. However, even from a remote location, the ESGN leader is still tuned in to the grind. He’s got bundles in the bundles of hay, as it were. The zebra theme, as seen on the artwork for Pinata, continues with this album’s cover (courtesy of Jeff Jank) and visuals. Audiophiles can obtain Bandana on vinyl and CD approximately one month (July 27) following the digital drop. Injury Reserve’s New LP Shows They Deserve A Spot In 2019’s Starting Lineup (Audio)
