With the arrival of COVID-19, which is currently taking its toll countries around the world, there has been an unfortunate increase in xenophobia and racism.

US fast-food chain McDonald’s had to issue an apology after a video surfaced on Twitter after one of its restaurants located in Southern China had a sign up saying Black people were not allowed in the restaurant. It specifically stated:

“We’ve been informed that from now on, Black people are not allowed to enter the restaurant. For the sake of your health consciously notify the local police for medical isolation, please understand the inconvenience caused.”

Africans in the southern metropolis of Guangzhou had issues with law enforcement after local officials announced there were a cluster COVID-19 cases in a neighborhood with a large migrant population.

The fast-food chain apologized, and a spokesman for McDonald’s claimed the sign was  “not representative of our inclusive values.” In an emailed statement, McDonald’s said it took the down the notice immediately and temporarily closed the location “immediately upon learning of an unauthorized communication to our guests.”

Africans also revealed to the AFP that they have been forcibly removed or evicted from their residences by police and refused service at restaurants, shops and have been the subject of mass testing and random quarantines. If you search Africans in China on Twitter, you will find a bevy of tweets displaying the poor treatment of Africans in the country due to COVID-19.

These are truly some sad and trying times. When Donald Trump put his racism on full display by calling the coronavirus the “Chinese virus” fueling violence against Chinese Americans in the country, many came to their defense. Now Blacks are asking for the energy to be reciprocated.

We detect no lies in the tweet.

Karrueche Tran Slams Xenophobia Against Asians Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Everyone is freaking out amid the Coronavirus pandemic, but Karrueche Tran isn’t here for the mistreatment and racial discrimination against Asians.

President Donald Trump shamelessly calls it the “Chinese virus” and explained exactly why he does that during a press conference Wednesday afternoon. “Cause it comes from China. It’s not racist at all. Not at all. It comes from China. That’s why. I wanna be accurate,” Trump explained.

“I have great love for all of the people from our country. But as you know, China tried to say at one point, maybe they stopped now, that it was caused by American soldiers. That can’t happen. It’s not gonna happen. Not as long as I’m president,” Donnie proclaimed.

Asian reporter, Weija Jang, claimed a White House representative referred to it as the “Kung Flu” right in her face during her visit to the WH.

The actress took to social media to speak out for her people and urge people to spread love. “Xenophobia is not ok!! To target and discriminate Asians is wrong!! There are Asians afraid to leave their homes! There are people who have already been hurt (I know y’all seen the video of the older Asian man). The coronavirus is not ‘The Chinese Virus’! Lets stop instilling more fear and hate. The world is struggling enough as it is. Please stop this!!”

Karrueche’s caption read, “PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY.” What are your thoughts?

Jess Hilarious Uploads Four-Minute Apology for Discriminating Against Muslim Men

Jess Hilarious made headlines this week for feeling “threatened” by four Sikh men boarding a plane who were later kicked off.

After ignorantly justifying her actions in a series of since-deleted videos, she backpedaled and uploaded a seemingly more genuine apology.

In the tearful four-minute video, Jess explains the situation, saying, “There’s been a picture painted of me like I’m a Xenophobe or I’m racist or prejudice.”

“Naturally, in my previous post, I was defensive,” she said, reading her written statement. “That happens when you don’t take the time to really know what’s transpiring and understanding the error of my actions, I have to first acknowledge the rooted issues – which means racially profiling a group of individuals based on their appearance and on top of that publicizing it on a platform.”

She continued explaining that she empathizes with her victims as a Black woman in this country and should’ve been more sensitive considering the current social climate.

“I’m not sure if these particular individuals that were on the plane are aware of my actions by now. Either way, I would love to apologize personally to them first, for my insensitive and ignorant behavior,” the comedian said.

“Sadly, I had no knowledge of the tragedy in New Zealand and so after my video, which doesn’t in any way excuse my behavior. I already know that. Ain’t nothing excuses it. But it opened up my eyes to a matter of ignorance as a habit that usually invokes hate. I refuse to teach spread or be an advocate for hatred. I just want to make people laugh,” she said.

“Bear with me. I’m still learning. And when I say, I’m still learning, I was unaware of Sikhs, as well. A lot of them reached out to me, educated me on who they are and what they stand for and how they help the world in different ways. I didn’t know that. I’m ignorant to a lot of shit.”
