Shady Records’ Westside Boogie will be starting 2022 on the road as he has announced a 10-city national tour Monday morning (Dec. 20). Presented by Major Artist Concerts and Premier Live Entertainment, the Eminem-protégé will stop in major cities such as Santa Cruz, Houston and Denver, which kicks off on January 27 in Austin, Texas. See the official tour flyer and complete tour dates below.
Joining Boogie on the road is up-and-coming Latino recording artist XBValentine. The Dallas, Texas-based artist’s resume includes collaborations with legendary acts such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Baby Bash, Kap G, and Paul Wall. The two recently collaborated on the rising star’s latest single “Luxury,” out now on all streaming platforms.
XBValentine grabbed Boogie’s attention with her impressive lyrical abilities, message and energy. After making “Luxury,” Boogie was baffled by the fact XB is not a superstar already. “Stop playing her. She’s up next. Stop f’n playing with her. She’s next,” he says in the song’s press release.
“This is easily one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever recorded,” XBValentine said in a press release. “I wrote the song after reaching a really low point, and was reflecting on all the hardships that led up to that. The hook contained a line that says ‘24 woulda been the summary, but luckily I put my demons under me.’ Meaning I almost lost that battle with myself but ended up coming out of it stronger.”
She continues: “When I first wrote it I was just venting & expressing what I was feeling in that moment but still knew I had to make something good enough for Boogie to hop on. Once I finished it I knew it was the perfect track for him. I wanted it to be raw & the listeners to be able to feel all the emotions we poured into it. I’m personally a fan of Boogie so I felt honored to have him a part of this song.”
XBValentine is the current face of Spotify’s “Our Wave Nuestro Hip-Hop” playlist.
The touring news was accompanied with Boogie revealing to fans that his forthcoming album has been granted a release date by the label. “Just got that young release date,” he tweeted on Twitter. The new album will follow a big 2020 for the star who collaborated with Wale on the Warner recording artist’s gold-selling album, Wow… That’s Crazy. Wale took to Twitter earlier this month to coin Westside Boogie “one of his favorite rappers,” following Boogie appreciation for being a part of a classic album in Wow… That’s Crazy.
“U one of my favorite rappers bro. Thank you for rockin wit me,” Wale tweets.
No official word if Wale will be featured on Boogie’s forthcoming album at press time. Also, no official word on the release date or title of Boogie’s upcoming album at press time. Boogie’s sophomore album will be the follow-up to his Shady/Interscope debut, Everything’s For Sale, released in 2019.
In early promotion of the upcoming tour and album, Boogie sat down with Premier Live TV correspondent Smooth Vega to discuss a variety of topics, such as new music, mental health, being Eminem’s protege and more. Watch the complete interview below.

As the world tries to get a grip on combatting the coronavirus, the events that are being canceled because of it continues to grow.
According to Billboard, on Thursday (Mar 12), Live Nation and AEG announced the plan to pause all Live Nation tours, instructing acts currently on tour to get ready to return home. The move will impact all tours operated by the company, including those domestically and internationally. A select number of shows scheduled for Thursday and Friday will still go ahead, but starting this weekend all shows will be postponed until at least the end of March.
In addition to postponing all tours, Live Nation has taken preventative measures to protect employees as well, notifying all employees to work remotely for the rest of the month, noting its Beverly Hills headquarters will be “mostly closed.” Although the offices will be closed for the month of March, executives note that the current plan is to re-evaluate the situation at the start of April.
As Rolling Stonereports, the impact of the cancellations amid the COVID-19 pandemic has been severe on the music industry with Coronavirus-related event cancellations seemingly barreling in by the hour. Coupled with the lack of information and no clear deadline to when the crisis will actually end—the music and live entertainment industry is struggling.
“We’re preparing for everything although we’re hoping that if enough companies and organizations take mitigation tactics seriously, it could be contained by the summer,” Zena White, managing director of independent record label Partisan, told the publication. “There’s a social responsibility to try to do what we can to protect the vulnerable, but no doubt this is a huge risk to artists and independent promoters’ businesses. No one has a crystal ball, but the longer we wait to take action, the less likely it will be contained soon.“
Live Nation and AEG were joined by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), William Morris Endeavor (WME), Paradigm, and United Talent Agency, in releasing a statement about the active measures they’re taking in the concert industry moving forward.
“The world’s leading forces in live entertainment have come together to form a global task force to drive strategic support and unified direction ensuring precautionary efforts and ongoing protocol are in the best interest of artists, fans, staff, and the global community,” they said in the joint statement. “At this time, we collectively recommend large scale events through the end of March be postponed. We continue to support that small-scale events follow guidance set by their local government officials. We feel fortunate to have the flexibility to reschedule concerts, festivals, and live events as needed, and look forward to connecting fans with all their favorite artists and live entertainment soon.”
Sure, you can focus on his distinctly African face; it is bold, regal and projecting an image of God that is essentially bottled up in all that is presented by a young Nigerian king, embodied in the swag of his DMV roots. But that is not it. One possibly could focus on his locs, his gear, or his smile. Might not be wrong there either. But what makes Wale beautiful, causing you to stop and exclaim the title of the tour, is how uniquely affirmational to Black women the music curated for this concert is and how such a score is necessary for Hip-Hop to redeem the Black woman from the bowels of current-day rap music.
Thanks, friend.
The Wow… That’s Crazy tour launched on Jan. 15th, the 112th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. So what?
Well, since his tour was an ode to Black women, why not start on the day that epitomizes the origins of African-American women uniting in sisterhood to affirm themselves. Of course, his team did not have it at the front of mind when planning the series of concerts but… wow… that’s crazy when you think about the two events lining up side by side. Energetically it makes sense. Wale’s close alignment with the HBCU experience oozes in everything that he does– in every musical morsel of the concert.
The Brooklyn Steel venue was perfect. Sold out, in every inch of the place pulsated with women excited to hear him perform. Over 1,800 people cramped in resembled homecoming at one of his alma maters, Virginia State University or Bowie.
The deejay set the tone of the night.
DJ Money rocked a set appropriate for the County of Kings. Brooklyn was appropriate to be the first stop on the tour. It was filled with folk from all over… well kinda. Most of the people in the audience were women, women of color. With each spin, whether Pop Smoke or Biggie, you saw them shaking their hip and throwing back their heads in ecstatic approval. His best set was his old school R&B set when he mixed 80s, 90s, and early 2000s sing-a-longs, daring you to remember where you were when those joints came out.
It was just the right amount of foreplay over an hour to get the crowd ready for The Source‘s 2006 “Unsigned Hype “Alum to come and rip the stage.
While from the time he stepped on stage the crowd went bonkers, there was a level of freedom that Wale exercised when he dropped a song from his new album, Wow… That’s Crazy, entitled “Debbie.” First… Puff’s voice transcends over the assembly like the Voice of God and says, “Half the n*ggas in the world can’t dance…” and then the beat drops. When the chorus hit all the ladies sang each word to the top of their lungs, but more importantly they internalized the lyrics:
“Dance with me, yeah, it’s so hard to fall in love I know you need, yeah, a man that can play his part I need your body to follow I ain’t gonna be the one that’ll break your heart God made a goddess, grab my arm and know that I got you, yeah”
If you have never heard this jam, it is one that is simply infectious. Check out Malak Lunsford rocking to this song in this dance video moment:
Keeping with this dance vibe, he dropped his 2016 “My PYT” and performed a rendition so dope that even MJ would have taken note (we saw that moonwalk!).
Another oldie but goodie he included in the set was “That Way” which featured Jeremih and Rick Ross. While almost 10 years old, the song still hits and reminds you why you purchased your ticket to see one of the most underrated rappers in the culture. If that jam didn’t remind you, again the goo goo eyed attendees starring into the stage direction like he was singing directly to them might.
At this point, while we all know that we are at his concert, we realize that Wale is all of our boyfriends. He makes you feel like that. Quite honestly, the concert experience might translate differently to the bruhs in the audience, but there were at least 1500 women in there who expected to leave with a ring by the time he transitioned into “The Matrimony” his 2015 hit song with Usher.
The concert is an ode to women, Black women. Black women who normally will cut you for calling them the “B” word but feel the intended compliment when he performs “Illest B*tch” single, but elevated when he segues into “Black Girl Magic” off his new album.
Over and over “Wow… That’s Crazy” as a tour and album feels like church… feels like Oprah… feels like joy. Song after song… nope… experience after experience… the intentional love that he has for his people, for the content and context of the music and the veneration of Black women was there.
On the most sacred day of the AKAs… a day potentially trumped by a crazy president’s impeachment trial… a day when more evidence is coming out about the predator R. Kelly and how he brainwashed and exploited a whole bunch of little girls… a day when at least sevens songs dropped about gang members gangbanging chicks to get them in the set… a day when women are killed senselessly… Wale saves the day- shifting our attention from the obvious hate the world haves for us to one where we can openly love ourselves and know that a real Black man loves us too… nothing crazy about that.
Wale is taking his “Wow… That’s Crazy” Tour overseas in 2020. The DMV rapper announced the European leg of his tour supporting his new album that kicks off in February. Wale posted the tour dates on social media on Thursday.
The tour currently has 6 dates in 6 cities in Europe including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris and London.
The “Black Bonnie” MC announced the U.S. tour in November with his first show of the tour in Los Angeles on December 15. Before his final U.S. shows in Atlanta and Charlotte, Wale will fly overseas to do his European shows before wrapping things up back home.
Wow… That’s Crazy was Wale’s first release with
his new deal at Warner Bros. and the album has received pretty strong reviews.
The single “On Chill” reached number 1 on Urban radio with the album debuting
at #7 in its first week with just under 40,000 sales.
DaBaby is using his new found financial status to help change lives.
Last week while making an appearance at his pop up in Atlanta, GA, DaBaby was greeted by a 22-year old fan who waited three hours to show the North Carolina MC some of her merchandise, but when Da Baby started asking about her inspiration; he received the shocking news that the young mother was homeless.
In a moment posted on the “Suge” rapper’s Instagram, DaBaby didn’t purchase her knitted creations, but instead gave her $1,000 and advised her to sell those hats to other customers. The fan was understandably overwhelmed with emotion, revealing, “This is my son, we are sleeping wild bro. Thank you so much.” According to thevideo, the 23-year-old and her son have been living in her Nissan Maxima for weeks.
This isn’t the first time DaBaby has helped out a fan in need. Earlier this month while in Washington D.C., DaBaby spotted children selling cookies and stopped to purchase them all, totaling $300, before giving them back to the kids to resell and eat.
DaBaby is definitely being blessed for his endeavors, the acts of kindness comes just a week after his sophomore album Kirk debuted in the number one spot on the Billboard 200. A bittersweet moment, DaBaby recently spoke with Billboard about losing his father and how he became the inspiration for his latest project.
“Trying to drop this album and dedicating it to him, the cover being a baby picture and the shit being on billboards in Times Square, being able to tell the world my story—and they’re so interested, too?” DaBaby said. “Like the whole world is interested in how influential my pops was to me. This sh*t right here been more therapeutic than anything.”
DaBaby also dropped the news of an 11 city tour with Stunna 4 Vegas that is scheduled to kick off November 16 in Minneapolis at Myth Live before wrapping up on December 21 in Dallas, Tx.
