Joining Boogie on the road is up-and-coming Latino recording artist XBValentine. The Dallas, Texas-based artist’s resume includes collaborations with legendary acts such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Baby Bash, Kap G, and Paul Wall. The two recently collaborated on the rising star’s latest single “Luxury,” out now on all streaming platforms.

XBValentine grabbed Boogie’s attention with her impressive lyrical abilities, message and energy. After making “Luxury,” Boogie was baffled by the fact XB is not a superstar already. “Stop playing her. She’s up next. Stop f’n playing with her. She’s next,” he says in the song’s press release.

“This is easily one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever recorded,” XBValentine said in a press release. “I wrote the song after reaching a really low point, and was reflecting on all the hardships that led up to that. The hook contained a line that says  ‘24 woulda been the summary, but luckily I put my demons under me.’ Meaning I almost lost that battle with myself but ended up coming out of it stronger.”

She continues: “When I first wrote it I was just venting & expressing what I was feeling in that moment but still knew I had to make something good enough for Boogie to hop on. Once I finished it I knew it was the perfect track for him. I wanted it to be raw & the listeners to be able to feel all the emotions we poured into it. I’m personally a fan of Boogie so I felt honored to have him a part of this song.”

XBValentine is the current face of Spotify’s “Our Wave Nuestro Hip-Hop” playlist.

The touring news was accompanied with Boogie revealing to fans that his forthcoming album has been granted a release date by the label. “Just got that young release date,” he tweeted on Twitter. The new album will follow a big 2020 for the star who collaborated with Wale on the Warner recording artist’s gold-selling album, Wow… That’s Crazy. Wale took to Twitter earlier this month to coin Westside Boogie “one of his favorite rappers,” following Boogie appreciation for being a part of a classic album in Wow… That’s Crazy.

“U one of my favorite rappers bro. Thank you for rockin wit me,” Wale tweets.

No official word if Wale will be featured on Boogie’s forthcoming album at press time. Also, no official word on the release date or title of Boogie’s upcoming album at press time. Boogie’s sophomore album will be the follow-up to his Shady/Interscope debut, Everything’s For Sale, released in 2019.

In early promotion of the upcoming tour and album, Boogie sat down with Premier Live TV correspondent Smooth Vega to discuss a variety of topics, such as new music, mental health, being Eminem’s protege and more. Watch the complete interview below.

Ari Lennox, Wale Propose Idea of an HBCU Tour

College shows must hit different when it’s at a Historically Black College because two prominent artists are advocating for an HBCU tour. Ari Lennox presented the idea on social media on Sunday and Wale co-signed it.

After performing at Georgia Southern and Grambling, Ari Lennox had a stream of consciousness on Twitter wanting to perform more at HBCUs. “If 90% of my shows were at HBCUs I’d be so damn happy. Ain’t nothing in the world like it. Energy too beautiful. Black people too damn beautiful,” the Dreamville singer posted on Twitter.

Responding to Ari’s tweet, North Carolina artist Cape proposed the idea of an HBCU tour to which Ari responded would be “phenomenal.”

Wale who recently dropped his album Wow… That’s Crazy joined in after seeing Ari’s post and seeming to really want to make the tour real.

“This so heart warming .. I real live wAnna route a HBCU run ..this album makes the most sense to do it sue me, Debbie ,love… BGM etc .. have greeks perform .. school acts open …big and small HBCUs,” Wale wrote on Twitter.

Excited Wale fans responded to the rapper’s tweets by dropping the HBCUs they wanted to see him at.

According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics, as of 2017, there are 102 HBCUs in 19 states. Should these artists actually try and make this happen, it could be a historic move in the music industry and possibly trendsetting. Of course, smaller HBCUs may not have the same budget as Howard University or Morehouse, but if it’s truly for the culture these artists will make it happen.
