Screen Shot 2020 10 20 at 10.00.40 AM

With many rappers celebrating sipping lean in today’s Hip Hp music, it is more celebratory to acknowledge Sauce Walka’s decision to kick the deadly habit once and for all.

In a refreshing IG post, the Houston millennial slang spitter posted a photo of himself “after 12 Days of #Withdrawls PAINNN & #Detox”. Walka called the infamous promethazine concoction “liquid heroin”, which has taken out more than a few Hip Hop legends including Pimp C, DJ Screw, Mac Miller and too many others to mention.

Shout out to Sauce Walka for putting life first and making the changes necessary to live.

Dame Dash Sues WeTV For Not Keeping His Son Sober On ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’

Former Roc-A-Fella executive claims that WeTV purposely kept his son inebriated against his will in order to boost their ratings on their popular reality show Growing Up Hip Hop.

According to a lawsuit obtained exclusively by TMZ, Damon Dash Sr. alleges that his son, Damon “Boogie” Dash Jr., was required to drink alcohol during his appearance on the show to increase viewership, even though they gave a verbal agreement that they’s keep the younger Dash sober.

Dash says that his family suffered “emotional distress” due to Boogie’s public drunkenness on the show, according to the suit.

Eminem Celebrates 11 Years of Sobriety

Eminem took to Instagram to rejoice over his eleven year sobriety over the holiday weekend.

Em took to Instagram to share the good news with his fans by uploading a photo of a commemorative coin he received for reaching the milestone. “11 years – still not afraid,” he captioned the pic. Royce da 5’9″ congratulated the veteran rapper on his hard work. “Happy 11th sobriety bday to my mentor and good friend @eminem 🙏🏿💪🏿👑👑👑,” Nickel posted on Twitter.

This has become an annual social media celebration for the Detroit rapper. He showed off his ten year commemorative coin last year, and will most likely do the same next year.

Eminem has been very open about his battles with drug abuse. He notably details his issues with abusing prescription pills on albums like Relapse and Recovery. In a 2009 interview, he opened up and said, “I wasn’t ready mentally. I wasn’t ready to give up the drugs,” Em said. “I didn’t really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it. Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug problem had got so bad. I felt like, Maybe if I take a break, maybe this will help. I started to get into the producer role more… I can still be out there with my music, like with the Re-Up album, but I don’t have to be in the spotlight the whole time.”

Future Commits To No Longer Using Lean On ‘The WZRD’ Live Interview

One of the most influential artists of the decade has admitted that he no longer indulges in drinking lean, a deadly mixture of promethazine and soda, hence one of its monikers, “dirty Sprite”.

Future admitted in a candid interview that he originally didn’t want to go public with his sobriety simply because he didn’t know how the fans would take it, especially after the success of his smash hit, “Mask Off”, in which the hook almost hypnotically seduces its listener to “molly, Percocet..”

“I didn’t want to tell nobody I stopped drinking lean, because I felt like then they was going to be like, ‘Oh, his music changed ’cause he ain’t drinking lean no more.’ Or, ‘I can hear it when he changed,’”

Future said in his interview with Genius’ Rob Markman.

“People are like, ‘Damn, why you won’t even say it (talk about his sobriety)?’ But it just be hard when your fans so used to you a certain kinda way… You be afraid to change.”
