Future Goes Drake-Less & Reveals New THE WIZRD Album Tracklisting

Future

Atlanta rapper Future is keeping his collaborations to a minimum with THE WIZRD on deck. The hip-hop superstar has shared the tracklisting to his upcoming album.

Future Hendrixx went to Instagram Monday (January 14) to reveal his 20-song tracklist.

Last week, the hip-hop heavyweight promised to deliver a new album this month.

The same day, Future announced he had his The WIZRD documentary and solo album both dropping in January.

“Crushed Up” is just the beginning though. It heralds the arrival of his seventh full-length album, dropping on January 18. This marks his first new solo album since the historic success of the 2017 albums Future and Hndrxx and the multiplatinum banger “Mask Off,” building on this incredible foundation and momentum to go even bigger in 2019. Adding another dimension to this next phase, Future shares the details for his Official Documentary, The WIZRD, debuting exclusively worldwide on Apple Music. The feature-length film follows the artist closely and peeks into corners of his world never-seen-before—until now. It opens up a window into his story and creativity unlike anything else.

To promote his new Apple Music exclusive, Future hosted multiple screenings from coast to coast.

To properly launch The WIZRD, he will personally host screenings with a Q&A and album listening in Los Angeles [January 8, iPic Theaters], and New York [January 10, iPic Theaters Southstreet Seaport]. It officially releases on Apple Music worldwide on January 11. Meanwhile, he opens up a limited-edition D2C store with a whole new merch collection January 11. The next era of Future starts now with “Crushed Up.”

Future Drops ‘The WIZRD’ Documentary [Video]

Future has a new album releasing next week. But first, today (Jan. 11) the Atlanta drops a documentary of the same name called The WIZRD.

The Marcus A. Clarke-directed film features talking heads like Andre 3000, Rico Wade, Metro Boomin, DJ Khaled and more. 3 Stacks’ commentary is particularly potent due to the Dungeon Family connection (Future is Wade’s cousin) and due to the fact getting any extended commentary from the OutKast rapper is a blessing.

Dedicated to his late engineer Seth Firkins, the doc covers the East Atlanta rapper’s rise to stardom, his creative process, fatherhood and more.

If you’re rocking with Apple Music, you can watch the full documentary right here.

Future Says His 2018 Was All About Vacationing

Everybody needs a break, even a superstar who can be a factory of hits like Future. With his latest album, The WIZRD, getting ready to hit Hip-Hop fans across the world, the Freeband Gang Leader sat with Zane Lowe to discuss his 2018 and plans for this album.

When detailing his 2018, Future reveals that he was a little bit more quiet than normal due to just needing a break from his dominance over the game.

“Five years I was on the road. I didn’t ever get a chance to go home. I’ve been on four or five tours all across the world, from European tour to Australia tour, to just doing it two, three times back to back. Soon as I get off a tour I got to go on another tour in two weeks, go on another tour,” Future revealed.

Anyone would get tired after a five-year run and when you are working like Future, you didn’t even get to enjoy the spoils of your labor. “I never get a chance to vacation. I never get a chance to go nowhere, so 2018 was my first time going different places, and trying different, new experiences, and staying places over two weeks.”

He would eventually get the opportunity to do so and now he is ready to take over the game again.

Future also details how he wants to be less private while also dishing on fatherhood. You can hear that clip below and be sure to visit Apple Music for the additional pieces of his conversation with Zane Lowe.

Last month, Meek confirmed his past feud with Game had faded to black.

Hours prior, the Los Angeles rapper announced the backstory on their feud low-key ending.

Had beef wit a nigga that could’ve ended in bloodshed either way. We had differences but when it all boiled down, we were once friends in & out of music. As young African American men we grew up in similar situations where a lifespan for us was 21 years of age & that is still the age in which most of us coming from where we come from think we’ll never make it to. I say all that to say, life is short & the day after @meekmill got out of jail, he called me & we talked for an hour.. not about the beef but about new beginnings & what the future holds for us as seasoned hip hop artists. That was a few months back & my nigga has done everything he said he would do in the conversation we had. Real nigga shit, I never wished jail on you & I was genuinely happy when you got released. I said it over the phone & I’ll say it again.. “Welcome Home” nigga.. #Championships I support it & everything else hip hop. #Growth #LoveIsLove

When Asked About R. Kelly Sex Scandal Future Thinks “We Giving It Too Much Attention”

Future Thinks We Are Giving R. Kelly "Too Much Attention"

Source: Power 106

Future is currently on a promotional tour for his upcoming studio album The WZRD. The “March Madness” rapper stopped by to talk about the album and forthcoming documentary, but it’s his thoughts on the R. Kelly sex scandal that is getting all of the attention.

Nine minutes into the interview, host J.Cruz asked Future if he would ever make music with the  Pied Piper of R&Pee?  Future has already worked with Kelly back in 2012 on the track “Parachute,” and it’s not clear if the radio host was aware of that during the interview. The rapper’s response was interesting.

“Man, who is that? I thought we had forgot about that? We giving it too much attention,” Future responded. “When you give things too much attention, they blow up. That’s why he gon’ blow up. That’s why his music gonna do what it do. If you stop talking about it, it’ll go away.”

Future’s reply seems to be in response to the increase of streams of Kelly’s music following the eye-opening Surviving R.Kelly Lifetime docuseries. But in response to Future, not giving R.Kelly enough attention is the reason he was able to get away with his behavior for so long in the first place.

You can watch Future’s entire Power 106 interview below and definitely share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Future Knows Why R. Kelly’s Music Is Blowing Up Right Now: “We Giving It Too Much Attention”

Future Interview

Atlanta rapper Future has a simple solution to stopping R. Kelly from shining – stop shining light on him. The hip-hop star has shared his thoughts on the controversial singer amid all the coverage he’s received since last week’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries aired.

In a new interview, Future questioned why people are still paying attention to him amid his past sexcual controversies.

“Man, who is that? I thought we had forgot about that? We giving it too much attention. When you give things too much attention, they blow up. That’s why he gonna blow up. That’s why his music gonna do what it do. If you stop talking about it, it’ll go away.” (Power 106 FM)

This week, buzz developed about a Georgia criminal investigation launching following last week’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries airing.

We’re told the probe was launched over the past few days as a direct result of what ‘Surviving’ depicted. We’re told investigators have been reaching out to several survivors featured in the TV project. We have confirmed investigators reached out to Asante McGee, one of the women who allegedly escaped R. Kelly’s home. We’re told investigators were flooded with calls once the docuseries aired. (TMZ)

Earlier in the week, reports emerged about social media giant Facebook deleting a pro-Kelly “Surviving Lies” website for violating its guidelines.

BuzzFeed News reporter Ryan Mac posted screengrabs of the site to Twitter before it was removed. Both Mac and TMZ reported the same statement from a Facebook spokesperson in response to their queries about the pulled site: “The Page violated our Community Standards and has been removed. We do not tolerate bullying or sharing someone’s private contact information and take action on content that violates our policies as soon as we’re aware.” (Vulture)
