Atlanta artist, Alonzo Mathis, better known as Gorilla Zoe is now being hit with a gun charge after attempting to air travel with a loaded gun in his luggage. This would be the Boys N Da Hood, rapper’s second run-in with authorities in a three-month time span.
In November, Gorilla Zoe was arrested for domestic violence following an altercation that occurred at a hotel. According to the police report, Zoe seemed to be trying to get his girlfriend into the hotel room, when she refused the rapper pushed her onto the ground. She proceeded to get away by locking Zoe out on the balcony of the hotel room. In a rage, Zoe began punching and kicking the glass door, causing his girlfriend to let him in. Moments later, the cops would walk into an angered Zoe pinning down his girlfriend. He was arrested for domestic violence but later released from a $2,500 bond.
When being searched by TSA, security would find a loaded .38 caliber gun in the rapper’s bag. Zoe was charged with one count of carrying a concealed firearm. Zoe would later be released after posting a $500 bond. The authorities also suspended the rapper’s gun license.

Gorilla Zoe might be in a world of trouble. The Atlanta rapper was arrested at Miami International Airport after TSA found a loaded gun in his luggage.
According to TMZ, the Miami-Dade Police were summoned to a checkpoint at Miami International Airport on Monday night (Feb. 17) and were told by TSA supervisor that the former Bad Boy South rapper tried to go through a checkpoint with a .380 caliber pistol tucked in his carry-on. And yes, the gun was loaded.
Did he not learn from the struggle of one Juelz Santana, who currently doing time for a similar incident? Zoe didn’t run off when the jig was up, though.
Sure enough, the cops arrested Gorilla Zoe for carrying a concealed weapon. Ironically, Zoe reportedly has a permit to carry a concealed weapon. However, said license was apparently suspended.
The last we heard from Zoe, born Alonzo Mathis, he was involved in a domestic violence case with his girlfriend down in Florida. He was initially arrested for domestic battery for allegedly putting hands on the woman in a hotel room at the La Siesta Resort in Monroe County, Florida. But, the authorities didn’t move forward with charges after she refused to cooperate.
As for the airport incident, Zoe was booked at Miami-Dade jail and then released around 5 AM on Tuesday morning (Feb. 18) after posting his $500 bond.
Gorilla Zoe’s last proper album, King Kong, was released back in 2011. He was a member of the short-lived Bad Boy South group Boyz N Da Hood that also included Young Jeezy, Jody Breeze, Big Gee, and Big Duke.

It seems Gorilla Zoe has dodged a big legal bullet this week. He will not face any time for a recent physical altercation.
TMZ is reporting that the Atlanta rapper has had his domestic charges dropped this week. The Monroe County Florida Prosecutor’s Office tells the celebrity gossip site that the case was officially dismissed. According to the documentation his girlfriend refused to cooperate thus withdrawing her original claims that he roughed her up. She event went to the lengths of filing a notarized letter requesting that the District Attorney halt any further action.
In early November the man born Alonzo Mathis was arrested at the La Siesta Resort in Monroe County, Florida after spotted getting physical with a women on his balcony. She has since recanted her original story that he “always become crazy aggressive” when he drinks. The unnamed woman now simply says “We always drink and argue, nothing more. He’s never gotten physical with me. Isn’t that what happens when everyone drinks?” Right.

According to a confirmed report from TMZ, Atlanta rapper Gorilla Zoe had all charges dropped stemming from a domestic incident that occurred last month.
Monroe County, Florida prosecutors confirmed that all charges were dropped against Zoe, whose real name is Alonzo Mathis, after his girlfriend refused to go through with the case and even provided a notarized letter requesting that charges all against the rapper are dismissed.
The 37-year-old Zoe was originally arrested for domestic battery after witnesses say they saw Mathis knock his girlfriend down on the hotel balcony, however, in the police report, she allegedly told the cops, “We always drink and argue, nothing more. He’s never gotten physical with me. Isn’t that what happens when everyone drinks?”
Nevertheless, Zoe was still arrested on the date in question.
Today, the judge absolved him of any wrongdoing.

Here’s a blast from the not so distant past. Atlanta rapper Gorilla Zoe was recently arrested for domestic violence for allegedly putting hands on his girlfriend.
Not exactly the best way to jog everyone’s memory about your rap career.
According to TMZ, Zoe got popped early Sunday morning (Nov. 3) in Monroe County, Florida after cops were summoned to La Siesta Resort by security. They say Zoe got into a physical altercation with a woman on his hotel room balcony.
According to the police report, the former Boyz N Da Hood rapper was seen trying to shove the woman back into the hotel room, eventually knocking her to the ground. However, she managed to lock him out on the balcony while she was in the room.
But this is only the start of the struggle.
Zoe reportedly began kicking and punching the door, and the woman eventually let him back in. By this time the police arrived and witnessed the rapper “pinning his girlfriend” to the ground.
And this is where the struggle expands exponentially.
After the cops separated the not so happy couple, she reportedly began defending Zoe. She allegedly claimed they always argue when they drink. Nevertheless, Zoe was arrested for domestic battery, and posted $2500 bail about an hour later.
