Wiley and Stormzy are perhaps two of the biggest stars in the U.K. Grime scene, and a brewing feud between the two is heating up. For those keeping score, Stormzy returned fire to Wiley with a new track “Disappointed,” and it doesn’t appear things are settling down anytime soon.

For background, Wiley’s recent diss track “Eediyat Skengman” was released on Sunday (Jan. 5) and featured the 41-year-old veteran going directly at Stormzy, including going so far to say that his younger counterpart took some of his styles while also declaring himself the top man in the Grime scene.

From Wiley’s “Eediyat Skengman”:

I know Stormzy’s good and that
Yeah, I know he came from the hood and that
But if the vibes that we built were drugs and we packed
We’d be stacking, and he come along and took all that

Stormy, 26, didn’t wait long to fire back with “Disappointed” and while Wiley decided not to get too personal, the “Wiley Flow” rapper took it there on some of his bars.

From Stormzy’s “Disappointed:

The old man’s got a death wish
Old man, you’ll regret this
Alright then, challenge accepted
Smoke on sight from the bruddas I step with

Wiley has heard the track and actually approved of it tweeting “I like that lets go, but blasted Stormzy for not using a Grime-styled track. He’s also been retweeting the track while fans of both men debate over the winner and loser via Twitter. Wiley also added that he has another “dub” in the tuck for Stormzy and that the beef will be done after it.

Check out Wiley and Stormzy’s recent diss tracks below. Who do you think is winning thus far? Sound off in the comments section.

Wiley Calls Drake a “Culture Vulture” Over OVO Record Deals

Grime pioneer MC Wiley has taken to Twitter to call out Drake for “sh*t deals” when it comes to artists signed to OVO, again.

On Wednesday (Sept 11), the British rapper, whose rivalry with Drake has been ongoing ever since he called the OVO cappo a “culture vulture” and branded them “pagans.”

While it’s relatively unclear as to what triggered the one-sided bombardment, it seems Wiley has been increasingly irritated with OVO’s “sh*t record deals,” specifically in relation to the clearance of vocals on a song he did alongside dancehall artist and OVO-signed artist Popcaan as well as Nicki Minaj.

“I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ is going to start her family… it’s a dead-end,” Wiley wrote [then deleted] on Twitter.

Wiley also criticized Drake for showing up at the concerts of numerous UK rappers, including J Hus and Dave, as well as inviting them to join him on his own tour. “@Drake suck ya mum don’t come back to England,” Wiley wrote, before claiming that OVO will “give you sh*t record deals and you’re only there to help Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.”

Drake, who has previously called Wiley “goofy”, responded to his criticism earlier this year, saying: “I see a lot and I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up… how that’s not viewed as something admirable?”

He continued, “But I guess people have their own outlook on [that].”

Despite the criticism from Wiley, Drake and his OVO camp are slated to release an album inspired by the Netflix reboot of Top Boy, a British based crime drama that hones in on East London’s tumultuous relationship with drugs and street gangs. Some fans speculate that Drake’s announcement of his inspiration from the U.K. based drama is what fueled Wiley’s tangent.

Since his Twitter rant, Wiley has revealed his reason for taking shots at Drake. During an interview with  1Xtra Breakfast Show With Dotty on Thursday, Wiley states that it’s Drake’s selfishness in business that has led to his disdain with Toronto rapper.

“I didn’t need Drake to let me know that Top Boy is sick,” Wiley said. “They didn’t come to us” when asked why he and other grime pioneers didn’t step in to revive the series themselves. Can’t you see what people do out here? The truth is he’s just a pagan. He knows it. And if I say it, he can’t say nothing to me because it’s the truth . . . He’s not embracing the scene, he’s doing it for himself.”

Idris Elba Spits More Than Hot Fire In New Stefflon Don & Sean Paul BOASTY Video

Idris Elba

Hollywood heavyweight Idris Elba does more than just act. The high-profile entertainer has pulled through to drop some serious bars in the new “Boasty” music video.

The star-studded visual features Elba, Wiley, Sean Paul and hip-hop artist Stefflon Don.

This week, buzz developed about Elba getting targeted to replace fellow Hollywood superstar Will Smith in the upcoming Suicide Squad supervillain sequel.

Smith had to bow out of the upcoming DC Comics movie due to scheduling conflicts, and the studio moved fast to find another proven A-lister to replace him before production starts in September. It’s currently unknown who will be joining Elba in the sequel, though many believe Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn. James Gun was tapped to write and direct the film. The release date is currently set for Aug. 6, 2021. (Variety)

Last week, buzz developed about Will having to ditch the DC Comics flick due to scheduling conflicts.

Even though his return had not been made official, sources tell Variety that Will Smith, who played Deadshot in the original, is not expected to return for the studio’s upcoming sequel. Sources say scheduling was the ultimate factor and that the decision was made on amicable terms between both sides with no hard feelings. Though the studio has never confirmed who would be returning for “The Suicide Squad,” insiders say the studio has always wanted its biggest stars like Smith and Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in the first pic, to return while figuring out other casting decisions along the way. Big Willy is currently gearing up to star in this year’s Aladdin movie.
