For every Kanye moment on Twitter that drives fans crazy there are always less noticed moments that remind us of the Kanye we all loved. Yeezy was back on Twitter on Monday to let his fans know that he was thinking about “big brother” Jay-Z.

Kanye posted a screenshot from their 2011 performance at the MTV Video Music Awards when the duo performed “Otis” on stage for the first time. “Miss my bro… real talk,” Kanye said on the social media site.

Setting aside Kanye’s most recent polarizing moments from his presidential run, his online attack of his wife Kim Kardashian-West and her mother Kris Jenner, Yeezy and his big brother have had their own set of issues that may have caused Hov to distance himself.

In an on stage rant in 2016, Kanye opened up to his fans about his grievance with Jay-Z for not coming to visit after Kim Kardashian-West was robbed in Paris. “Don’t call me after the robbery and say ‘how you feeling?’ You wanna know how I’m feeling come by the house… I can’t take this sh** bro. Our kids don’t even play together,” Kanye said at the time.

In 2017, a business related rift between the two insued after Kanye went unpaid in the exclusivity deal he had with Jay-Z’s streaming service Tidal for Kanye’s 7th album The Life of Pablo. Kanye was reportedly owed $3 million for the deal.

Jay-Z took his shots as well on his opening track “Kill Jay-Z” From 4:44. “But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe// but you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye// You gave him twenty million without blinkin’// He gave you twenty minutes on stage, f— was he thinkin?”

Since this back and forth, tensions seem to have cooled at least a little especially after Jay-Z dropped some more bars name dropping his little brother in the Meek Mill record “What’s Free.”

“No red hat, don’t Michael [Jackson] and Prince me and Ye’// They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA,” Hov raps. Kanye responded to the record on Twitter saying simply “Throne 2?”

We may have to concede that we’ll never get a “Watch The Throne 2” from Jay and Ye, but the long track record these two have musically along with the brotherhood they’ve developed on the come up we should hope any differences can be reconciled.

Make no mistake, Watch The Throne when it was released back on August 8, 2011, was a MOMENT. Today Hip-Hop Twitter is celebrating the monumental album turning eight.

When JAY-Z and Kanye West decided to combine their lyrical skills for a joint album, it literally shook the music world. The once inseparable duo back then had fans thirsty when they took luxury rap to another level. They had the world intrigued when they dropped the album’s lead single “Otis” paired with the visual in which we saw a Maybach chopped up.

After that, the world was on watch waiting for the album to drop. A lot of fans were hoping for links to a leaked version of the collaborative effort. Much to their dismay that day never came, and they had to wait just like everyone else for Watch The Throne which impressively never leaked on the internet. When it finally did drop, the world exploded as the world as a whole collectively listened and dissected the project song by song.

With songs like “Niggas In Paris,” “No Church In The Wild,” “A New Day” just to name a few the album was considered an instant classic among many. Subsequently, Watch The Throne was followed with an even more successful tour that featured some of the most impressive set design ever. It went on to become one of the highest-grossing Hip-Hop tours of all time bringing in $95 million in revenue. West would go onto to launch his own design company, named after his late mother DONDA.

Unfortunately, due to the beef between the one-time duo, we have not gotten Watch The Throne 2, Kanye West at one time said was coming. That doesn’t mean we can’t imagine what if? Who knows? Maybe Yeezy and Jay will someday bury the hatchet. Until let’s remember the greatness that came from the two linking up in the booth. Hit the gallery below to see what Twitter had to say about Watch The Throne turning eight today.

Kanye West Responds To JAY-Z Killing Beef Hype W/ Huge Teaser Announcement

Kanye West

Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West knows a thing or two about publicity. The hip-hop star has responded to JAY-Z killing speculation about his new “What’s Free” lyrics having ill intentions toward him.

Yeezy went to Twitter Friday (November 30) to acknowledge Jigga’s remarks and plug the possibility of a Watch the Throne sequel.

Earlier in the day, Jigga hit up Twitter to clarify his lyrics and stopped the feud speculation.

On the record, Jigga makes direct references to Ye’s pro-President Donald Trump support.

No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye/They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA, uh/I ain’t one of these house n*ggas you bought/My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours/My spou- (C’mon man) (“What’s Free”)

JAY heavily went in on Donald Trump and distanced himself from Ye’s proud Make America Great Again stance.

Jay also rejects any comparisons made between him and Kanye West. In the midst of the various controversies Kanye has said and done in 2018, one of the most memorable moments is when he tweeted himself wearing a MAGA hat while later on appearing on Saturday Night Live clarifying his viewpoint on why he embraces wearing the hat: “They said, ‘Don’t go out there with that hat on.’ They bullied me backstage. They bullied me! And then they say I’m in a sunken place. You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I’m going to listen to y’all now, or I’m going to put my Superman cape on. This means you can’t tell me what to do.” (Genius)
