For almost 50 years, Saturday Night Live has hosted some of the top names in musical talent. Over the weekend, rapper Young Thug joined the ranks of musical icons who have made appearances on the long-running sketch show. And he wasn’t alone.
Young Thug brought out special guests Gunna and Nate Ruess for a performance of “Love You More,” which was a collaboration from Thug’s new album Punk. He also performed “Tick Tock,” a hit with a punk vibe for which Travis Barker and Blink-182 joined him to perform.
Young Thug’s SNL appearance coincides with the release of his second studio album, Punk, which featured collabs with some major industry heavy hitters. In addition to Gunna, Nate Ruess, and Travis Barker, the album also features Post Malone, Drake, Future, A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, and J Cole, as well as recently deceased artists Juice Wrld and Mac Miller.
SNL was not Young Thug’s first on-screen performance with Barker, however. The two teamed up for an NPR “Tiny Desk” performance earlier this year.

Travis Barker flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian to enjoy a baecation. But love wasn’t the only thing that he celebrated.
This marks the Blink-182 drummer’s first time on a plane since surviving a plane crash in 2008 that killed two of his friends.
TMZ got their hands on the photos of the couple boarding Kylie Jenner’s private jet with Kris Jenner and her boyfriend, Cory Gamble.
Neither Travis or Kourtney posted about the emotional moment at the time that this article was written.
Travis Barker is lucky to be alive after a devastating plane crash that took the lives of his assistant Chris Baker, security guard Charles Monroe Still Jr., and pilots Sarah Lemmon and James Bland. DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was also injured in the crash but he died a year later from a drug overdose.
The drummer was hospitalized for three months with 65% of his body suffering from severe burn wounds. He needed 26 surgeries and several skin grafts.
In June, Barker tweeted “I might fly again,” with an airplane emoji.
The musician also spoke to Men’s Health about the longtime recovery that led him to get clean. His tolerance for opioids were so high that he’d sometimes wake up during surgery.
“People are always like, ‘Did you go to rehab?’” Barker said. “And I [say], ‘No, I was in a plane crash.’ That was my rehab. Lose three of your friends and almost die? That was my wake-up call. If I wasn’t in a crash, I would have probably never quit.”
“There’s a million things that could happen to me,” he added. “I could die riding my skateboard. I could get in a car accident. I could get shot. Anything could happen. I could have a brain aneurysm and die. So why should I still be afraid of airplanes?”
“I have to … I want to make the choice to try and overcome it,” he told the magazine about flying again.

While she has taken her time to develop her sound, it is clear it was time well spent for Willow Smith. Her new track is a nod to the punk genre and more.
As spotted on Rolling Stone, the co-host of Red Table Talks has dropped a new song with an accompanying visual. “Transparent Soul” captures her in an uninhibited space as she stays true to the genre’s energy and attitude.
Additionally, her styling is in alignment with the subculture with black eyeliner and bondage pants in one scene, a grungy white-blue dress with a studded neck collar in the following.
Backed by Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker, Willow’s lyrics target a male associate who just wasn’t worth her time and attention.
“I knew a boy just like you / He’s a snake just like you / Such a fake just like you / But I can see the truth,” she sings on the chorus.
“I am so grateful for this tune because it was created in such an introspective time [during the first couple months of quarantine],” Willow said in a statement. “It was the song that proved to me that I needed to let go of the insecurities I had about making a project of this genre.”
In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe earlier this week, Smith detailed how it was to collaborate with Barjer, who she has looked up to musically for years.
“Travis is one of my favorite artists. And it’s so interesting because he is a drummer, but he’s so much more than that,” Smith said. “Being in the studio with him really showed me how multi-dimensional his artistry really is. He literally heard the song once and played it. He was like, ‘Oh, that’s perfect,’ one day and played it perfectly once.”

Travis Barker had one crazy weekend. The renowned Blink-182 drummer was in El Paso visiting incarcerated rapper 03 Greedo while the mass shooting occurred.
we are locked down in our hotel in el paso. over the intercom system they just announced that there are reports of another active shooter directly across the street at a location different from the first shootings.

Blink-182 was in town for a show, and Mark Hoppus tweeted they were about to head to the mall where the massacre took place when they got word their hotel was on lockdown.
Barker wasn’t with the band … he had traveled 250 miles to visit rapper 03 Greedo at the Fort Stockton prison.
We’re told Travis promised his friend he’d visit him whenever he was in Texas and made plans in advance to see him before the Blink concert. We’re told he was at the prison visiting Greedo at the time of the shooting … but didn’t get word of it until after he left.
Travis was horrified at the news, but thankful his bandmates and the crew were okay. Blink-182 postponed its show out of respect and to show solidarity with the community.
03 Greedo is serving a 20-year sentence due to gun and drug charges.
