Baby Blue Off House Arrest After Being Released From Prison Last Month

Last month, Baby Blue from the millennial R&B group was granted an early prison release for fraud charges, but now he’s announced that he’s been taken off of house arrest

Blue was originally sentenced to 20 months behind bars for a multi-million dollar PPP scam and turned himself in to federal authorities in February 2022. After serving only a year of his time, he was released and placed on house arrest. Now, a month later, he’s been taken off that restriction.

Blue announced via Instagram, “Just cut em off ✂ If they was in your circle and ain’t hold you down when you was going thru it… If they aint hold you down when you needed to be picked up… Cut em off like I just cut off this ankle monitor! 🤬😤🥶 #BiggMoneyBlue back in Motion!”

[WATCH] Pretty Ricky’s Baby Blue Receives Early Prison Release, Changes Name to “Bigg Money Blue”

News reports have confirmed that Baby Blue from the millennial R&B group Pretty Ricky was granted an early release today (February 7) after spending exactly one year behind bars for fraud charges in connection to an alleged Payment Protection Program (PPP) scam.

Blue, whose name is Diamond Smith, was sentenced to 20 months for his role in a 24 million-dollar Payment Protection Program, but Blue told The Shade Room that his reduced time was granted under the First Step Act, which was enacted by Donald Trump in 2018. The Pretty Ricky singer also said that he is officially changing his name to “Bigg Money Blue” and that he has new music and a book on the way.

Pretty Ricky’s Baby Blue To Begin 20-Month Federal Prison Sentence Feb. 7

According to Baby Blue’s verified Instagram page, the Pretty Ricky crooner will be turning himself into federal authorities on February 7 to start his 20-month federal prison sentence after being found guilty on a wire fraud conspiracy charge related to a PPP fraud scheme.

The Miami native, whose real name is Diamond Blue Smith, left his mailing address to FCI Coleman Low, the federal correctional facility where he will serve the sentence that he was handed down back in December.

Blue has also been ordered to pay $1,111,345 in restitution and $1,134,782 in forfeiture.

‘Madea’ Actress Ion Overman Among 19 Indicted In $3M PPP Fraud Scheme

According to a startling report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ion Overman, who starred in Madea Goes to Jail, is one of 19 people in the entertainment industry who have been named in a PPP fraud indictment that allegedly netted over $3 million.

An “unindicted co-conspirator” named Mark C. Mason Jr. was allegedly submitting fraudulent loan applications in order to assist others for a 2-5% “success fee”.

Other notables in the indictment include producer Carlos “Clos” Stephens, who has worked with Master P and his son, Lil Romeo. Also, actor Dale Godboldo, who has appeared in The People Vs O.J. Simpson and Thor, was named in the indictment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Georgia is handling this case, but no statement has been made by authorities in regards to Overman or any of the other co-conspirators.

‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’ Star Mo Fayne Sentenced To 17 Years In PPP Fraud Case

According to several confirmed reports, Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta regular Mo Fayne was sentenced to 17 years behind bars for his role in a PPP fraud case.

Fayne pleaded guilty to six charges, which included bank and wire fraud. The reality show star copped a plea in order to get 14 of the charges dropped, but the judge gave Fayne an extra five years on what was expected to be a twelve year sentence.

Fayne used the money from his PPP loan to pay off a $40K child support debt, $136K for a Rolls Royce, $85K in jewelry and $907K to start a new business in Arkansas.

According to TMZ, “Fayne submitted a $3.7 million PPP loan application, falsely claiming his trucking business had 107 employees and an average monthly payroll of $1,490,200.”
