Former Tekashi 6ix9ine Associate Kooda B Remanded to Jail for Social Distancing Violation

Screen Shot 2020 10 06 at 5.46.26 AM

Nine Trey Bloods associate Kooda B was freed following Judge Paul Engelmeyer’s decision to release the former Tekashi crony from Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center due to Covid-19, but the judge threw Kooda right back in the slammer for violating social distancing laws right after his release.

Kooda, whose real name is Kintea MacKenzie, was ordered to turn himself in after authorities were tipped to a video that shows MacKenzie partying with friends after his release.

Engelmeyer said that Kooda could’ve been exposed to the coronavirus just as much at the party as he would’ve in the federal holding facility in NYC.

MacKenzie has until Oct. 15th to turn himself in to the U.S. Marshals. He pleaded guilty to shooting at Chief Keef in 2018. His sentencing for the shooting was scheduled for November.

High-Key Details

According to reports, 6ix9ine received the green light to get out of prison. A judge’s order had him set to be released immediately as a result of the current coronavirus epidemic.

#Breaking: It’s done, Judge Engelmayer’s order on #6ix9ine has just come out, US asked that it be delayed: 69 “shall serve the first four months of supervised release on home incarceration, to be enforced by GPS monitoring, not to be docketed until 4 pm April 2″”

Wait, There’s More

On Wednesday, reports emerged about 6ix9ine’s possible legal victory. Buzz generated revealing he could get out from behind bars if a judge gave him the green light.

In a document shared by respected court journalist Matthew Russell Lee, who has covered all the trial dates of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s hearing, the rappers legal team claim the government have until 5pm to deny his release. The document from United States District Judge Engelmayer says that the court had received a request from Daniel Hernandez aka 6ix9ine for compassionate relief and that that had been denied. However, the document goes on to say, ‘…his application to convert the balance of his term of imprisonment to home confinement is now administratively proper’. (Capital Xtra)

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Co-Defendant Kooda B Granted Temporary Release Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

Tekashi 6ix9ine is punching the air right now because his co-defendant Kooda B was granted temporary release.

Complex obtained the request Kooda, born Kintea McKenzie, submitted and Judge Engelmayer identified him as high risk because he’s asthmatic. “The MCC (Metropolitan Correctional Center) has identified him as ‘high risk’ with respect to COVID-19,” as per the judge.

Kooda’s attorney, Lisa Scolari, requested that her client be released on a $300,000 bond as the coronavirus continues to pose as a threat to the prison system.

In the document, Scolari explained that he was given an albuterol inhaler upon his arrival “to address incidents of shortness of breath,” she writes. “He has needed to use the inhaler at least once in the last month.”

She continued saying the jail conditions are “inherently unsafe during this time.” Scolari added, “They are overcrowded, making it impossible to enforce the social distancing necessary to prevent the spread of the virus. Inmates live in close quarters, share facilities such as sinks and showers. The MCC also has shortages of soap and disinfectants.”

Now Kooda will be temporarily carrying out his sentence from home. Tekashi also submitted a request to complete the rest of his sentence under house arrest because he has pre-existing conditions that make him a “high risk” to contract the virus. But the judge denied his request claiming it was out of their jurisdiction and suggested that he submit his request to the Bureau of Prisons.
