Jason Mitchell was arrested in Harrison County Jail last week and was released on a $150,000 bond.

This was his recent run-in with the law. Following claims of misconduct, Mitchell was fired from the Netflix movie Desperado and dropped by Showtime’s The Chi.

His co-star Tiffany Boone left the series claiming that he sexually harassed her, but he denied those claims.

Jason Mitchell Reportedly Arrested for Possessing Drugs and ‘Mini Draco’

Trouble seems to be following Jason Mitchell. The actor was arrested in Mississippi for felony drug and gun charges.

He was booked in Harrison County Jail and he’s facing four charges as per online records.

Mitchell, who came on the scene after his portrayal of Eazy E in Straight Outta Compton, is facing two charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, plus two more felony charges for possession of a weapon by a felon.

The jail records indicate that Mitchell was caught with two grips including a Glock 19 pistol and a mini Draco AK47 semi-automatic pistol.

The 33-year-old was booted from The Chi after being accused of inappropriate behavior on set. Jason Mitchell went on The Breakfast Club claiming he didn’t even know what he was being accused of and was let go without being informed. Whatever he did cause his co-star, Tiffany Boone, to request to be released from her contract.

Mitchell’s camp has yet to publicly comment on the ordeal but hopefully, he can get it together.

Tiffany Boone Speaks Out After Leaving ‘The Chi’: “I felt that if I didn’t speak up, other voices that were trying to be heard would be silenced”

Baltimore actress Tiffany Boone left Showtime’s The Chi back in November of 2018, after accusing co-star Jason Mithell of sexual harassment.

Last May, Mitchell was terminated from the show following the accusations put out from Boone and showrunner, Ayanna Floyd Davis. In a recent post on Instagram, Boone further elaborated on her reasons behind leaving the show. “You don’t carelessly leave a ‘hit show’ that is praised by your community.” I deeply love Chicago and the people of that city who have embraced me. I felt honored and privileged to be part of telling their story. The weight of what I was leaving behind felt like a ton, but the weight of my responsibility to speak up was even heavier. There were people who questioned my decision. How could I be sure I would work again, especially on a project of that magnitude? I wasn’t sure, but I had faith that once I took that leap I could be guided wherever I was supposed to go.”

Not only was Mitchell released from The Black Reel Winning show, but he was also released from the Netflix movie Desperados following similar accusations from multiple actresses. He was also let go from his talent agency, UTA.

I wasn’t raised to quit jobs. Yet, a day came when I had to be brutally honest with myself about what I was willing to sacrifice just to have a job. Was I able to compromise my values, integrity, and happiness, just to be employed?” said Boone in her statement.

Boone departed from her role on The Chi in its second season. She mentioned that she had gone to HR during season 1 of the show, but felt that her concerns regarding the incident were ignored. “However, once we started filming, I quickly realized that not everyone was interested in creating a work environment that was conducive to each person feeling safe, seen and heard,” Boone wrote. “I felt that if I didn’t speak up, other voices that were trying to be heard would be silenced,” she stated.

Boone is now cast in Jordan Peele’s Amazon Series Hunters and Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu. The Chi will begin its third season on July 5th.

Former ‘The Chi’ Actor Jason Mitchell Denies Sexual Misconduct Claims

Premiere of Showtime's 'The Chi - Arrivals

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN

Actor Jason Mitchell is speaking out against sexual assault allegations that were made against him earlier this year.

On Monday (Nov. 4) during his interview with New York’s Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club, Jason Mitchell took time to address both claims, denying any wrongdoing and claims that both in part are misunderstandings. In regards to his departure from Netflix’s “Desperados” in April due to an incident involving an intoxicated female co-worker at a pre-production event in Mexico, Jason states that he was simply looking out for a coworker.

“Being the person that I am, I felt responsible to make sure she got home,” Jason Mitchell said. “Because they’re already telling us, like, ‘Don’t take the Ubers, don’t trust these people, don’t jump in a cab, don’t do any of that.’ We’re in Mexico City and we’re in a foreign land and we should stick together. This isn’t where I leave her. So I make sure she got home and the next day, it kind of all slapped me in the face; I’m not sure if her and her significant other had a situation, I made sure she got home but other than that, nothing really happened.”

Jason claims that although he did nothing wrong, he was dismissed from the film with pay but without an explanation as to why he was let go, before apologizing for offending anyone.

“For anybody who’s been around me, they know I’m one of the most loving, sweet people in the world, but if I did do anything, say anything, make anybody feel any kind of way, you have my deepest apologies,” Mitchell continued. “Like, honestly, my deepest apologies. Because that was never my intention of making anybody feel any sort of way.”

Mitchell also denied any wrong doing with former The Chi co-star Tiffany Boone, who publicly admitted that she felt “unsafe” around the actor. Mitchell claims that the story was pushed by the hit show’s showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis.

“There was actually no situation with Tiffany Boone,” Jason Mitchell said. “She was put in this position because this lady, Ayanna Floyd Davis, she did come out and go to Deadline and made a statement for Tiffany Boone. I was a little taken back by the whole situation that happened, but the actual reason I got let go was because Disney saw what was going on with ‘Desperados’ and they just bought Showtime,” Mitchell explained. “So they decided not to pick up my option. And of course, I’ve been on the show for what was about to be three seasons, I was nominated for an award, so I was asking for more money and all these sorts of things and they just weren’t down to do it.”

Mitchell went onto say that while he is an avid supporter of the “Me Too” movement, it’s situations like his that make it hard to stand in solidarity when someone makes a malicious claim.

“I really hate to say this, because I’m all for the Me Too movement,” Mitchell continued. “I have two beautiful daughters who I would like to be in the business, so I’m all for the Me Too movement. But I think in this situation, Aryanna tried to use it as a really, really ugly weapon.”

[WATCH] Actor Jason Mitchell Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations On ‘The Breakfast Club’

Actor Jason Mitchell, who was fired from his management company, The Chi series and the Netflix series Desperados because of the sexual misconduct accusations made against him, speaks about the controversy in his interview with The Breakfast Club yesterday.

Mitchell, who lost two acting gigs due to allegations made against him, gave his version of what happened in Mexico City during the incident in question in his interview on Power 105.

“To be honest I’m not 100 percent sure what the allegations themselves were, but I can tell you what happened. We were in pre-production and I went out with a co-worker of mine and she got drunk. Being the person that I am, I felt responsible to make sure she got home…we’re in Mexico City and we’re in a foreign land and we should stick together. This isn’t where I leave her. I made sure she got home and the next day it kind of all slapped me in my face,” Mitchell said.

“I felt like I was doing the right thing. The next day, they said they needed to talk to me about this activity and I told them my side of the story but it felt as if there is something that I missed,” continued the Superfly co-star.

When it comes to his firing from The Chi, Mitchell contrasts the story told by the show’s creator, Lena Waithe and Season 2 showrunner, Ayanna Floyd Davis.

According to reports, Mitchell’s girlfriend on The Chi, Tiffany Boone is one of several actresses who made complaints about the actor who played Eazy-E on Straight Outta Compton. Sources say Waithe didn’t do enough to protect her female cast members, but she vehemently states she yielded all the power she could to rectify the situation.

“Tiffany Boone left the show because she got a better job. She put in two seasons with us and she went on to get a better job. Anybody who knows Tiffany Boone knows that she is the epitome of a Black woman…if you try her, she will get you together, right then and there. I encourage people to be more like that. Had me and Tiffany ever had a situation in which she felt sexually harassed, she would have told me about myself in that moment,” said Mitchell.

Jason Mitchell Denied Misconduct Allegations During Interview on ‘The Breakfast Club’

Months after sexual misconduct allegations hit the net, leading to his firing from The Chi and other productions, Jason Mitchell has told his side of the story.

Appearing on The Breakfast Club, Mitchell spoke with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy and maintained innocence in the discussion.

Mitchell stated despite the claims of castmates and The Chi officials there wasn’t anything that went on between him and co-star Tiffany Boone. Instead, he believes showrunner Ayanna Floyd spoke for Boone after she was fired from the show about a comment she made toward Mitchell. He would go on to applaud Boone and her character, believing that she would check him if there was an issue.

“She’s the epitome of a Black woman. She has no kids, she’s super successful, and if you try her, she will get you together right then and there, you know what I mean?” Mitchell said. “She not takin’ nothin,’ at all. I encourage people to be more like that, because had me and Tiffany ever had a situation where I don’t know, she might have felt sexually harassed, I can bet my bottom dollar, she would have told me about myself in that moment.”

Mitchell would go on to state there weren’t any efforts from show creator Lena Waithe on the show beyond initial HR workshops.

“That’s for pretty much every production. I believe every production does this. They have someone come in and they teach you all about the workplace. Teach you how you’re supposed to handle people and talk to people and all this. So there was no actual workshops between us.”

Mitchell would also state that Boone’s boyfriend visiting set was not in defense of her, but instead because family is brought to the show all the time.

Jason Mitchell Completes Mental Health Counseling Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

For Your Consideration For Showtime's "The Chi"

Source: Amy Sussman / Getty

Former The Chi actor Jason Mitchell has decided to switch gears and make a few changes in his life.

According to published reports, the actor recently completed counseling for mental health and personal development, in an attempt to get his life back on track after being dropped by Hollywood amid sexual misconduct allegations. According to The ShadeRoom, sources told the publication that Jason Mitchell “has worked on anger management, self-awareness, acceptance of responsibility, and purpose.”

This news serves as a refreshing start for the actor, who just a few months ago shocked fans after news of his alleged on set antics were revealed to the public.

As previously reported, Mitchell was been booted from hit series The Chi, along with losing a leading role in an upcoming Netflix film after allegations of sexual harassment by his The Chi co-star Tiffany Boone, along with a handful of other women, who stated that Mitchell made them feel uncomfortable while on set. Things reportedly became so bad for Boone that she requested producers not schedule the two to work one-on-one, before asking to be released from the show altogether.

After the news broke, executive producers of the show released a statement denouncing their support of the Straight Outta Compton actor, before revealing that his character would be “killed off” of the show.

At the time, Mitchell took to Instagram to issue an informal statement in the comments, telling fans “not to believe everything you read in the media.”

“I think it’s time to make a statement,” Jason Mitchell previously wrote. “To everyone commenting without any knowledge of what’s going please stop. And to all my supporters I appreciate you all and I’m sorry I will no longer be in (‘The Chi’) but don’t believe what you read in the media.”

Despite the reports, Mitchell himself has yet to confirm or deny the rumors. His last social media post on both Instagram and Twitter was from May of this year a week prior to the allegations breaking, with the exception of a retweet on September 26.

Lena Waithe Says She Did Do Something About Jason Mitchell ,Twitter Still Is Giving Her The Side-Eye

Twitter Still Giving Lena Waithe The Side-Eye Despite Her Explanation

Source: Amy Sussman / Getty

Lena Waithe’s month of May was going great, but her buzz hit a roadblock thanks to Jason Mitchell and her silence on his alleged on-set shenanigans. The writer/actress//producer called into The Breakfast Club to tell her side of the story. Unfortunately, Twitter was not feeling her response.

All eyes have been on Waithe’s Twitter timeline since The Chi’s showrunner Ayanna Floyd revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that everyone, including Waithe, knew about Jason Mitchell’s behavior. Since the bombshell was dropped, social media was disappointed to see Lena Waithe who is known as a champion for women would be so silent about the situation especially being that it’s something she is directly involved with.

Waithe finally broke her silence calling into The Breakfast Club Thursday morning to speak on the situation, making it very clear she did try and do something. But she also explained at the time her voice wasn’t as powerful as it is now and now so her hands were basically tied.

“Season 1 of the Chi, that was shot maybe three years ago, and that was before people really knew who I was. I was one of those powerless women of color in this industry, even though someone could say, well you wrote a pilot, you created a show, you sold it. That’s true, but I didn’t have a ton of power on that show or a lot of say.”

“When it’s your first thing, you’re sort of almost an employee on your own thing. I knew I was aware of stuff I was dealing with on the show, but I wasn’t made aware of anything that was going on with Tiffany until after the season had wrapped.”

When she learned of the complaints of from Tiffany Boone about her co-star Mitchell who plays her on-screen boyfriend on the show Waithe claimed she took action immediately trying to improve the work environment. She explained that her hiring Ayanna Floyd, a Black woman to be showrunner was one her ways to try and fix the situation but later said that she wished she “could have done more.”

“We did discuss some stuff that just wasn’t appropriate. I remember looking at [Tiffany] because we were Facetiming and I was like, ‘Yo, this is not cool, and ‘I feel awful that you had an experience on my set that was not pleasant.’ By that point though, after the season had wrapped, I had a little bit more power, and I had a little bit more clout. I was like, ‘Here’s what I’m going to do to change that. I’m going to hire a woman of color as the showrunner.’”

Waite pretty much explained everything was up to Showtime when it came to disciplining Mitchell. Despite breaking down the whole situation, Twitter was not feeling her response and gave her side-eyes up and down Twitter timelines. The claims against Jason Mitchell continue to hurt his career. Viacom has now formally pulled his nods due to allegations of misconduct.
