Drake Signs Letter to President Biden and Congress Urging for Gaza Ceasefire

Drake Becomes First Rapper to Earn $5 Million in a Single Arena Concert

Drake is part of a large number of artists who signed an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The letter was created by Artists4Ceasefire, asking for an immediate resolution to the battle occurring in the Middle East stemming from the Israeli and Hamas conflict.

“We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages,” the letter reads. “Half of Gaza’s two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach them.”

According to HipHopDX, the letter also received support from Jennifer Lopez, Killer Mike, and more.

Earlier this month, DJ Vlad questioned where Drake and DJ Khaled’s voices were during the latest escalation of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. In case you missed it, Israel and Palestinian War has been raging after an attack by Hamas. You can learn more about the conflict here.

Hitting Twitter, Vlad blasted Drake and Khaled for how their status could illuminate the situation.

“Has anyone noticed that the most famous Jewish person on Earth, Drake, and the most famous Palestinian person on Earth, DJ Khaled, haven’t said a single thing about the Gaza-Israel conflict?” Vlad wrote. ” It’s not like Drake is too busy. He’s been writing paragraphs about Joe Budden hurting his feelings about his new album. DJ Khaled has been working overtime promoting his new Jordan sneakers. But both of them have been silent on this topic. Why is that?”

You can see his full statement below.

Dennis Graham Thinks It’s Best Drake Doesn’t Speak on Israel Conflict

Drake’s dad is just fine with Drake not speaking a word about the conflict in the Middle East. After DJ Vlad attempted to shade Drake for his decision not to speak, TMZ caught up with Dennis Graham, who thinks his son should stay out of it.

“It affects everybody, it’s totally ridiculous,” Graham said. “If you say something about this one you going to get criticized. If you say something about someone else you going to get criticized. Stay out of it, especially if you are someone well known.”

American military aid is headed to Israel after Hamas aimed at southern Israel. President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the attack ahead of the send.

Over 600 people have been killed in the attacks, with another 100 kidnapped. In retaliation, 313 people were killed in Gaza via air strikes.

According to BBC, the U.S. will also attempt to block the nation’s enemies from attacking Israel in the current struggle. The fleet sent by America includes US Navy ships, fighter jets, and an aircraft carrier, stationed in the eastern Mediterranean.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinkin stated the nation is currently looking to verify reports of American citizens dead in the attacks.

Blinkin told ABC, “this is a massive terrorist attack that is gunning down Israeli civilians in their towns, in their homes, and as we’ve seen so graphically, literally dragging people across the border with Gaza.

“So, you can imagine the impact this is having throughout Israel. And the world should be revolted at what it has seen.”

Hamas acted with Iran to attack Israel, receiving public support from Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi, who stated Israel should be held accountable for endangering the region.

CNN Fires Marc Lamont Hill, Twitter Going Ballistic Over The News

Meek Mill Supporters Protest On Day Of Status Hearing

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill has carved out a career as one of the more visible CNN commentators in recent times and has been applauded for his strong views and stances. However, the network fired Hill after comments he made about Israel and Palestine rubbed his bosses the wrong way apparently.

The Hill reports:

Hill had urged countries to boycott Israel in a speech at the U.N. on Wednesday, calling for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea.”

“We have an opportunity to not just offer solidarity in words but to commit to political action, grass-roots action, local action and international action that will give us what justice requires and that is a free Palestine from the river to the sea,” Hill said in his speech.

The phrase “from the river to the sea” is a phrase used by anti-Israel terror groups, including Hamas, that have stated it wants to replace Israel with a Palestinian state that would extend from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

Hill’s use of the phrase sparked rapid criticism and outrage from a variety of sources, including the Anti-Defamation League and the National Council of Young Israel on Thursday.

Reaction to Hill’s firing has been rapid, and his name has become a top trending topic on Twitter where the discussion is still quite robust. We’ve captured some of the comments via the social media network below.
