Diddy Shows Love to Shyne in His Run For Belize’s House of Representatives

Diddy

Former Bad Boy artist Shyne Barrow has announced his run for the House of Representatives in his homeland of Belize and his former boss Diddy has shown him some love for his campaign.

Following his release from prison after the 1999 shooting at Club NY, Shyne pursued a career in politics in Belize and the hard work seems to be paying off. The Bad Boy Records head honcho took to IG to express his support for the “Bad Boyz” rapper.

Shyne’s involvement with Belize’s politics is sort of inherited, with his father being elected the Prime Minister of the country in 2008. Also, if he wins the seat, he will be succeeding his uncle.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley Proudly Rocks Bald Head After Revealing Struggle with Alopecia

Rally To Demand "Impeachment Now!"

Massachusetts Representative Ayanna Pressley is boldly walking in her truth after revealing that she has been struggling with alopecia.

On Thursday (Jan.16) in a transparent interview with The Root, Rep. Pressley vulnerably revealed that she is bald after suffering a fierce battle with alopecia that cost her her cherished crown.

“This is my official public revealing,” Pressley said in the interview. “I’ve only been bald in the privacy of my home and in the company of close friends.”

Rep. Pressley, who proudly began donning her natural tresses five years ago, flexed her Black Girl Magic when she sported waist length Senegalese twists while in office.

”What happened is that, I got these Senegalese twists and I feel like I met myself fully for the first time,” the congresswoman said. “You know, I sort of looked in the mirror and I said, ‘oh, there I am,’ and it felt good.”

Although many interpreted her fierceness as a political statement, Rep. Pressley states that the decision to wear her natural hair was a personal decision to reflect her cultural pride.

“What I was not prepared for was the glorious gift and blessing of the acceptance and the community and the affirmation,” Pressley said. “Now I walk into rooms and little girls are wearing T-shirts that say ‘my congresswoman wears braids.’”

Rep. Pressley shared that when she started to notice that her patches of short hair had turned into full blown section of baldness last fall, she began to feel like she was losing her identity.

“I did not want to go to sleep because I did not want the morning to come where I would remove this bonnet and my wrap and be met with more hair in the sink,” Rep. Pressley continued. “I was completely bald and in a matter of hours, was going to have to walk into the floor, the House Chamber, House of Representatives, and cast a vote in support of articles of impeachment.”

Although the act of going public with her struggles took a lot of courage, Pressley noted that for her it was the first step in walking in the newness of who she is and she hopes that her transparency will continue to inspire others.

“I felt naked, exposed, vulnerable. I felt embarrassed. I felt ashamed,” she said. “I felt betrayed, and then I also felt that I was participating in a cultural betrayal because of all the little girls who write me letters, who come up to me, who take selfies with me #twistnation,” Rep. Ayanna Pressley said. “I am ready now because I want to be freed from the secret, and the shame that that secret carries with it, because I’m not here just to occupy space, I’m here to create it.”

Token Black Republican Slams Donald Trump In Concession Speech

Rep. Mia Love...

Incumbent congresswoman and GOP member Rep. Mia Love of Utah was locked in a tight race against Democrat hopeful Ben McAdams that has been boiling over since Election Day earlier this month. In her concession speech, Congresswoman Love slammed her fellow Republican, President Donald Trump, this after he took a jab at her for not embracing him and thus suggesting that’s why she lost her race.

CNN reports:

Love conceded to Democrat Ben McAdams in their Utah congressional race, giving Democrats another pickup in the House of Representatives and bringing the party’s net seat gain to 38. Love, who has represented the district since 2015, had been locked in a close race with McAdams, the mayor of Salt Lake County, since Election Day nearly three weeks ago.

Love made the comments about Trump in response to the President’s post-Election Day news conference, in which he declared that Love had lost the race despite votes still being counted and attacked the congresswoman for not embracing him as a campaigner.

“Mia Love gave me no love and she lost,” Trump said. “Too bad. Sorry about that, Mia.”

“The President’s behavior towards me made me wonder: What did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican,” Love said during her speech in Salt Lake City. “It was not really about asking him to do more, was it? Or was it something else? Well Mr. President, we’ll have to chat about that.”

She continued, “However, this gave me a clear vision of his world as it is. No real relationships, just convenient transactions. That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy.”

Interesting.

Congresswoman Love went on to say that the Republican Party will continue to lose out politically in attracting Black and minority voters stating that it appears that the rival Democratic Party does a better job of inviting discourse among communities of color.

Why Auntie Maxine Waters Has Wall Street Shaking in Their Balenciaga Boots

Ask any young person you know about Blacks in politics on the national level and you will be hard pressed to find a long list of names. Of course, you will hear President Barack Obama. You might even hear Stacey Abrams on account of her recent campaign or Corey Booker because of his courageous opposition to Brett Kavanaugh during those recent confirmation hearings earlier in the summer. One name that you will most certainly here is Maxine Waters. But you won’t hear it like that with your millennial. You will hear her by a moniker that is chock-full of endearment, love, and trust: Auntie Maxine.

Waters has become beloved by so many because of her unwavering commitment to the civil rights of her people, her unabashed tongue and that look she gives to folk across the aisle that work clearly work her nerves.

During Tuesday’s mid-term election, Rep. Waters claimed an easy win in California’s 43rd Congressional District over Trump support, Omar Navarro. This is not the first time Navarro has challenged and lost to the octogenarian. The GOP keeps trying, but her supporters not only appreciate her raw and honest politics but have rallied to keep her guard against any opposition.

There is a reason for them to protect her and keep her in office: She is positioned to throw a monkey wrench in 45’s wicked scheme to make the rich get richer and to tap dance on the poor.

Auntie Maxine has served for 14 terms as a House member and has been the top Democrat on the banking panel since 2013 when she replaced retired Congressman Barney Frank from Massachusetts. Because of her ranking, she is poised to become the chair of the panel, thanks to the drastic loss that the GOP suffered in the midterm election. This has the GOP, Big Business and Wall Street shaking in their designer boots.

Waters keeps coming at 45’s neck because he is so soft on Big Business and Wall Street.

Calling for an increase in national bank regulations, she clearly is on the opposite side of President Trump and his Capitol Hill allies. Recently, she has released a report with other Dems calling for Wells Fargo to close their doors and pledging to call for higher fines for financial institutions that try to skirt around the law. Waters has said that if she wins (AND SHE DID) and Dems take control of the house, that she would focus on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and housing reform.

And so… it is safe to say that Wall Street did not rejoice when Auntie Maxine won her race. We will sit back with popcorn to see how all of this plays out.
