[WATCH] Diddy Denied Biggie Sample For Conway The Machine, Cleared Sample For King Combs

Hitamaka recently sat down with Superstar Jay on SiriusXM’s Shade 45 and during the interview, Hitmaka revealed that Diddy denied Conway The Machine a Notorious B.I.G. sample and later cleared it for his son King Combs. He also shared that King Combs’ song “Naughty” was initially Boosie Badazz’s record.

Hitmaka on Diddy, Conway The Machine & Boosie Badazz controversy

Superstar Jay: Would you do a record for Boosie?

Hitmaka: Of course. I’ve done records for Boosie. Christian Combs had a record called “Naughty” with Jeremih and I had just started working with Atlantic Records at that time and actually Boosie had that record first and no disrespect respectfully to Christian because we got a bunch of other records that went crazy too. I love Boosie’s version more and Puff called Craig Calvin and was like, “No, I need that record,” and this was when I first started working at Atlantic and Craig called me like, “What did you do to Diddy?”

Superstar Jay: Why do you always get controversy with Christian because the record that I love with A Boogie, Jeremih was Conway’s record. I remember Conway telling me even when I told you about it, he was like, “Man.” Puff was like, “F that.”

Hitmaka: No, no, no, but Puff will do that though. You know what I’m saying? Look, Boosie had that record first. Christian wanted that record. Jeremih gave it to Christian. We recorded the record with Boosie first at Jeremih’s house. I was excited about it. I’m like, “This is a hit.” Boosie was going crazy, snapped on it. Me and Jeremih ended up seeing Christian. He gave him the record. I was standing on it like, “Nah.” I just started working for Atlantic. This Boosie record, Boosie was on Atlantic, so I’m like, “Yo, this Boosie record.” Puff called Craig Calvin. Craig Calvin called me like, “Christian, what is going on? Why is Sean Combs calling me?” I’m like, “I don’t know what’s going on.” It ended up being Christian’s record. The Conway situation, in that record with Conway, I ended up sampling a Diddy song and he wouldn’t clear the record for us. He wouldn’t clear the record for nobody except his son and that’s why Christian Combs got that record too. Salute to Christian and Diddy though.

DJ Superstar Jay: VIP Saturdays airs on SiriusXM’s Shade 45 on Saturdays at 8:00pm ET and is available anytime on the SiriusXM app.

While speaking on publishing issues in music, Hitmaka revealed that he has an issue with DJ Mustard.

Appearing on Way Up with Angela Yee, Hitmaka revealed he was working under Mustard on a song, that ended up being “Whatever You Need.”

“I was working under DJ Mustard early in my career and did a record and I gave it to Mustard,” Hitmaka said. “We ended up not working together anymore and he went and reproduced the record and hook because it was a sample. That turned into ‘Whatever You Need,’ Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and Ty Dolla $ign.”

Hitmaka revealed he was able to recover his publishing once he got leverage and advised everyone to have a lawyer on retainer.

You can hear it from Hitmaka below.

Eric Bellinger and Hitmaka Connect for New Project ‘1(800) HIT-EAZY: LINE 2’

Eric Bellinger and Hitmaka Connect for New Project '1(800) HIT-EAZY: LINE 2'

Eric Bellinger, GRAMMY-nominated multi-platinum singer/songwriter, and super producer Hitmaka release their new album 1(800) HIT-EAZY: LINE 2 on All Wins Ent./EMPIRE.

The highly anticipated album, 1(800) HIT-EAZY: LINE 2, follows Eric’s critically acclaimed GRAMMY-nominated album New Light and is the second edition of the singer and producer duo’s 1(800) HIT-EAZY series. In addition to previously released hit songs “Obsession,” “Obsession” Remix ft. Muni Long, the gym anthem “BNB” (Brand New Body), and “Decide,” the 14-track project has special performances from Blxst, Cordae, Tink, Blxst, Kalan.FrFr, Fabolous, and recent GRAMMY winner Muni Long.

“For the first time in a long time, I stepped outside of talking about my personal relationship & emotions to speak on behalf of the fellas!” Bellinger said of the release. “If you listen to the project from start to finish, you hear a 14-track story filled with love, vulnerability, and betrayal, but this time from the male’s perspective. We hear a lot about men living double lives, but we’ve never heard the story when the roles are reversed. I took it upon myself to tell the story of the side dude.”

Hitmaka also shared, “Me and Eric really had a lot of fun putting this one together. The fans really showed loved on the first one, so getting back in the lab for Line 2 was a no-brainer. The whole project shed light on a perspective in relationships we don’t usually see or hear about.”

You can hear the album below.

Eric Bellinger and Hitmaka have returned with their new single “Decide.” The single is the introduction to the 1-800-Hit-Eazy: Line 2, which is set to release on Feb. 10.

Eric asked his Instagram followers earlier this week which version of “Decide” to release, and choice one was the easy winner. On the single, Bellinger gives his partner an ultimatum concerning their relationship in this co-produced song by Keyz and Hitmaka.

“Decide” follows the previous singles from the new LP, “BNB,” “Obsession,” and “Obsession” Remix with fellow celebrated songwriter-turned-artist and 2023 GRAMMY-nominee Muni Long. Eric will also embark on “The Obsession Tour,” which will include stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and other cities, on Feb. 2.

Hitmaka and Mustard Get Into Internet Beef After Joe Budden Podcast Clip Resurfaces

dj mustard

Saying “I’d beat you in a Verzuz battle” has become a new way for artists to say “your catalogue is trash compared to mine.” Recently, a resurfaced clip from the Joe Budden Podcast resurfaced on the internet. The clip shows producer Hitmaka saying that he would beat Los Angeles bred producer, Mustard, in a Verzuz battle.

A Twitter user by the name @MikeMector incited the feud by posting the clip on social media and tagging the two producers. “This guy @_Hitmaka must be smoking d**k thinking he can beat @mustard is a Verzuz. You named one song and they laughed at you,” he Tweeted.

Mustard responded to the post, Tweeting “he’s high man lol.”

Hitmaka then responded, defending himself and his catalogue. He claimed that it had been 5 years since the last time the two worked together, and since then, Hitmaka claims he has sold more records and had more number ones than Mustard.

Mustard took Hitmaka’s words jokingly, responding “lmfao the fact that you believe that shows how high you really are lol.”

Hitmaka then responded, posting a picture of a record plaque, saying “Really? This 3 years old I’m a couple away from 100 now.”

Mike Mector then chimed in, throwing more shade at Hitmaka, saying “Are these hot 100 number 1 records?cuz if not that don’t count as a number 1 sir.” Hitmaka responded, “I really got records that’s triple & double platinum & one that’s almost 10 million when bro was like a sophomore in HS he play sum from 2012 I can go there.”

Mike Mector went ahead and did his due diligence and tallied up the RIAA certifications for both producers, putting Hitmaka’s claims to rest.

Mustard then took to IG to continue to throw shade at Hitmaka, saying that he could not beat him in a Verzuz.

Hitmaka then took it back to Twitter to tell Mustard to get his 20 songs ready and that they can put some money up to make the battle more interesting.

Who do you think would win a Hitmaka v. Mustard Verzuz?

Hitmaka Offered Noreaga Compensation to Edit Clip Where He Shares Alleged Sexual Relationship With Naturi Naughton

Hitmaka Offered Noreaga Compensation to Delete Clip Where He Shares Alleged Sexual Relationship With Naturi Naughton

Hitmaka made headlines recently for describing his alleged sexual relationship with Naturi Naughton in a not-so-flattering light during an appearance on Drink Champs.

The rapper-turned-producer was a guest on Angela Ye’s Lip Service and says that he feels regretful and offered compensation to make it go away. “Nah see um after I did it, I don’t know if y’all’s in tune or whatever like I went live with Fat Joe like I literally hit Nore like ‘Yo I don’t want this out I don’t want it to come out please edit it, I will pay for whatever with the interview, however it cost or whatever like i’ll take care of it.’”

Knowing that it’ll be a good look for his show, the host, Noreaga posted the full unedited interview anyway. “Like I felt bad about the fact you know what I’m saying after the fact – but I mean you know that it is my truth, like you know what i’m saying but I didn’t want it to come out like that and I knew they was going to clip it up and make it like a thing like that and I asked them not to but they did it anyway.”

Although he did take accountability for not being a stand up guy, he reassured that there’s no cap in his rap. “At the same token like it is my truth you know what I’m saying? But I definitely feel like it could have been a little more tasteful than what it was but, it was drink champs you already know what they did you know what I’m saying?”

Hitmaka added that it’s a 20-year-old story and he didn’t consider the singer turned actress’ growth. “But I didn’t take into consideration where her life could be right now and what she could have going on and that’s what my thing was with Nore.  Like ‘yo like let’s not put that out there’ and he told me he wasn’t gonna put it out and of course like a n*gga he went and chopped it up and then used all this as clips or whatever so it wasn’t nothing I could do about it you know.”

Hitmaka Alleges Pop Smoke Murderers Are Behind His Home Invasion

Hitmaka Teases Ladies Anthem Featuring Dream Doll, Young MA, Dreezy, Chinese Kitty, and Mulatto

Just a month after Pop Smoke’s murder, Hitmaka stepped up to say that he believes the same group of people behind Pop Smoke’s murder are the same group of people who allegedly killed Pop Smoke.

The Love and Hip Hop star showed security footage from his home that looked to be three armed individuals attempting to break into his Los Angeles home. The producer at first believed that he was set up by a woman that he was seeing, which is what led him to believe the killer’s behind Pop Smoke’s murder has some involvement in his attempted home invasion.

In a conversation with Drink Champs, the Hitmaka detailed his experience, sharing that he still suffers from PTSD regarding that incident. “They tried to come and kick in my crib. I had the alarm on. The crazy thing is that when it was happening, instead of her being like a girl who was in the midst of a home invasion like I was, she was fighting me. She was trying to fight me. She punched me again when it happened,” he stated.

Once Hitmaka reached his home in Miami, he claims that Pop Smoke’s girlfriend let him know that the people who came after him were the same individuals who murdered Pop Smoke.

The accuracy of these details have yet to be confirmed, but we will keep You updated on the story.
