These rappers are making sure we have plenty to talk about during the coronavirus global pandemic. Gucci Mane is catching some serious flack for a tweet that many believe is making light of the very serious situation that the world is facing right now.

We don’t know what was going through Gucci Mane’s head at the time, but instead of using his energy to pray to the lord to remain healthy, he instead expressed he used the power tool to wish his hater dies from COVID-19. The rapper is currently catching a lot of heat for the Tweet that is surprisingly still up on his page that he sent on Easter Sunday of all days.

“I pray my haters die of corona virus,” the “I Get The Bag” rapper said.

To let his fans know that he was dead serious about what he said, he shared it on Instagram as well for good measure. That post is also still up despite many of his brothers from the Hip-Hop community frowning upon it. He even had the audacity to caption it “Happy Easter.”

Happy Easter 🐇

A post shared by Gucci Mane (@laflare1017) on

Before this head*ss moment, Gucci has been praised tremendously due to turning his life around remarkably following his release from prison.  He got rid of the Gucci gut and seemingly became a more peaceful man shedding the persona that he was notoriously known for that landed him in the first place. Just recently, he even accepted responsibility for his beef with the toxic god, Future over Free Bricks 2: Zone 6 Edition.

But it would still seem that some of the old Gucci still lingers inside of him. The very offensive tweet comes on the heel of members of the Hip-Hop community catching the virus themselves. Fred The Godson, Slim Thug, and Scarface all revealed they were or still battling COVID-19.

We hope Gucci takes the posts down and issue an apology until then you can peep the reactions to his tweet in the gallery below.

D.C. Dummies: Washington Shuts Down Wharf After Social Distancing Rules Violated

As the nation wrestles with the spread of the novel coronavirus and flattening the curve of COVID-19, a gathering this weekend was a spectacular failure in preventing more potential cases. Washington, D.C.‘s popular Wharf area was packed with people not observing the social distancing rules thus getting the operation shut down.

Nestled in Washington’s Southwest section, The Wharf has been a hot spot for years for those looking to buy fresh seafood and other goods. In recent times due to the rapidly gentrifying region, it has also become part of the city’s nightlife and dining scene with several establishments erected in the past few years. Photos of the crowd began surfacing on social media, sparking shock and anger and the negligence of not only the patrons but the people serving the public as well.

As reported by local outlet NBC 4, Mayor Muriel Bowser issued an order that vendors at the open-air Municipal Fish Market at The Wharf will have to close down. Travel to the area will be allowed for residences and workers in the region according to a statement from the Wharf Community Association.

The vendors will be allowed to operate once they share their plans with the D.C. Restaurant Association officials on ensuring that social distancing rules are observed.

The latest numbers provided by the city note that 1,097 cases reported with 19 deaths. There isn’t a record of hospitalization as the city hasn’t provided those numbers. In comparison, Maryland has reported over 4,000 positive cases and 91 deaths, with Virginia reporting nearly 2,900 cases and 54 deaths.

You Ain’t Bugging: The Internet Is Being Slowed Down Due To Surging Traffic

The Internet Is Being Slowed Down Due To Record Surge In Usage

Source: Future Publishing / Getty

If you been on your computer and noticed downloading things takes a bit longer than usual you’re not tripping. The internet has indeed been slowed down due to the unprecedented amount of strain on it it.

The New York Times reports that internet speed is taking a hit due to the record surge of users due to the coronavirus pandemic that has a lot of people now stuck at home. The report details how broadband speeds in the United States have declined since states began issuing stay-at-home orders to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Per the New York Times:

And last week, as a wave of stay-at-home orders rolled out across the United States, the average time it took to download videos, emails, and documents increased as broadband speeds declined 4.9 percent from the previous week, according to Ookla, a broadband speed testing service. Median download speeds dropped 38 percent in San Jose, Calif., and 24 percent in New York, according to Broadband Now, a consumer broadband research site.

Europe’s internet service has also felt the strain as well, back in mid-February, Italy, Germany, and Spain, seeing internet speeds begin to take a hit.

Companies have begun to combat the issue by taking specific measures. European regulators have urged streaming services like Netflix and YouTube to reduce the file size of their video files, so they don’t take up so much bandwidth. In the United States, wireless service providers were given “access to more spectrum to bolster the capacity of their networks.” YouTube has even downgraded the quality of its videos from high to standard definition, around the world. Disney+ launch in France was delayed by two weeks.

We reported yesterday that video game companies like Microsoft and PlayStation were monitoring the situation closely. Xbox is even urging game studios to roll out necessary updates and new releases during off-peak hours to reduce network congestion.

“Microsoft’s Xbox gaming business recently asked large gaming companies to release online updates of their games during off-peak hours while it helped focus on the critical internet needs of people involved in the coronavirus crisis, according to an Xbox email reviewed by The New York Times. Video game updates can require great amounts of bandwidth to download.”

“Xbox asked the companies to release updates in a four-hour overnight window in North America, and only from Monday through Thursday.”

We just hope this crisis doesn’t go on for much longer, but it seems the companies are on top of things…for now.
