Snow Tha Product Talks Kehlani, Tech N9ne + More On Eve Of New GOIN OFF Tour

Snow Tha Product

West Coast rapper Snow Tha Product is gearing up for a non-stop touring grind. Ahead of her Goin Off Tour 2019 kicking off tomorrow in California, the hip-hop artist talks to SOHH about all things touring.

In the future, I would love to do something with like a strong, dope a** kick. These girls don’t need it though, that’s the thing. People don’t really need co-headliners but I would love to do something with Kehlani or Jessie Reyez. Or any chick that we would kind of mesh well would be my pick. That type of thing would be dope. Me and Kehlani have a similar type of thing. It’s kind of a West Coast feel. I’m a really big fan of hers.

I usually eat a lot of almonds and beef jerky. I’m on Keto’s so I try to eat no carbs. So I keep it to that. I like to eat a lot of lettuce wrap cheeseburgers. I drink a lot of water. Usually I drink tequila out on the road but this new tour I’m drinking a lot of champagne. So it should be good. It should be fun.

I feel like my first concert was Tech N9ne. I was already a rapper. He invited me personally and I came out. I had never really gone to concerts. It wasn’t even that long ago. I just wasn’t much of a concertgoer because I couldn’t afford it when I was little. He’s an amazing rapper and I was just super inspired. I was in awe of his show and his breath control. He actually was the one who hit me up about my breath control and my technique rapping. So when I watched him on stage, I was like, ‘No wonder. He really knows about this.’

I’m actually pretty fond of my sleep. I take naps. I sleep short amounts and then I wake up and get back into it. Randomly. Lately, I’ve been getting up at five in the morning and then randomly I’ll take a nap and then wake up for a few more hours before I go to sleep at night. When I’m not touring, I have a really comfortable bed. When I bought it, the guy who sold it to me said, “This is the bed Oprah has.”

I’m doing exactly what I’ve always done. The only difference is I don’t have people telling me what not to do which ends up hindering my stuff. With this tour, you can see dates are selling out months in advance. That’s a new thing for me because I’m finally allowed to do whatever I want. I know what fans want. I’m very close to my fans. That’s one thing that’s always been very important to me. I was so close to my fans just to have somebody else tell me what not to do when I know what me and the fans want. I just feel excited and free and the energy is just so much better. There are no restraints. That’s the biggest thing about it.

Drumma Boy Says New “Live On” Tribute Video Helps Keep His Slain Brother’s Memory Alive

Drumma Boy Live On Video

Months after losing his brother Ensayne Wayne to gun violence in Atlanta, hip-hop producer Drumma Boy talks to SOHH about dealing with the passing and pouring his heart into the newly released “Live On” tribute video.

1. Who – do you really want to make sure sees your “Live On” tribute video? Is it more about family members seeing it, the fans, anyone who has lost someone?

I made this song and video for my own self-healing to be honest. So many people been distant not knowing what to say or how I would handle this situation and respond. This was the first time all of his kids and grandchildren were together all in one room, so it was special and important for the family it was done. The relationships that came together due to “the celebration of Wayne’s life” as my mom labeled his funeral, have been simply a miracle in itself, and I know my brother is smiling down on my efforts to carry his name and legacy forever.

2. What – will it take for gun violence to finally end in the United States?

Spreading more love and sharing more love I feel is the only answer. So many people who just don’t know what it feels like to be loved, or to have a big brother or someone to look up to positively.

3. Where – did you actually shoot the “Live On” video at?

I shot this video in my mom’s house, at my brothers actual gravesite, and downtown Memphis at the basketball courts on the bluff of the city by the Mississippi river.

4. When – did you know you had to put together this music video in your brother’s memory?

So as I made the song I knew I had to drop something this year for him period – with all his kids in it to show something they can look back on and take care of each other as they carry his legacy.

5. Why – is this record more than a tribute anthem?

The record is his legacy, and so many people have DM’d me or commented how this song helps them cope with losing a loved one or someone close. I just want to touch anyone with this record or help someone make it through hard times and continue to be a blessing to as many people as possible.

WWE Champion Becky Lynch Tells Us Who’s The Cardi B Of Wrestling Right Now

Becky Lynch Courtesy of Cyrus SOHH

With a highly-anticipated Smackdown show set to go down next Tuesday (October 23) at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center, WWE champion Becky Lynch took a moment from her Devils WWE Night Thursday (October 18) to chop it up with SOHH about everything from her rise to the top to naming the Cardi B of her sport.

1. Who – is the Cardi B of the WWE?

The Cardi B of the WWE. She talks a lot, right? Flexes a lot. But has the numbers to back it up. Talks a lot. Has the numbers to back it up. Flexes a lot. That sounds like the camp. That sounds like the champ. I don’t know though. I don’t know. Because I have a different swagger about me. I want to answer this properly. Who would be the Cardi B? Maybe Carmella. Maybe Carmella. She talks a lot. She flexes a lot. She says she’s money. I mean, isn’t that Cardi B kinda says? Things like that? Kind of? A little? Alright, let’s give it to Carmella.

2. What – is your go-to pre-match food?

I love grapes. There are so many grapes. Have you had cotton candy grapes? There’s these things called cotton candy grapes and they’re amazing. They taste like cotton candy. Then there’s the moon grapes. Have you seen them? They’re the lengthy grapes. There’s a whole world of grapes out there. THe other day, I had these little grapes and they tasted like grape jelly. There’s this sugar explosion but they’re just regular grapes. They’re real. Probably genetically modified grapes but my goodness were they delicious. The champs likes a lot of grapes. She likes the antioxidants of grapes. It’s not that she’s a wino and she can’t wait, no, she likes the grapes. And in catering there’s always lots of good, fresh fruit and I don’t know. I like something there’s very light. I try not to eat very much during the day when I’m wrestling. But I need a little energy. I’ll pop a few grapes into my mouth.

3. Where – do you find yourself with the whole WWE Evolution?

Where do I see myself in it? I see myself as the real main event, whether I am actually the main event, people know that I am the real main event. I see myself Charlotte Flair laying on the ground. She’s not standing up. She’s going to be left for dead and I’m going to be the last woman standing.

4. When – did you realize this was your passion? When did you realize WWE was your calling?

I was actually wrestling for two years when I was 15. I started wrestling when I was 15. I didn’t go with the intention of being the WWE superstar because I didn’t believe it was an attainable goal. How does a girl who has failed PE and being a little bit of a chubby kid her whole life go on to be a WWE superstar? But I loved it. There was nothing that gave me such drive and such purpose. After two years of just wrestling and trying my hardest, getting better at something and dedicating myself to something for the first time in my life, I was like, ‘Ah, no, this is really what I want to do.’

5. Why – is right now the Becky Lynch takeover?

I have been the underdog and overlooked for far too long. I have been the carrier of the division. I have carried every single person through that division. I have been a stepping stone for people to use to make a name for themselves. I’m sick of that. I finally got enough belief in myself to say, ‘No. I’m not being a stepping stone for anybody.’ I’m being on the top. I’m the top dog and I’m taking it and I’m not waiting for anybody’s permission. I’m not asking anybody for permission and I’m not asking anybody for forgiveness either. This is my time. I’m claiming it. I own this and I deserve this.

WWE’s SmackDown goes down Tuesday, October 23 at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.
