T.I.’s Assault Charges are Dismissed From Security Guard Confrontation

T.I. has one less charge to worry about in connection to his unfair arrest outside of his own gated community in Atlanta.

The case’s prosecutors have chosen to drop the assault charge the rapper was facing, as per a report by TMZ on Wednesday (Oct. 17). As previously reported, Tip was arrested in May for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct as the result of an altercation with a security guard in his neighborhood who refused to let the rapper past the gate because he lacked proper identification.

T.I’s. lawyer made the following announcement, “Tip was in contact with ‘Tiny’ by phone and ‘Tiny confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip.”

The guard insists that the Dime Trap rapper was insinuating a physical altercation, yet he denied those cases. Afterward, footage surfaced of the guards making fun of T.I.

Prosecutors determined that there wasn’t enough proof to pursue an assault charge, however, he still faces three counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and one count of misdemeanor public drunkenness.
