Vanilla Ice to Perform in Texas Despite COVID-19 Concerns

Would you risk contract COVID-19 in order to see a rapper live in concert? What if the said rapper was Vanilla Ice? That’s exactly what some in Austin, Texas may be doing.

Vanilla Ice will appear at Emerald Point Bar & Grill on July 3. But, all bars are closed in the state due to an executive order from Gov. Greg Abbott right? Well, yes. Vanilla Ice found a loophole in that as pointed out by The Austin Chronicle. The venue is listed as a restaurant, which will allow the show to continue at a capacity of 50 percent. Even at half of a crowd, 2,500 people can come in.

“We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers,” Ice said on Instagram. “We had 5.0’s, Blockbuster, Beavis and Butt-Head, Wayne’s World, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.”

Weird flex, Ice.

You can see his post teasing the event below. And before you pull up, Texas is currently putting up record numbers in new COVID-19 cases.
