It’s been no secret that rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, has been cooperating with the feds. In September he took the stand to testify in his racketeering case. It was reported that because of the “FeFe” rapper’s cooperation with the feds would lower his sentence.

Attorney Moe Gangat shared an Instagram post a week ago telling fans that he had seen legal paperwork indicating that Tekashi would be set free by Wednesday, December 18th. “When it’s all said and done, he’s likely to have served just under one year in federal prison,” he stated.

“The way federal sentencing works is the government tells the judge what sentence the person should get. Here, the government hasn’t asked for any sentence. When the government doesn’t ask for a sentence, what they’re saying is time served, no sentence.” he added.

It seems as though prosecutors may think otherwise as sources say the New York probation department believes the rapper should still face a minimum of 37 years. Shortly after this news broke out, Gagnat made another video on Instagram to explain why he believes the rapper won’t be facing a hefty prison sentence after all.

“The probation department, also part of the government, is recommending time served. The defense attorneys are also recommending time served. So it would take something really extreme, really something unprecedented to give anything other than time served.”

“Hernandez provided the Government with critical insight into the structure and organization of Nine Trey, identified the gang’s key players, and described acts of violence that he personally witnessed or that he heard about from other Nine Trey members,” says, attorney Geoffrey S. Berman who recommends that 69’s case be reduced due to his cooperation with authority.

We will keep you posted on the fate of the New York rapper.
