Tamera Mowry-Housely Returns to ‘The Real’ After Her Niece’s Killing at Thousand Oaks Shooting

Tamera Mowry-Housley made an emotional return to The Real after her niece Alaina Housley was among those who were killed in the Thousand Oaks Massacre two weeks ago. She opened up to her co-host, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne Bailon about her feelings about losing her niece.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that she is not here with me or with our family,” Mowry said. “She would want me to move forward and to use her voice as a catalyst for change and that’s why I’m here today. I don’t care if I have to knock on the doors of the White House to do it, to advocate change.”

Mowry then went on to describe her niece as “sweet, loving, kind, and a debater.”

The Thousand Oaks Massacre is a mass shooting that took place at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California. On November 7, 2018. The suspected gunman, David Long used a .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol firing more than 50 rounds. The shooting claimed the lives of 12 people.
