Not So Fast: Billy Dee Williams Says He Doesn’t Know What “Gender-Fluid” Means

Billy Dee Williams Says He Is Not "Gender-Fluid" or Gay

Aunties and Colt 45 drinkers were thrown for a loop when Billy Dee Williams seemingly confirmed in an interview with Esquire that he was “gender-fluid.”  The actor is now refuting that and is making it clear he was totally misunderstood. He also doesn’t know what the term means.

Responding to all of the reports that surfaced following the eyebrow-raising revelation, the 82-year-old actor set the record straight during an interview The Undefeated.

“Well, first of all, I asked last night. I said, ‘What the hell is gender-fluid?’ That’s a whole new term. But what I was talking about was about men getting in touch with their softer side of themselves. There’s a phrase that was coined by Carl G. Jung, who was a psychiatrist…But he coined a phrase that’s, ‘Anima animus.’ And anima means that is the female counterpart of the male self, and the animus is the male counterpart of the female.”

He further explained his usage of the pronouns “himself” and “herself” by stating he fully embraced both his feminine and masculine sides and was not actually talking about his sexual orientation or gender identity.

“I wasn’t talking about sex, I wasn’t talking about being gay or straight. People should read [Jung]. I mean, it would be an interesting education for a lot of people.”

When asked the million dollars question of if he is gay? Williams shot that down while being very careful not to offend anyone in the process.

“No, no, no, I’m not gay — by any stretch of the imagination. Not that I have anything against gay people. But personally? Not gay.”

Now, as far as the character Lando Calrissian, he was confirmed to be “pansexual” by Solo: A Star Wars Story writer Jonathan Kasdan revealed to the Huffington Post. If you saw the movie, Donald Glover’s version of the iconic Star Wars character had a hmmmmm inducing relationship with his female droid companion. Also, some critics believed that Han Solo and Glover were flirting with each other in the film.

We will get to see Lando Calrissian again when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters December 20,2019. Williams confidently promised in his interview that it will be hit with fans adding, “I know that people are really going to enjoy it.”

Kylo Ren & Rey Fight & Ultimately Team-Up In Final ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Trailer

Last night (Oct. 21) while the New England Patriots were doing it to the New York Jets with no vaseline, we were blessed with the final trailer to J.J. Abrams highly anticipated conclusion to the franchise that George Lucas built (and ultimately damaged…no shots), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

While the previous two films have fans split as to whether J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) or Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) did the franchise more harm than good with their installments, this latest trailer is giving fans some hope that Abrams can end the decades-old saga on a high note.

Packing action to the brim with Kylo Ren and Rey once again in a lightsaber duel to the resistance waging war on the evil First Order army before we get a quick appearance from what we can assume is a zombie like Emperor Palpatine on a floating throne threatening Rey, The Rise of Skywalker seems to be all kinds of lit. It should be noted that rumors say Abrams wasn’t too keen on Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi so it should be interesting to see what he does to “fix” what he felt Johnson did wrong. Does he change that lame origin story that Johnson concocted to explain where Rey came from? Word is, yes. Will he find a way to resurrect Luke Skywalker (SPOILER!)? Fingers crossed!

Still, in this age of social media outrage expect hardcore fans to find all kinds of flaws in what is supposed to be the final chapter of this Star Wars saga before Game of Thrones writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss find new and creative ways to further piss off Star Wars fanatics and continue to sully the franchise in their eyes.

Check out the final full length trailer to J.J. Abrams Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below and let us know if you’ll be checking for this when it drops on December 20.

Dark Side Rey?: The New ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Trailer Will Give You The Feels [Video]

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker art

The Skywalker portion of the Star Wars films (three trilogies, y’all) will come to its conclusion this Christmas. But as we speculate the fates of our heroes, the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer is sure to give you all the feels.

The clip actually starts with a homage to all eight films (Han Solo shot first) and will have you reconsidering the merits of Episodes 1, 2 and 3 (they’re still meh, but have their moments—Revenge of the Jedi was the best). But pay attention to Darth Maul and his dual lightsaber.

In the proper trailer, we see that Rey has gotten even better with her lightsaber. Kylo Ren and Rey are seen dueling on what appears to be Imperial battleship while Poe Dameron is looking pensive at the helm of a ship and Chewbacca is still hanging around; the usual.

But near the conclusion, we get to see what looks like a Dark Side favoring Rey break out her own version of a double lightsaber. A dream sequence or a legit turn? Either way, it’s lit.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in theaters December 20. Watch the trailer below.
