HHW Gaming: PS5 Confirmed Copped, Here Are The Games Coming To Sony’s New Console

Sony took its sweet time, but our patience was definitely rewarded following today’s PS5 reveal event.

Now that was a presentation, and a much needed pick me up. Before showing off its crown jewel, the PS5, Sony said we got GAMES to show you, and they didn’t disappoint. The company showed off 26 games that we could all look forward to when PS5 finally arrives Holiday 2020.

Right out the gate, PlayStation wasn’t playing revealing that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be swinging onto the PS5 when it launches, but instead of playing as Peter Parker, the story will continue with you taking control of young Miles Morales. We also got a glimpse at Resident Evil VIII: Village, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon: Forbidden West, NBA 2K21, and more.

Once the games were out of the way, it was time to show everyone what they were waiting for. As expected, the sleek console definitely stays true to the white and blue hue the already revealed DualSense controller sported. The PS5 is, without a doubt, unlike anything we have seen before when it comes to a console. The PS5 is curved, features a white shell with a black inside segment to complement the look.

Unlike previous PlayStation releases, the PS5 will be released in two versions, a “regular” PS5 and a PS5 Digital Edition, which will not have a disc drive opting to forgo Blu-Ray discs for digital downloads only.

Sadly, we still don’t know how much it will cost, with many analysts predicting in the $499 price range. Twitter, for some reason, believes it will cost a hell of a lot more with some gamers jokingly saying they will either sell themselves for one or take part in other unspeakable actions to secure a PS5.

Sony has already announced that the PS5’s price will come at a later date. We will definitely keep you guys updated when that day comes until then, feast your eyes on all of the game trailers that were revealed during the live stream event below.

Pics of Jared Leto’s ‘Morbius’ Leak, Full Trailer Drops

After months of speculation and teasing from Black Ty, pics have finally leaked of their latest Spider-Man spinoff film, Morbius, and from the looks of it, the character is pretty spot-on.

While rumors of a full-length trailer dropping sometime soon (possibly this week) have yet to be fulfilled, screen aps from what seems to be the trailer in question have hit Twitter and boy does it look bloody good.

The first leaked pic depicts the iconic image of Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) right after he becomes the living vampire known as Morbius in the original Marvel comics.

The second picture shows Leto walking in an alleyway but what caught everyone’s eye is a poster of Tobey McGuire’s Spider-Man on the wall with “Murderer” spray painted across it. Now this is interesting as it was Tom Holland’s MCU Spider-Man who was labeled a murderer thanks to the events that unfolded at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, not McGuire’s.

Eagle-eyed Spidey fans were also quick to point out that the Spider-Man image used is that of Playstation 4’s Spider-Man video game which dropped late last year, but was in fact Tobey’s version of the character. That being said we’re not sure which incarnation of the Spidey character Morbius director Daniel Espinosa is referencing in his film.

What we do know is that Morbius is supposed to be taking place in the same universe that saw Tom Hardy turn into the lethal protector known as Venom, so we do expect a Venom nod at some point of the film.

Rumors also have it that J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson (who labeled Spidey a killer in Far From Home) is slated to reprise his Spider-Man hating role in Morbius, but Sony and Marvel have work out the details of that appearance.

Either way the two screenshots alone have us excited and the trailer itself is pretty lit.

Check it out below and try to make sense of Michael Keaton’s appearance in the end and whether or not he’s the MCU’s Vulture or not.

Sony Just Thanos Snapped Spider-Man From All Future Marvel Movies

Spider-Man Avengers Infinity War

It’s officially a wrap for Spider-Man. Sony Pictures has decided to pull back from having the iconic superhero appear in future Marvel films.

According to reports, the sudden decision stems from failed negotiations between Sony and Marvel Studios parent company Disney.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige won’t produce any further Spider-Man films because of an inability by Disney and Sony Pictures to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward. A dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, sources said. This comes at a moment when the last two films Kevin Feige produced broke all-time records — Disney’s Avengers: Endgame became the highest grossing film of all time, and Spider-Man: Far From Home this week surpassed the James Bond film Skyfall to become the all time highest grossing film for Sony Pictures. Over the past few years, Spider-Man has played key roles in Marvel Studios’ biggest box office releases.

Disney and Sony entered into a unique partnership for Marvel to produce the Spider-Man movies that starred Tom Holland. The deal saw Feige as lead producer on Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home in a complex arrangement that allowed the hero, whose movie rights are controlled by Sony, to appear in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and two Avengers movies. The two sides had been talking about ways to extend the deal for future Spider-Man movies to star Holland, but talks collapsed recently. (The Hollywood Reporter)

For 20 years, Sony has had exclusive control of the Spider-Man franchise.

Sony has controlled the rights to the web-slinger since 1999, but the two studios have been happily (or so we thought) sharing Spider-Man across a plethora of films since 2015, including major roles in the latest “Avengers” movies. As part of the previous agreement, Marvel had also been acting as a producer on the 2017 and 2019 standalone Sony “Spider-Man” movies starring Tom Holland, which were both box-office blockbusters. Sony currently has the power to make a slew of spider flicks including Spider-Man, Spider-Verse and Venom.

Sony will now make Spider-Man AND Spider-Verse movies (Miles Morales is safe) without official input or content from producer Kevin Feige and the MCU. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse earned rave reviews, earned $190 million domestic (Sony Animation’s biggest U.S. grosser) and $375.5 million on a $90 million budget. The sequel is absolutely primed to be a breakout sequel in the tradition of John Wick: Chapter 2 and Pitch Perfect 2. So, now, for the first time since 2004, Sony is in a position of power in terms of Spider-Man. (Forbes)

Sony Plans to Flood Market With Spider-man Content Over Next Seven to Eight Years

Sony has a plan to make sure we get a ton of Spider-man content for the foreseeable future.

In an interview with Variety, Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman Tony Vinciquerra and Sony Pictures Television chairman Mike Hopkins discussed Sony’s plans for its Spider-Man related properties in the future, and it appears Sony has a pretty clear vision of where they’re going.

“We have the next seven or eight years laid out as to what we’re going to do with that asset, and that will not only be on the film side — it’ll be on the TV side,” said Vinciquerra. “Our television group will have its own set of characters from within that universe that we will seek to develop.”

According to Hopkins, the team on the television side is “pretty far down the road in terms of working through which characters we think could be their own star of a series.”

“We’re developing a lot of Marvel-related content, and I think we’ll be out in the market very soon with something really, really big and transformational for us, because we’ve not done any shows with Marvel before, with Marvel IP,” said Hopkins. “So that’s a big piece of development that we’re onto… I think we aspire to have several shows in a universe that we create that can pollinate between each other, and to [be] working with a partner to make that happen.”

While it’s currently unclear if Sony intends to partner with a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu to facilitate its Marvel shows, Hopkins reportedly didn’t deny the Disney+ streaming service is also a potential name in the mix. Content is king and Spider-man has a lot to offer.
