No New York Giant is celebrated by the city and NFL fans like defensive legend Lawrence Taylor (sorry, Eli). While many of today’s sneakerheads are too young to know the kind of fear he struck in opponents and their ankles, us football OG’s recognize the realness.

For Complex’s latest installment of their Sneaker Shopping series, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of The Year and two-time Super Bowl champion linked up with Joe La Puma at Kith in Miami to talk kicks and copp heat.

Naturally the 61-year-old Hall of Famer grew up in a different era so of course “I’ve always been a Converse type of person until I got older.” Even when Nike would bless him with some cleats for the field he’d cover up their logo because they wasn’t cutting him that check for rockin’ that check. Even in the 80’s he was way ahead of his time. The man got married in a tux and a pair of Air Force 1’s before it was even a thing!

Who says sneaker collecting is a young man’s game? Don’t tell that to Hollywood OG and heartthrob to some, Jeff Goldblum.

On the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping with Complex, we were surprised to learn that Jeff Goldblum has an affinity for fashion and with a chess board on his person to match his Nike Sacai’s, The Fly actor reminisces about his first pair of Pro-Keds in the 60’s and talks about getting “freaky about the [sneaker] laces.” We know how that sounds but what he means is that he’s really into sneaker laces. Wait, that didn’t sound much better but y’all know what he’s trying to say.

Aside from picking and choosing some of his favorite sneaker silhouettes, Goldblum talks about the exclusives created from the films he was involved in and how he got his first pair of Triple S Balenciaga’s.

Offset is a legit sneakerhead. The Migos rapper effortlessly rattled off his favorite kicks by name while discussing his collection and dropping over $31K—mostly on SB Dunks and Air Jordan Retros—while Sneaker Shopping with Complex. 

A gregarious Offset also excitedly discussed some of his prized items including a pair of Macklemore Air Jordan 6’s from a collection that he values at at least $1M.

“So I did a song with him called ‘Willy Wonka,’ recorded it at his home,” said Offset of the Macklemore blessing. “I came to the crib, we were shooting hoops. He brought them out to me like, ‘I appreciate you. This record’s going good. My brother. Great friendship.’ And he gave me those. In my head I wanted to go crazy and run around, but I played it cool, but I knew that was like a 25 grand shoe.”

In total Offset bought 27 pairs while at Flight Club in LA and it was nothing but heat with joints like the Doernbecher “Superman” IVs and the Air Jordan IV Georgetown PE’s that were a smooth $7,600.

Megan Rapinoe Cops A Few Grails on ‘Sneaker Shopping With Complex’

Megan Rapinoe is the man. She led the US Women’s soccer team to two FIFA World Cup wins in the past two tournaments, called out Donald Trump for his divisive ways, and quoted Nipsey Hussle on her IG page post-World Cup win.

But still on top of all her dopeness the World Cup champion is also a sneakerhead (yeah, she’s invited to the BBQ), and in the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping With Complex, Megan Rapinoe takes to Stadium Goods with Joe La Puma to cop some kicks while talking fashion, her love of sneakers, and her love of Jordan.

After reminiscing about how she was “mind blown” when she got her first part of “Concord” Air Jordan XII’s as a kid, Rapinoe says “Michael Jordan was my hero. I had the life-sized cardboard” and that she’d “rip the posters out or the pages out of Sports Illustrated and like pin them on the wall everywhere.”
