Sebastian Telfair’s Mother and Brother Die After Battles with COVID-19

Former NBA player Sebastian Telfair has lost his mother and brother due to coronavirus.

Telfair’s brother, Dan Turner, passed away on March 28 from the virus, which was followed by his 64-year-old mother Erica on Monday. The New York Post states that she had a battle with the virus but the official cause of death has not been disclosed.

“Let me see them X-rays. I ain’t no expert. We just hurt!” Telfair posted on his Instagram story quoting Kanye West’s “Roses.”

“Rest In Peace Mommy,” Ethan Telfair, Sebastian’s younger brother, wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Until we meet again my angel.”

“Today i lost my big brother and it’s ripping my heart and spirit apart,” Ethan would write on Twitter in March. “I love you so much and i don’t know how I’m going to get over this.”

Sebastian Telfair Out Of Prison For Now, Rocking Ankle Monitor

Sebastian Telfair was recently sentenced to 3.5 years in prison due to firearms charges. However, the former NBA star is out, for the moment, and wearing an ankle monitor.

A judge took into consideration Telfair’s plea for bail while he appeals his case, and granted the Brooklyn native’s wish. This was an official ask, not when he damn near broke down in court when he realized he was prison bound.

Reports TMZ:

The ex-NBA star and former H.S. prodigy is out of prison just days after he was sentenced to 3.5 years in his gun case … but there’s a chance Telfair could end up back behind bars.

Here’s the deal … 34-year-old Telfair was convicted of possessing an illegal firearm stemming from a June 2017 incident where he was caught with an arsenal of weapons during a traffic stop.

He was facing up to 15 YEARS in prison for the crime … but instead, on Aug. 12, a judge ordered him to serve 3.5 years.

Telfair and his legal team appealed the sentence … and asked that while the process plays out, they let Telfair bail out of prison.

On Tuesday, the judge agreed to the terms which include the ankle monitor and that Telfair remain in New York City. He had to surrender his passports, must remain in his home from 7pm to 7am and had to pony up $500M in bail money.

Not a bad deal while Telfair tries to convince the justice system he was a victim of the jig.

Sebastian Telfair’s Sister Arrested By The FBI for Threatening His Ex-Wife & Her Kids

When will people learn that threatening the life of another person (even if you don’t mean it) can get you locked up?

Ex-NBA star guard Sebastian Telfair‘s sister just learned that lesson the hard way as TMZ is reporting that Octavia Telfair was taken into FBI custody for continuously calling Sebastian’s ex-wife Samantha, and threatening to “kill my kids and cut off my face.”

Damn, those are Octavia’s nephews and nieces for God’s sake. Still, Octavia was highly upset that his ex-wife took the stand against her brother for a gun charge he caught in New York City.

During Sebastian’s trial, Samantha told prosecutors she had personally witnessed the former basketball star in possession of multiple weapons, including the gas-operated submachine gun he was allegedly carrying when he was arrested in June 2017.

Apparently, Sebastian’s sister, Octavia, felt Samantha’s testimony was treacherous — so she allegedly called Samantha more than 50 times on the phone to express her discontent.

The LAPD and NYPD were investigating — since Samantha lives in L.A. and Octavia lives in New York — but the case was kicked to the FBI, which ultimately decided to arrest Octavia.

Back in 2017, the 12-year NBA veteran was arrested when police found a more than a few burners in his car during a traffic stop in Brooklyn. He was convicted this past April and is currently facing up to 15 years in prison.

Hopefully his sister won’t have to suffer a similar fate as we can only imagine how devastating that would be on an already heartbroken family.

Brooklyn high school basketball standout now former struggle NBA player Sebastian Telfair is getting more recognition for his antics off the court instead of while he was on it. The NY Post reports Telfair’s gun trial is a pure circus with all involved acting ridiculous.

Tuesday (Apr.16) Telfair’s weapons possession trial turned into an episode of one your favorite trashy reality tv shows according to the Post‘s report. Things went left when the former Portland Trailblazer’s mistress and estranged wife testified against him plus a female friend of Telfair who was seated in the gallery also contributed to the circus.

Per the NY Post:

“Mistress Caterina Scotto was in the middle of explaining how her relationship with the married hoopster ran hot and cold, but stopped her testimony to complain that a woman in the gallery was intimidating her.

“There’s this lady that keeps mouthing things to me,” Scotto said to Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice John Hecht. “And it’s making me really uncomfortable.”

That woman, Patricia Ciccone, was called into the hallway for questioning, where she said she was just Telfair’s friend. Hecht allowed her to stay in the courtroom but warned her to not communicate with the witnesses.

Earlier in the day, as estranged wife Samantha Telfair identified some of the guns found in her hubby’s pick-up, the hoopster repeatedly yawned loudly at the defense table and twisted around to meet eyes with Ciccone.

The ex-athlete was so distracting that Hecht even put his behavior on the record.

“The defendant is turning to the audience and making facial expressions the jury can see,” the judge said, before telling Telfair to stop.

Sebastian Telfair settled down after the warning, but Ciccone could be heard from across the courtroom chuckling as Samantha Telfair testified that she had seen her husband’s with multiple weapons, including a gas-operated submachine gun prosecutors say he had on him when he was arrested.”

Scotto also admitted during her testimony that she saw Telfair with a firearm on numerous occasions and chuckled when she revealed he called the guns “biscuits.” She also admitted to taking Telfair’s framed jerseys from the former NBA player’s storage unit she rented. When asked by his defense attorney if she sold any of the memorabilia she replied “Why?” the 26-year-old said. “It’s not worth anything.”

Bruh!

The struggle is indeed real. Telfair’s case stems from him being busted in Brooklyn in June 2017 while carrying three loaded pistols, ammunition, extended magazines, and a ballistic vest while riding around in his Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Sebastian Telfair is in the hole. The former NBA guard reportedly owes $43,000 in credit card debt.

American Express wants its dough.

Per TMZ Sports, the former first round draft pick didn’t pay a $43,051.69 bill, and now AmEx is suing.

The amount should technically be chump since despite never developing into a superstar, Telfair made $19M across a 10-year career.

However, Telfair’s bigger struggle of the moment is the illegal possession of weapons and weed charges he’s facing right. After his arrest in June 2017—he got bagged in an illegally parked car—he’s facing 15 years in the bing if convicted.

It’s past time to tighten up.
