Koache, RL, Nottz Connect For “Another Love” Off Koache’s Forthcoming Album “Built 4 Music”

Koache is no stranger to the music scene and his forthcoming new album, Built 4 Music, validates as much; as the album cover art depicts a drone-like figure with every limb, organ, muscle, and nerve being constructed from musical instruments, notes and paraphernalia.

With a handful of projects under his belt, Koache’s forthcoming Built 4 Music is his first proper studio album since he released Game Point (and its deluxe version Game Point 2.0) back in 2016.  Game Point featured appearances and production from The Game, Xzibit, BJ The Chicago Kid, WC, Demrick, Cory Gunz and Nottz among others.

A frequent collaborator with Nottz, the duo reaffirmed their chemistry with Built 4 Music’s first single “Push”; which also features guest appearances from The Game & Demrick.

Now, Koache returns to spread a little love with the project’s second single, “Another Love,” which is again produced by Nottz and features one of the kings of R&B with RL from the legendary group Next

RL Talks ‘The Letter J’ EP and NEXT’s Collaborative Project With Naughty by Nature

RL Talks 'The Letter J' EP and NEXT's Collaborative Project With Naughty by Nature

R&B veteran, RL, is back with a new EP called, The Letter J.

The four-track collection samples Jodeci, Janet Jackson, and Jon B, so it’s definitely a treat for traditional R&B lovers.

This musical effort serves as an appetizer to what the singer has in store. In an exclusive conversation with Two Bees TV, the singer announced that he’s working on an Afrobeats album that will release in Africa, as well as a collaborative project with Naughty by Nature. “We’re actually getting ready to shoot the videos for the NEXT by Nature project, which is probably gonna be 4, 5 songs. Which is Next and Naughty by Nature because that’s who discovered us,” he said.

RL revealed that NEXT had about 70 songs that were “mixed and ready to go” but will never see the light of day because Tweety is focused on his self-development.

But the group always have their classic hits like “Too Close” and “Wifey” they can serenade crowds with and secure a bag once the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.

When asked about the possibility of NEXT joining a Verzuz battle, RL said he “wouldn’t want to do one.”

“I think it’s subjective, again, our records went somewhere else. If I asked you right now out of all the groups from my genre and my era, if I ask the average consumer, we’re not one of their favorite groups. We’re not the first two or three groups they think of which is cool,” he said starting around the 24:44 minute marker.

He added, “out of all these groups if you turn on the radio, 9 times out of 10 … you’re gonna hear “Wifey” or “Too Close.” These records have definitely been embedded in most American DJs warm-up sets, but RL thinks the group isn’t recognized enough to do a Verzuz battle.

RL is open to a virtual performance and he has lots of new music to perform for it.

RL Talks New Album ‘The Procession’

RL is best known for singing in the male R&B group, Next, but he’s ready to establish his solo career with his new album, The Procession.

He set himself aside from the group with his Deborah Cox collaboration, “We Can’t Be Friends.” He was also featured on The Best Man soundtrack with Ginuwine, Tyrese, and Case.

It’s a perfect time for RL to make a return with a yearn for traditional R&B music.

Check out this interview with the singer below:

What are some of your elements from your new album, The Procession? My journey! Including my frustrations while remaining humble. This album is what people may see as me coming back from the dead. I’m delivering Passion, love and hope everyone can experience and appreciate the growth while listening to the album.

You are known for shaping artists’ musical sound. Jahiem single “Just in Case” became gold. How was your reaction when that came about? It was expected. Not because I felt like I knew it was going to be big, but the hard work that you did yesterday can benefit what you do tomorrow. It was a ballad but we double-timed the beat to make it up-tempo. I wrote the bridge on the phone while in LA and Jahiem and KG from Naughty by Nature were in NJ. We worked so hard especially with Jahiem being so talented we expected the record to be huge.

What was your inspiration behind the album title, The Procession? We are burying our skeletons. In early music, I want to resurrect myself. Remind people, I have more to give them than “Too Close” and “Wifey”. It’s a reintroduction, rebirth to RL.

What story did you want to tell with your project? I want to tell a lot of stories. If we make enough relatable stories through music, people will feel connected to different songs for different reasons. For example, someone who is going through pain, wanting to be intimate, new relationships, wanting to tell someone you love them and can’t find the right words or simply even being able to personally relate with how they are feeling but unable to find the right words to express themselves; There’s a song for that. we are in a time that you turn on a cd when you are in a mood. I come from a time where you can put on one album and it contains different songs for different moods.
