In driving to their destination, Wilson and her husband Gabe (played by Black Panther’s Winston Duke) rejoice when “I Got 5 On It” plays on their vehicle’s stereo. It remains in the background of the trailer and when things start to get eerie – particularly when the family discovers their neighbors are demon versions of themselves – the song transforms from a party song about throwing money on weed to a chopped up slowed down version many heads probably didn’t believe could ever be created.
Us is slated for a March 15, 2019 release via Universal Pictures. Monkeypaw Productions handled the film’s creation with Peele being joined by Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum in the production credits.
