Gold Chain Music’s MidaZ The BEAST returns with new visuals for “Nowhere” this morning. Also available digitally via DSP, this is the first single from the forthcoming LP The Devil’s Playground“. A dark dive into the lyricist’s mentals, the beat (and accompanying video directed by YoYo) is murky, psychedelic and an excursion into the abstract. Dropping on February 3rd, the LP is fully produced by Uruguay’s Delle Digga, who also partnered with MidaZ’s 2020 LP “Where The SideWalk Ends.
With no time off MidaZ The BEAST and Delle Digga released the 8487 EP last year with MidaZ hitting West Coast stages with Killarmy and Planet Asia. Notably, he also pulled up on us a few years back for a mic session.
Midaz The Beast has developed an outstanding chemistry with Uruguay producer Delle Digga. So, after dropping the well-received “Where The Sidewalk Ends” album last year, they are back with “8487,” a two-part LP that tributes the ’80s and specifically the years they were born, 1984 (Midaz) and 1987 (Delle). The witty wordplay and funky sounds of the “87” EP set the tone for what listeners could expect on “84.” This is music made for sunny days, drop top rides, and sweaty nightclubs.
Orlando spitter Midaz The Beast has just released the lead single “El Debarge” off his “84” EP, which is the second half of his “8487” album. If you were feeling his “87” EP, which dropped last week, you need to give this new track a spin. The Delle Digga production eschews drums for heavy bassline and atmospheric crowd noise. Midaz floats over the smooth soundbed with a flow that recalls a young DOOM.
Underground phenom Midaz The Beast has reconnected with Uruguay producer Delle Digga for a two-part album titled “8487.” Their last collab, “Where The Sidewalk Ends,” was a slept-on masterpiece. The title “8487” refers to Midaz and Delle’s birth years, 1984 and 1987 respectively. Each part of the album consists of 10 tracks packed with funky and soulful samples. The vibe recalls black music’s transition from the ’70s into the ’80s. There are no guests on this offering, just a concentrated dose of Midaz’ witty wordplay.
“87” is out digitally today and “84” will follow in two weeks. Then the whole album will be released on physical formats shortly thereafter. Like the duo’s last album “8487” will be released on vinyl, CD, and cassette by one of the most respected indie labels in the game, Chong Wizard Records.
