The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today that the 2025 Met Gala will be co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair. According to Vogue, the star-studded event will occur on May 5, 2025, with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, as its centerpiece.
Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the exhibition will showcase garments, paintings, photographs, and more, highlighting the influential style of Black men from the 18th century to the present day.
The Met Gala, chaired by Wintour since 1995, has long been one of fashion’s most anticipated events. The 2025 edition will focus on the enduring legacy of Black fashion and culture. The exhibition will open to the public on May 6 and run through October 26, 2025. The official dress code will be revealed in early 2025, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of fashion and culture.

Diddy and City Girls’ Yung Miami stunned arriving at the 2023 Met Gala together. When walking the stairs of the stories museum, the duo was asked the question we all were thinking by La La Anthony: “Do y’all officially go together real bad?”
After sidestepping the question, Diddy circled back with an answer. “We definitely go together real bad,” Diddy said.
He added, “She’s my date for the night. We don’t put titles on it. Everybody wants us to put a title on it, we don’t put titles. This like my best friend in the world, one of the most beautiful people God has blessed me with. And I’m blessed that she’s my date tonight.”

As an homage to Lagerfeld’s love of the camellia, over 1000 bespoke camellia blooms made of satin and velvet petals decorated the cape and suit. Combs finished the look with classic Lagerfeld pieces in black like pointed boots, finger gloves, and sunglasses.

To close up the Met Gala’s annual star-studded evening, D’USSÉ Cognac threw an exclusive Met Gala after-party at Cipriani’s in New York.

If you were excited to see Nicki Minaj at this year’s Met Gala art show, then you are a part of the crowd of disappointed fans who would miss the entertainer’ slay. The Barbz were disappointed because this would be another opportunity missed to see the Queen step out since pre-COVID.
In a response to a fan, the Queens New York rapper stated that she wouldn’t be in attendance this year, for the safety of her newborn. “Nicki’s last public appearance was over a year ago,” a fan account wrote on Twitter.
“I have an infant with no nannies during COVID. who mad? Not risking his health to be seen. One yaself,” the rapper responded.
While fans understood where the Queen was coming from, Nicki Minaj also explained her reasoning for pulling out of the VMA’s this year as she was expected to perform. “Love u babe. I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID? Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama?”
