Ludacris is known for his outlandish visuals in his videos. Still, he brought one of his most famous looks to life yesterday (Sept. 4) at the Atlanta Braves game when he threw out the first pitch wearing the enormous muscle arms he donned in his famous video “Get Back”.

Before the Braves’ home game against the Rockies at ATL’s Truist Bank Park, Luda threw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch wearing the massive muscle-bound arms along with the super-sized Air Force 1s from his “Stand Up” smash hit to match.

Even with the extra arm wear, the “Area Codes” rapper could still throw the ball close to the strike zone, to the surprise of many, including the Braves bat boy who caught the pitch.

The 46-year-old rapper/actor’s presence was part of a celebration to honor Atlanta music artists and their impact on culture. Fifteen thousand fans lucky enough to be in Truist Park for the game were given a limited edition Ludacris bobblehead.

[WATCH] Ludacris Sparks Health Concerns From Fans After Drinking Water From Frozen Ice Cap

Screenshot 2024 08 27 at 11.08.57 AM

Fans have shown concern for ATL rapper/actor Ludacris after he posted a video of him drinking water from a glacier of ice in Alaska.

Luda posted the video yesterday (Aug. 26). In it, he shows himself on the edge of an ice cap filling his container with natural ice-cold water.

“I couldn’t come here and just have a show,” Luda said. “You know I got a bucket list — or as I like to call it the fuck it list. I’ve never tasted fresh glacial water ever in my life, and this is a first. Here we go!”

Luda added in his IG caption, “Water So Good It Tastes Like GOD Made It. Well, Because He Did.”

Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. commented on X (formerly Twitter), said, “……how long ago did he shoot this and have we been monitoring him?”

The “Move” rapper also wrote, “I see a lot of people name calling but still water is still water. Boil that shit and make it cold again” while sharing a video warning people about the danger of drinking natural glacial water.

See the video O’Shea posted HERE

In the clip, a man claims he was “literally sick for two weeks” after drinking water from a 600,000-year-old glacier despite it being “the best water I think I’ve ever had.”

Ludacris later replied in a video posted on X and showed no signs of bad health.

“Yo, for everybody asking me how that glacial water really tasted, and when I tell y’all I’m a water snob, it was the best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.

Some diseases have been frozen in glaciers for hundreds of years and still exist in the water after it has melted. Animals called Tardigrades, which are less than a millimeter in size, can also be found in the water.

Dangerous metals such as mercury, zinc, and cadmium have also been detected in glacial water.

Ludacris’ Manager Chaka Zulu Cleared In 2022 Shooting Case

Ludacris x Chaka Zulu

Chaka Zulu, the longstanding manager of Atlanta rap icon Ludacris, has been acquitted of murder and related charges in a shooting case. Prosecutors have dropped the charges, determining that Zulu acted in self-defense during an incident.

Murder Charges Dropped

Chaka Zulu, the longtime manager of Atlanta rap legend Ludacris, has been cleared of charges in a shooting case where he was accused of murder and other offenses.

Prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia, dropped murder and additional charges against Zulu, on Nov. 22, after concluding that he had acted in self-defense during a shooting incident. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Zulu’s Buckhead restaurant in 2022, where a fight broke out, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old college graduate.

Zulu, whose real name is Ahmed Obafemi, surrendered to authorities on Sept. 13 and was released on bond the same day.

Surveillance Footage Prove Self-Defense

Zulu’s attorney, Gabe Banks, presented evidence and argued that his client had acted in self-defense. Surveillance video from outside the restaurant, APT 4B, was released, showing Zulu being assaulted by a group of men before he fired his gun.

The video supported Zulu’s claim that he was defending himself against the attackers. Following the decision to drop the charges, Banks released a statement on behalf of Chaka Zulu.

On November 23, Banks shared a statement on Zulu being cleared:

“Mr. Chaka Zulu, a beloved son of Atlanta, is pleased with the outcome of the thorough investigation conducted by District Attorney Fani Willis and her team of lawyers and investigators.  From the beginning of this case, Mr. Zulu was committed to a fair process.  He fully believes that after a thoughtful examination of all the facts and evidence related to this matter, District Attorney Willis reached an appropriate and just decision.  It is not lost on Mr. Zulu that there was a loss of life under extraordinary circumstances.  However, it is now time for Mr. Zulu to put this difficult process behind him, and to focus on the support and nurturing of his family. Accordingly, we respectfully request privacy at this time, and that any inquiries be directed to the office of Gabe Banks, Esq.”

The shooting incident, which took place on June 26, 2022, in the parking lot of Zulu’s Buckhead restaurant, resulted in three people being shot. Artez Benton tragically lost his life, and another person was hospitalized.

Atlanta investigators determined that the shooting occurred during a fight between Zulu and other individuals.

Ludacris’ Longtime Manager, Chaka Zulu, Turns Himself In To Police + Gets Officially Charged With Murder

Atlanta rapper Ludacris longtime manager Chaka Zulu was officially charged with murder after the Atlanta shooting in June. He had turned himself in last Tuesday.

Charged With Murder

Manager and Co-founder of record label Disturbing The Peace, Chaka Zulu, real name Ahmed Obafemi, has been officially charged with murder.

The murder charge follows a shooting at an Atlanta restaurant this past June and where Artez Jamil Benton was fatally shot during the incident.

PEOPLE magazine obtained public records and discovered Zulu had turned himself into the Fulton County Jail last Tuesday.

The music executive had been charged with murder, aggravated assault, simple battery, and possession of a firearm or knife to commit a felony. That same day, he was put on a $200,000 bond.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Gabe Banks, working as Zulu’s attorney, said his client “was forced to defend himself” after being attacked “by a gang of at least four individuals.”

Banks added that Zulu was “disappointed” about the decision to charge him.

“Mr. Zulu was shot in the back during the shooting and nearly lost his life, and is still recovering from the nearly fatal injuries he sustained that evening. Mr. Zulu was at his place of business that night and had every right to defend himself.”

He pointed out that Zulu “lawfully discharged his weapon in self-defense; a weapon that he is licensed to carry.”

Despite the charge, he “remains confident that [Obafemi’s] name will be cleared of all charges through the judicial process.”

Chaka Zulu Reportedly Fired Back During The Shooting

Rapper/Actor Ludacris’ longtime manager and co-CEO of Disturbing Tha Peace Records, Chaka Zulu, was one of the three victims in an Atlanta shooting.

According to WSBTV, Zulu fought back in self-defense during the shooting. The attack, captured on nearby surveillance cameras, gave a bird’s eye view of the scene of the crime.

Today in Hip-Hop History: Ludacris Dropped His Sophomore Album ‘Word Of Mouf’ 22 Years Ago

tumblr 6d1ae9c927d28fc99266b191d66fbf69 7ce898c2 500

On this day in 2001, Ludacris released his second full-length album, Word of Mouf. This LP was ridiculously successful, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling 281,000 copies in the first week. It also received critical acclaim, being nominated for a Grammy for Best Hip Hop album (he lost to The Eminem Show). The album today is Ludacris’ top-selling album and is certified triple platinum-selling 3,674,000 copies in the United States.

His debut album, Back for the First Time, peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 and served as a launching pad for the new sound that was refined on his Word of Mouth album. Containing hits like “Roll Out”, “Area Codes”, and “Move B****”, it is easy to see why Word Of Mouf got the attention it did. The production on this project, coming from the likes of Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, and Jazzy Pha helped to set the tone of the early 2000s rap music.

Word Of Mouf as a whole embodied a lot of what southern rap was in the 2000s. There were club hits like “Move B****”, that could appropriately get any function jumping and there were introspective, soulful story-rich tracks such as “Growing Pains”. The spectrum of styles that this album provided suited a plethora of listeners. After this project, Ludacris finally reached a #1 album with Chicken and Beer and continued to grow into a household name in Hip Hop. Even today, Ludacris is a highly respected figure in rap and can still be heard every now and again on someone’s radio single as a strong feature. Take some time today to reminisce and listen to this project that helped shape a legend.

Ludacris Returns To Hip-Hop With Paul Wall & Memphis Bleek Onboard

Ludacris, Paul Wall, Memphis Bleek

After an eight-year hiatus, Ludacris is ready to return to music, and he’s not coming back alone. Fellow artists Paul Wall and Memphis Bleek seem to also be on board. With these powerhouses to return to hip-hop, fans can expect nothing short of greatness.

Ludacris Gets Honest

On Nov. 21, Ludacris sat down with BET to discuss his plan to get back into his music bag after an eight-year hiatus.

During the interview, the actor/rapper revealed that he has been working on music projects set to be released in 2024. Although he didn’t specify whether it would be an EP or an LP, the rapper expressed his eagerness to share new material with his fans. Ludacris explained:

“Yeah, some music projects will be coming out next year. I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out. These movie projects like Fast & Furious and doing a lot of things like the Karma’s World project that’s on Netflix. You know, doing other art forms where I’m creative, where I’m putting my heart into that, I want to make sure that I leave a legacy on this earth.  So it was just taking a step back and getting hungry again, living some life. ‘Cause when you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life. So if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”

The “Get Back” rapper also explained that he didn’t want to necessarily talk about what his new music would sound like because it was “premature” and he had been “working on a lot of stuff.”

Ludacris said he still has some goals he’d like to reach, including playing a villain on the big screen. The “How Low” rapper expressed:

“I definitely would love to be a part of the Marvel universe or DC universe, but I wouldn’t mind playing the villain that doesn’t die. That’s what I’m looking for — one of those roles or like a Training Day villain-type role.”

Ludacris With More Acting Ventures

Speaking of the Fast and Furious actor’s film career, Ludacris and Lil Rel Howrey are set to bring holiday joy in the Disney+ Christmas film Dashing Through The Snow.

In the recently released trailer, with rapper Lil Jon’s distinctive voice, the film unfolds the heartwarming journey of Ludacris as “Eddie Garrick,” a divorced social worker, and his daughter Charlotte, portrayed by Madison Skye Validum, as they embark on a magical Christmas Eve adventure.

Paul Wall Back In The Slab

Meanwhile, Paul Wall has been making moves of his own, releasing his second single titled “Covered In Ice.”

The track showcases the Houston rapper’s signature Southern sound and reflects the lifestyle and culture of his hometown. Accompanied by a music video featuring notable artists such as Bun B and Chalie Boy, titled, “Roll Skate, Bounce,” Paul Wall pays homage to his city while solidifying his place in the rap game.

Memphis Bleek Joins The Wave With A New Artist

Joining the wave of comebacks, New York rapper Memphis Bleek has resurfaced after a ten-year hiatus from music.

Bleek teamed up with Milwaukee’s rap artist Huey V on the track “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” With their shared mentor relationship and Bleek’s lyrical contribution, the collaboration encapsulates Huey V’s journey from the streets to success.

Drake Breaks His Silence

Another rapper who with their shared mentor relationship and Bleek’s lyrical contribution recently broke their hiatus was Drake. The Canadian rapper sent shockwaves through the music world with a surprise announcement of his upcoming EP, Scary Hours 3, following his hiatus declaration. The chart-topping artist captivated fans by sharing a dynamic two-minute trailer, teasing its release.
