After walking through the fire and jumping through hoops to return to the NBA for reposting a perceived anti-Semitic video, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was confronted by the media following his first game after being reinstated on Sunday.

The media wasted no time questioning Irving about the protest by the Hebrew Isrealite movement who marched in support of the troubled basketball player. Irving kept his answers very general, saying, “I would like to be on a platform where I could openly share how I feel without being harshly criticized or being labeled or dealing with outside perceptions that have nothing to do with me.”

ICYMI: Chris Brown Calls Kyrie Irving a “Hero” for Not Getting Vaccinated

Chris Brown Says He's 'Single With a Girlfriend' on Respectfully Justin Premiere

Kyrie Irving has been a hot topic across social media for days after the Brooklyn Nets dismissed him from the team for not complying with COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Critics of Irving include everybody from Magic Johnson to Stephen A. Smith. Chris Brown is on the other side and sees the superstar point guard as a hero.

Chris Breezy hit Instagram and shared a picture of Irving and would share his opinion.

“The real hero! I stand with my brother,” Brown wrote.. “Whoever don’t like it … go live your damn life. It’s his choice and a damn good one. Always in my brother’s corner.”

Last week, ESPN reported Nets general manager Sean Marks announced Irving has been sent away from the team until he decides to be fully vaccinated.

“My job here is to make what we deem as the best decision and best choices for the organization moving ahead as a whole, ” Marks said on Tuesday. “They’re not always ones that are going to be met with open arms and a thumbs-up. These are hard decisions. Just like I’m sure it wasn’t easy for Kyrie either to have to make that [decision] to not be around his teammates.”

Last month, the New York City vaccine mandate went into effect for anyone wishing to attend or play in events at Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden. Missing those games would drop Irving only being available for 43 regular-season games.

“Ultimately, this decision was Joe Tsai and myself, and this decision came down to what we felt was the right move for the organization at this time,” Marks said.

SOURCE SPORTS: Kyrie Irving Reacts to fan Throwing Water Bottle At Him

Kyrie Irving Calls Media 'Pawns' After Receiving Fine from NBA

As he exited the Boston Garden arena on Sunday, Kyrie Irving was on the receiving end of a water bottle throw by an ignorant fan. Prior to coming to Brooklyn, Kyrie played two seasons in Boston.

Now he makes his return playing against his former team in the first round of the 2021 playoffs. Following the incident, Kyrie reacted during his post-game interview.

“There is a certain point where it gets to be too much so I called it out. I just wanted to keep it strictly basketball but you see people feel very entitled out here. They pay for their ticket, great. I’m grateful that they are coming in to watch a great performance but we’re not at the theater. We are not throwing tomatoes and other random stuff at the people that are performing. It’s too much and it’s a reflection on us as a whole when you have fans acting like that. Hopefully, people learn their lessons from being banned or however many years of being arrested, but it’s always going to be an occasion.”

His teammate, Kevin Durant, sternly chimed in on the incident.

“Have some respect for the game. Have some respect for the human beings and have some respect for yourself,” says KD.

“Grow the f**k up and enjoy the game,” said Durant.

ESPN’s Malika Andrews reports that the fan at Boston Garden was charged with assault and battery.

This is the third fan to player abnormal act of disrespect that has occurred over the past week. A Philadelphia 76ers fan threw a bucket of popcorn on Russell Westbrook during Game 2. In addition, a Knicks fan spit on Trae Young during Game 2 of the Hawks & Knicks series. Those fans have been banned from the respective areans indefinitely.

Kyrie Irving Pledges $1.5 Million for WNBA Players to Skip Season

Kyrie Irving Pledges $1.5 Million for WNBA Players to Skip Season

Kyrie Irving is putting his money where his mouth is.

The Brooklyn Nets star pledged $1.5 million to supplement the income of WNBA players who decided to sit this season out due to the coronavirus outbreak or the fight for social justice.

Irving launched the KAI Empowerment Initiative, which will cover the generous donation and provide a financial literacy program to players.

Kyrie joined forces with Natasha Cloud, Jewell Loyd, and several other WNBA players who discussed the challenges they faced while deciding on whether to play or not. The season began Saturday and will be played entirely at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

“Whether a person decided to fight for social justice, play basketball, focus on physical or mental health, or simply connect with their families, this initiative can hopefully support their priorities and decisions,” Irving said in a statement.

Players’ eligibility depends on their decision to opt-out of the season, and they can’t be receiving compensation from another entity. If a player is out for medical reasons, it has to be related to the coronavirus to be eligible for the program.

Players have until August 11th to apply and will be notified if they were accepted by August 24th.

Kyrie Irving is currently recovering from a shoulder injury and didn’t return with the Nets for the restart of the NBA season. He has been very vocal about recent social justice issues and produced a TV special calling for justice for Breonna Taylor.

Kyrie Irving To Miss The Rest of The Season Due To Shoulder Injury

Nike KYRIE 5

Source: Nike Basketball / NIke

This past offseason the Brooklyn Nets continued to best their crosstown rivals New York Knicks when they swooped in and snagged free agent targets Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, but it’s already looking like the Knicks avoided a disaster by losing out on the All-Star point guard with a knack for alienating his teammates.

According to The New York Times Kyrie Irving’s injury history has come back to haunt him and will cause him to miss the rest of the season. Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks told reporters that the right shoulder that’s kept Kyrie out for most of this season will now require surgery for correction as the cortisone shots aren’t the move anymore.

Marks said the decision had been made after Irving spent the “last few days visiting with a specialist.” Irving is expected to return in time for the beginning of next season, but a more specific timetable will not be determined until after the operation.

“He’s obviously upset about this,” Marks said. “We’re here to support him, support the process, moving forward with him.”

Though Irving’s only played in 20 games this season he was averaging 27.4 points per game to go with 6.4 assists. Still in the 20 games that Kyrie suited up for the team, the Nets are a mere 8-12. On the other hand the team boasts a respectful 17-16 record in the 33 games that Kyrie missed. So if Nets fans thought they’d be tanking for a high draft pick to place alongside a healthy Kyrie and KD come next season, think again. The Nets are currently in the 7th seed of the Eastern Conference playoff picture and now without Kyrie they can actually rise in the standings.

Still, Kyrie tends to play better with another superstar alongside him (Just look at the damage the Cavs did with him and LeBron), so things should be better for Brooklyn next year with a healthy Kyrie and fully recovered Kevin Durant on the court at the same time. So before fans start petitioning for the team to trade Kyrie before his stock continues to plummet, they might as well give the superstar duo an entire season together to see what they can pull off.

“We’re looking at the big picture here,” Marks said. “We’re not looking at the next two, three months. We’re looking at the next two, three years.”

Unfortunately in the nine seasons that he’s been in the league, Kyrie’s only played more than 70 games in only three of them with injuries ranging from his shoulder to his knees. So at this point it’s anyone’s guess how many games Irving will be playing in the next two or three years.
