Arsonal Talks Cassidy, Rappers Who Can’t Battle + More on ‘The Breakfast Club’

Newark battle rap legend and recording artist Arsonal da Rebel took to The Breakfast Club to discuss all things battle rap, beating Cassidy recently in his home town of Philadelphia on SMACK/ URLTV plus a whole lot more with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee.

“The leagues know they’re gonna bank off of Cassidy ’cause he’s a delusional character that everybody’s like enjoying to watch,” Arsonal said. “They enjoy watching him get beat up like that. ‘Cause before me, he battled my man Goodz and he tore him up. It’s like, they know the fans is gon’ watch it. They gon’ pay for it. They gon’ come to the event. So why not use ’em?”

The world’s highest viewed battle rapper ever and recently crowned battler of the decade, Arsonal has progressively been transitioning also into mainstream recording music while locking down his legacy as one of the most respected and ultimately disrespectful battle rappers to emerge.

His battle rap legacy is impressive, to say the least, having faced off against the likes of Loaded Lux, Charlie Clips, Hitman Holla, Conceited, DNA, Pat Stay, Hollow Da Don, Charron, K-Shine, Dizaster across all big leagues worldwide including URLTV, KOTD, RBE, Don’t Flop (UK), Fight Klub, Grind Time Now, Bullpen, Black Ice Cartel, Lionz Den, Rap Grid as well as being handpicked for Snoop Dogg’s Gladiator School and both Eminem’s Total Slaughter and Bodied movie.

Intent on breaking down the unwarranted stereotype that battle rappers can’t make music, Arsonal has recently made music with Scarface, Chris Brown, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Fetty Wap and Tay Roc proving like Tsu Surf, Goodz and Loaded Lux that the two can successfully coexist.

He also has one of the highest viewed individual battles against Manchester Sony Recording Artist and UK battle rap legend Shotty Horroh as 12.6 million views from late 2012, only recently eclipsed by the unique Dizaster vs. Oxxxymiron (Russia) battle on KOTD currently sitting at 13.5 million views from late 2017. Beyond music, Arsonal has recently launched So Disrespectful Apparel clothing line and has been successfully running his own battle rap league in New Jersey – U DUBB Network – since 2012. Dangerous on the battle rap stage, in the cipher and on stage in his own right, Arsonal is one to watch for in the near future. Jersey.

President Obama’s High School Basketball Jersey Sells for $120,000

The former President and hoops fanatic, Barack Obama, made one fortunate former schoolmate of his a large amount of money on Saturday. Peter Noble, who was three years younger than Obama, had an old jersey from the President’s high school hoop days at Honolulu Prep School. Noble sold the jersey at a Dallas auction for $120,000.

The 55-year-old, according to Yahoo, said that the jersey was “destined for the trash,” until he found a photo of Obama wearing the number 23 jersey that he possessed. One would likely assume Obama chose 23 for his favorite player Michael Jordan.

The auction house confirmed that the details of the jersey match that of the one on Obama in the photo, and Noble made a six-figure come up. Noble has said that he plans to donate a portion to their former high school.

[PROFILE FROM THE MAGAZINE] Unsigned Hype Tsu Surf

Newark’s own Tsu Surf has all the makings to become a rap force, and can now count being in the exclusive Unsigned Hype fraternity as an accomplishment under his belt.

He has a lyrical heritage that affords him equity with some of the dopest emcees in the game. He also has peer cosigns that reads like a who’s who in the rap world, counting Nipsey Hussle and Chris Brown as celebs that have stamped him official. But what regrettably gives “The Wave” entry into a familiar club that boast in its membership, Tupac and 50 Cent, is him being shot 5 times. Out of trauma, he has emerged focused on using his musical prowess as a flame-spitter to be the superstar everyone believes he is. Songs like “My Mother’s House” has caught music lovers by storm. His new album Seven 25 is moving him towards that goal.  And just in time, the industry has been waiting on Surf get tidal wave over the competition.

A$AP Ferg got Harlem going brazy. His custom two piece set is so fye that we wouldn’t be mad if Fashion Nova For Men jacked it.

As per High Snobiety the “Plain Jane” rapper had all the Paid In Full vibes when he debuted his new Dapper Dan creation last week. He was seen sporting a one of one Gucci basketball jersey with the matching shorts. The set is sky blue with rhinestones throughout the body; it is piped out with white and black on the trim. Both Dapper Dan and Gucci patches live on the thigh of the shorts and on the back of the jersey.

It is in commemoration of his Ferg’s newest single “Floor Seats”. He took to his Instagram to flex. @dapperdanharlem custom @gucci basketball 🏀 uniform. Designed by me! “Floor seats” out now!!!

In true Harlem tradition he busted out with another Dapper Dan set for his appearance at Complex Con in Chicago. This version was a navy blue with Japanese themed embroidered dragons and tigers.

You can check out “Floor Seats” below.
