The NFL also confirmed it on their Twitter account. The news comes after rumors allege that Taylor Swift was going to take the gig, only to turn it down to focus on re-recording her back catalog.

The thrilling halftime performance The Weeknd put on for Super Bowl LV in February at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida earned him three Emmy nominations.
On Tuesday (July 13), The 2021 Emmy Awards revealed their full list of nominations, and the Candian musician is in the categories of Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Lighting Design, and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, and Video Control For A Special categories.
The only male artists to earn Emmy nominations from their Super Bowl halftime performance include Bruno Mars, Prince, and Bruce Springsteen.
The “Blinding Lights” singer expressed his humility in a tweet, saying, “great company.”
Following the nomination new, The Weeknd also hinted that fans are getting new music soon. On Twitter, he tweeted, “we gettin’ there,” with the disc emoji.
Then he wrote, “Really proud of this one. wow… massaging it now, being sweet to it. giving it some tlc. Just so there’s no confusion, it’s a full body of work.”

The 2020 NBA All Star game is gonna be lit!!
According to confirmed reports, Weezy, Quavo and Khaled will be performing at this year’s NBA All Star at Chicago’s United Center this upcoming Sunday.
With Windy City native Chance The Rapper also on the bill, the halftime show is predicted to be a plethora of collaborations with such a massive amount of star power scheduled to hit the stage.
Khaled dropped “I’m The One” from his next to last full length album Grateful, which featured Wayne, Quavo and Chance back in 2017.
Fellow Chicagoan Common is also engaged in the activities of the weekend, with the celebrity game on Friday and speaking during halftime about what b-ball means to Chi-Town.
Other celebs expected to participate include Jidenna, Bad Bunny, Chance’s little brother Taylor Bennett and more.

With much fanfare, it was reported that Cardi B wanted $1 million to perform, which pushed her out of the runnings for a performance spot, but critics say that her support for Black Lives Matter activist and NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick kept the “Bodak Yellow” star away from the Super Bowl.
It has also ben reported that Jay-Z reached out to Travis Scott in an alleged attempt to get him to halt his halftime performance.
